  1. Someone grabbed the switch already. Unfortunately the screws are stripped out on the cargo light. Made an attempt to get the screws out and I couldn't get any of my bits to grab at all. More than likely has to get drilled out.
  2. 1988 Jeep Comanche Pioneer 4.0L AW4 Auto 2WD Dana 35 Rear Axle Short Bed Unreadable Door Sticker Pull-a-Part North Atlanta Currently out in the yard. Pictures of condition as of 9/14/2025.
  3. Hello Y'all I'm basically at my breaking point with trying to figure out the a/c leak on my comanche. Short story the heater core gave up the ghost and needed to be replaced. At the time the a/c hold a charge but was leaking on the high side valve. I have previous done a 134a conversion. So I ordered a 134a conversion kit from jeep air to get proper fittings and an evap core from rockauto. The evap core and dryer made a woosh sound so I at least know these are likely not the source of the leak. Currently the evap core, compressor fittings, and dryer was replaced. The past couple days i keep getting the same results of vacuuming the system down to 30 inhg and leaks to 20 inhg within a hour. So far I replaced the orings multiple times on the evap core and lines going to the evap, compressor, compressor fittings, and dryer. Replaced the expansion valve. Every time the same results. I even try to add compress air(made sure shop air compressor was drained with no trace of water and had a dryer system on pressure hose) about 40 psi to the system and spray connections with soapy water and no bubbles.
  4. Alrighty finally order the GPD heater core on Monday from Rock Auto. So much for it being copper lol. Seams to be about the same quality as all of the other ones on the market.
  5. By chance do you remember where you order them from? Also I noticed on Rockauto there appeals to be an aftermarket one that's made out of copper. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=3922491&cc=1180314&pt=6864&jsn=1612 . Anyone has any experience with GPD?
  6. Hello y'all, Unfortunately, recently I went to clean my truck interior and was greeted by the terrific pond of coolant in my passenger foot well. I trace the leak to my heater box and most likely my heater core has gave up the ghost. I wanted to see what's the best replacement heater core and has anyone used this one that I found on summit racing. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/rcg-18-11786 Another one I'm considering is just getting one from Advance auto parts. Surprisedly my local store has one in stock. In addition, any tips or tricks to doing this repair would be appreciated. Thanks
  7. Yes but I'm going through be swapping in the HO gauge cluster so I'm getting rid of the remix cable driven speedometer.
  8. Mph. Sending a PM your way.
  9. As the title says I'm looking for the rare 120mph speedometer from a 92-96 UK Cherokee. I'm willing to trade or just straight purchase one.
  10. Checked manifold bolts and all bolts were tight. Check the tps with the renix tip technique and was in spec. Inspected vacuum lines for leaks and found no issues. Check alternator to see if engine was raising rpms to get voltage. For giggles I figure I would see if I was crazy in my guess of the IAC going out. So I "borrow" one from my dad's project Comanche and swapped it to see if the issues continued. The good news is when I went to the truck this afternoon it didn't even try to high idle. Ran smooth as glass. I appreciated the suggestions y'all gave me it did help me out with trouble shooting. Hopefully this helps someone else down the road with the issue that I had.
  11. My truck started to randomly high idle yesterday. Truck does not high idle on a cold start in the morning but stays high idle between 2000 to 3000 rpm when I get in the truck around lunch time and eventually goes back to a normal idle. My thoughts is that the temperature in the morning been around 30 and around lunch time it's 60-70 may have a role in this. So far I unhook the battery for a hour yesterday to reset the ecm and it still high idles in the afternoon. My next guess is the iac but I'm open to any suggestions.
  12. I will admit was skeptical if this would make a difference but it blew my expectations out of the park. I swear it's just a chocolate bar.
