  1. You could probably find an Army mechanic that would do work for some extra cash, seeings to how Fort Riley is just down the road.
  2. Wow! You are building one hell of a rig man!
  3. Two more pics of the test run.
  4. Yes, everything is still going to be gusseted and fully welded. It was done that way so that I could take it out and do some light wheeling and insure everything worked/didn't hit anything...that way if something needed to be moved it would be easier. Obviously we thought it would hold up a bit better than that for one little trip out. Won't happen again!
  5. Took her out for a quick test run. The 35s work well with this set up. Took a couple poser pics. The fun was short lived. The driver side of the front upper link bridge ripped off. Seems as though some gussetting is in order.
  6. Anybody still interested in this? Anybody else have an idea of where to go? Maybe we could get this moved to the pub like the east coasters thread, for more attention?
  7. Please PM name and address so I can send check.
  8. Is this place in Illinois, or Indiana? My google search shows Attica badlands in Indiana. Just curious.
  9. They are on my MJ now. Haven't taken pics yet, but will soon. Haven't wheeled them yet, so I can't comment on their performance. I can say that I parked my MJ with 35" STTs next to my JK with 35" MTRs and the STTs look way more bad @$$, and opposite of what I read on the Internet the STTs are the exact same height as the MTRs (lots of reviews say they run an inch short). So far I am happy with them, but will have a better review after I beat on them a bit.
  10. New flowmaster exhaust installed today. Tried running it with no exhaust but it was stupid loud. Turns out 35" Goodyear MTRs are on order until late November. So I changed my order and settled for a set of 35" Cooper STTs. Not what I really wanted but the price was good and they will be on my rig tomorrow.
  11. The unique factor definitely makes this truck cool. I must admit though, I think it's ugly as sin!
  12. Looks good bro! I like the color.
  13. BalterBuilt called me today and said the Comanche is about all wrapped up. Should have it back in a couple days. Said he drove it over some big 3 foot tall speed bumps at 40 MPH and couldn't even feel it, just floated over them. Here are some pics. Can't wait to swap those 33s for 35 inch MTRs! Tires should come in sometime next week. I'll post a bunch more pics once I get it back and have the 35s on it.
  14. Used ballistic fabrications coil plate mounts and adjustable coil buckets. Stock cherokee front coil springs.
  15. I have been keeping an eye on the members map. Looks like a central location for everybody would be in Utah or Nevada. Not saying we have to meet there, I'm just trying to keep it a central location for everybody. A Moab trip would be pretty cool. I think it has something for everybody...hard trails, easy trails, camping. We wouldn't have to pick a time to go that is known to be busy. I'm just throwing out ideas. Really don't want this thread to die. Would be cool to put together a CC meet. What you guys think? I'm open to better ideas! Reminder: if you haven't added your location to the members map please do so!
  16. I would think most jeep gatherings have something to do with going off road of some sorts. Doesn't mean you couldn't meet us at camp and hop in another members rig when we hit the trails...or not even go wheeling and just hang out at camp if wheeling is not your thing. I'm not saying we have to do some extreme rock crawling, but I would think it would be a weekend of dirt roads and camping....at least that's what I imagined?
  17. Exact same thing happened to me when I first bought my rig. Turned out several of the exhaust manifold bolts were loose. Tightened up the bolts and the problem went away.
  18. 12" bilsteins in the front. 14" fox 2.0 emulsions in the rear. Bed cage is finished. 9 inches of up travel alone, about a total of 20 inches of wheel travel.
  19. I'm sure the fire will be long gone by the time we plan to do this event...but if enough people show interest in a rubicon trip it would be something to keep in mind.
  20. What about the rubicon?
  21. I would be interested...I think we should start by seeing who would want to go and then decide on a central location. Moab would be cool, but from what I have seen on the board is a large majority of the western folks are in Washington...so Moab might be too far. I'm in northern CA and willing to travel as long as I get enough time to request time off from work.
  22. I agree with the map link being a sticky! Would be pretty cool to be able to check the map and see which fellow CC members are near by.
  23. I grew up in napa...live in ukiah, CA (Mendocino county) now. My work schedule is crazy but if I'm free I'm always looking for groups to wheel with. Would be nice to get a Northern Cali Comanche owners list going!
  24. Hey all, been a member of CC for a few years now but never checked out the area specific threads. I'm the owner of an 1989 SWB with 4.0 and auto tranny. Currently doing a 3 link front and four link rear. Check out my build thread for more info. I am located in Ukiah, CA. Would be cool to meet other Comanche owners in my area and start wheeling together. Would also be cool to get some kind of west coast comanche meet set up.
