Better than my local one with one 88 Cherokee renix that is stripped and that's why I have a whole Cherokee in my backyard.
-
I can't complain but the only way the 44 could be better if it can out of that Comanche and the Comanche was a metric ton. Totally worth the 6 hours round-trip to that place. If I go back I will see about fixing it but it's going to be awhile. This one has more wjs and libertys than Cherokees and Comanche but like I said there's about 10 Cherokees and one Comanche. The Cherokee had 2 or 3 are renix years while the rest are newer and the Comanche was an 86 2.8 v6 5speed 4x4. Here's the link to the Knoxville website for anyone curious https://www.pullapart.com/locations/knoxville/

I tried to see if there was a previous thread about junkyard finds and I couldn't find it so forgive me for creating a new one about junkyard finds. I went to Knoxville Pull a part for the first time after I saw, a few days ago that they had a Comanche that came in Wednesday. The truck was already strip of tail gate, drivers tail light, roll bar, and back glass. Surprisingly the truck still have some goodies. I pull the bed light and switch, e brake release cable, console insert, clutch switch for cruise, and full size console insert. Then I went and looked at the 10 Cherokees they had near the Comanche. Found a lower dash trim and a few badges in one Cherokee. Finally in 1987 Cherokee I found the holy grail of unicorns a Dana 44 with a Trac Lok. Took me and my father 20-30 mins to get it free and then the yard forklift brought the axle to the front of the lot so we could get it loaded up. So the question now is how much I stole the Dana 44 for and with taxes and core it was $125. The deals on the other items were the bed light and switch for $9, brake release for $2. The biggest shock about the Cherokee that had the Dana 44 was that according to the yard sticker it was out in the yard for a month and no one got it before I came today.

I have been searching around the internet for a 27 tooth speedometer gear to correct my speedometer after I recently put bigger tires on my truck. The options are $30-$60 new and about $20 used. Does anyone know any vehicles with the same long shaft speedometer gear for cable driven speedometer that has 27 tooth on the gear?
-
I noticed my speedometer was off while test driving. I got new tires and wheels on the truck 245/75r16 and my gearing is 3.08. What is the number of teeth I need to correct the speedometer being off. Also where is a good source to get one for reasonable price? Thanks

No the cable isn't touching the drum. It's touching the wheels. I forgot to mention the wheels are 16" oem wheels off of a Jeep Wrangler tj.

Took my truck out on a test drive today and discover the ebrake was rubbing on the driver side wheel. Does anyone have any suggestions on routing the cable and pictures of the cable to get it away from the wheel? Thanks

I say it would be a benefit and would be worth the effort to put together because of the lack of info and writeups. Personally, I know I would benefit because I'm close to doing the conversion on my truck and I would add what parts are needed to be changed and/ or modify to work with r134a.

The lights mount on the lower dash panel with One in each footwell.

I decided to lift my mj in the front with rubicon express 4.5” lift springs. I been trying to compess them to fit on to the truck with no success. The springs are about 21” inches and I need to compess them to the size of about 15” inches. I have attempted spring compess eras and was able to get the coil spring to the size of 17” inches. Anyone got any tips or tricks to get the coil springs in? Thanks in advance

It could be 88 because 88 did have those mirrors as an option.

Sentinel Headlights Install
Blaine.D replied to Blaine.D's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
That fuse drove me nuts because I read none of the write up or threads that I could find on the delay relay said anything about the fuse. Then I finally read the manual and found out about the fuse. Also part of the reason why I did this write up is to let other people thinking about do this is to look at that fuse because I bet there are few people with the same issue. -
Sentinel Headlights Install
Blaine.D replied to Blaine.D's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
That could be a possibility but my truck didn’t have the fuse. So when I first installed it, the relay did nothing. Then by reading the fsm I realized it could be that fuse and look under my truck and saw I didn’t have one. I wrote that in the write up because someone could have the same issue as I did. Also it doesn’t hurt to leave a reminder to check the fuse when the relay is doing nothing. -
I couldn’t find a write up on this and decided to create one. More photos will be added soon and wiring information. This is one of the easiest and fastest upgrades you can do. Here’s information from the owner’s manual on this feature. . Photo Credit cruiser54.com List of Parts Needed 25 amp fuse Timer relay part #56000636 or 56009324 located under the steering column mounted to the dash. Photo of relay Connector for the relay if your truck doesn’t have it already. The Install Step 1: Look under your dash and there should be a plug in place already that has nothing connected to it. Looks like this. Step 2: Plug timer relay into the plug and Velcro or bolt relay to the dash. Step 3: Located on fuse box a spot that says HDLPDLY and add a 25 amp fuse to that location. Testing for a successful install Step 1: Turn key to on Step 2: Turn headlights on Step 3: Turn key to off Step 4: Turn headlights off If the Install is successful, the headlights will stay on for 30 seconds. Wiring Information Trouble Shooting Information Step 1: Make sure the module is fully plug in. Step 2: Check HDLPDY fuse and if the fuse is bad replace with 25 amp fuse.

I think my parts Cherokee might still have the fuse box. Pm sent -
This might help you out, here's a link to an engine rpm calculator that would give you a rough idea of what you should expect.https://spicerparts.com/calculators/engine-rpm-calculator

Got my mine today and I wanted to say thank you for the stickers, magnet, and business cards. I'll make sure to give the cards when I see a fellow comanche owner. They look awesome and Don would be proud. Thanks Pete

The 4 panel is an aftermarket replacement and the 3 panel is oem. Also you can't buy a new 3 panel.

What years are you looking for the b pillar lights?

Here’s the part number for a switch for non tilt wheel #56000032. You can’t find it anymore and I would think you could adapt a tilt version to work. Also here’s a list of parts you will need to get to do it and I am pretty sure I got all parts to do it. The only thing i not 100% sure is the wiring harness but I can double check that with my electrical manual. Parts Intermittent Wiper switch Intermittent wiper stalk Intermittent Wiper module Intermittent Wiper wiring??

Anybody running 12 hole injectors?
Blaine.D replied to WahooSteeler's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I replaced my 1 holes with 12 holes injectors from ksuspension https://www.ksuspensionfab.com/store/p22/New%2FRemanufactured%3A_12_Port_Upgraded_Injectors.html So far the injectors have been good, I can confirm that the engine does run smoother at idle and has increased thottle response from me driving the truck around my neighborhood. I can't confirm improve mpg with them since I haven't drove my truck much since I am restoring/modify my truck right now. Heads up when you install the new injectors your engine may run rough for about 15 minutes while the Ecm learns the new injectors. Hope this helps. -