  13. First I want to apologize for the long delay life got in the way and I didn't have time to do the filter change sooner until now. Here's are my findings about 1 year and 3 months later: The coolant is more yellow than an alien green color of brand new coolant. Very low to non-existent trash or debris in the coolant system. Cut the filter open the top of the filter base has some metal debris from me cutting it open. The media is full of the brown debris that my coolant system used to be completely full of. My opinion if you have a worst case scenario you need to change this once a year or if you have a mild case you might can go longer. Also go ahead and change all the coolant too since you got the system open it doesn't hurt it and helps removes the trace amounts still in the system.
  14. Thanks for the information y'all. I going to swing by the junkyard soon and get some wj parts to experiment with. Also appreciate the suggestion on getting the wildwood kit. My plan I'm thinking now is just get some parts from the junkyard and try a couple ideas and go from there.
  15. I'm losing my mind trying to sort out exactly what I need to swap over the Wj brakes and steering on my 1988 Jeep Comanche 4wd. From what I can tell I need the following things. Wj calipers pads etc 2002 ford explorer sport Trac rotors that are the correct wheel pattern 1/4 spacers for the 4wd wheel bearings. Wj steering parts etc Any advice from anyone that has done this swap is appreciated. I'm just getting overwhelmed with the 50 threads on 10 forums that pointing me in 10 directions
  16. Well it's about time for me to cut that filter open so next month I'll plan to do a filter change and show you guys the results for me.
  17. It's not a remote oil filter kit it's design for filtering coolant. The base has a certain thread pitch to make sure you don't mix an coolant filter with an oil filter. Generally I wouldn't recommend trying to put an oil filter in place of an actual coolant filter because both filters are design for completely different systems.
  18. I really do apologize for the long delay I realized now you ask that back in June and some reason I never got an notification of you responding to it. I swear Gmail hates me.
  19. The service intervals depends on your own truck. I heard of people changing them at every oil change all the way up to 3 years. I personally haven't change it yet since I done the mod I have done about approx 2k miles in 6 months. I plan on ether doing at my next oil change or 1 year from date of install. I will update when I change the filter and I plan on cutting the filter when I do. Also I will try to make a video about my results.
  20. Looking good and it was great to meat with you. Hopefully we can meet up again sometime. Would love to see your Comanche again.
  21. How did I get my Comanche? Cont. So I decided that this one was one I would be interested in. I wasn't worry about having to do work since I couldn't even legally drive until 6 months later. I remember that my dad and I were going to look at it one weekend. Then on Tuesday Halloween night 2017. My dad was running late home which isn't too unheard of it when working for a delivery company. Then my mom said we're going to go to ups to jump start his truck. So about halfway down our road the road goes down then a 90 degree turn. When we crest the hill I saw the truck that I been looking online at on a trailer hooked up to my dad's truck. To this day I'm still extremely thankful for my parents for getting my Comanche. I honestly can't describe how attracted to the truck I am with the time and work I done.
  22. Well this has been long over due the write up on my Beast 1988 Jeep Comanche. I will be working on getting this thread up to speed on the current state of my Comanche. Luckily I got plenty of photos and did post on my social medias about the truck so it just will take some time to transfer everything over. How did I get my Comanche? Ever since from a young age I had an interest in Jeeps. Since I was 5 we have and still own a 2006 Wrangler Tj Rubicon that I hope I will be able to buy from my parents one day. Around August 2017 I started High School and couldn't wait to get my permit to drive. I was looking at mods and parts for my dad's Silverado and the Wrangler because I though I would end up with one of them as my first car. Then my dad told me about the Jeep Comanche. Almost instantly I wanted to own one. So that began a 2 month search to find one. We found one in Atlanta Ga that checked all of my boxes of what I wanted. My list of requirements were 4.0 litre 5 speed manual 4x4 which is interesting because at that time I never driven a stick past second gear on our small road to our house. Here are some of the photos that the guy provided. Here are the exact words that the seller used. He made a website and posted the link on craigslist. Not going to link the website due to his personal contact number is still up.
