  1. Installed a new power steering pump and lines. Old pump was shot. Thing drives like a dream now. Can finally feel the full benefit of the hydraulic assist steering. Moved the fuel cell to under the bed cage. Will be better protected and moved it to the side so it will hopefully help with incline sputtering due to lack of fuel. Took it out for a cruise around town. She is running good. Cruised on the highway at 65 mph. I think she is ready for my King of the Hammers trip at the end of the month. Here she sits in the driveway next to my wife's Renegade.
  2. It's my first year going. I'm pretty excited. I'll post plenty of pics.
  3. Anybody going to KOH 2016? I will be there Jan 31st to Feb 4th. I'm towing my Comanche down as well. Would be nice to see some other members and their MJs!
  4. Knocked out a few small things on the Comanche today. Installed new battery terminals (old ones were cracked) and a battery disconnect switch. Threw a new rear view mirror up. Nice to have one again. Installed a set of the newer style Cherokee windshield wiper arms with a new set of blades. Big improvement over stock.
  5. You take your Comanche wheelin and nothing breaks.
  6. Yeah, the angle of the pic makes it look worse than it is
  7. I did this years ago after going through three manifold in a matter of months. Haven't had manifold issues again. You can see the flex joint at the bottom of photo.
  8. I'm running Clayton LA on the front of my rig. Good setup, no complaints. Not a huge fan of the square DOM, but it hasn't given me any issues. Check out my build thread for more info.
  9. Finally getting some rain in California! View from my front door.
  10. I did 7 years in the army before I got out in 2008. Sometimes I wish I would have stayed in. Congrats bro, if you are happy stick with it. Thanks for your service!
  11. I think it's an issue if every time you are climbing an obstacle your rig loses power and starts to die.....
  12. Few pics from today's trip up the mountain. First trip in a long time that I didn't break anything! New steering and hydro assist are beyond awesome. Found out why my rig has been sputtering on hill climbs, need to flip fuel cell around so the sump is facing the rear of the vehicle.
  13. Got the front end all wrapped up. Made a few changes from the parts list listed above. Swapped in the WJ knuckles, with the brakes and all that. Sent the TREs back and decided to go with 7/8 hiems. RuffStuff crossover steering and track bar turned out great. While poking around it was found that my steering box was leaking pretty bad, so I ordered a new one. When the new box came in my buddy Rob decided he might as well tap the box and throw a ram on the front for hydro assist! Also changed the rear up a bit. Moved the rear coils out further on the rear axle to help with body roll.
  14. I saw one in northern Cali about a month back that had 81,000 miles.....his pitch just went to crap!
  15. I don't remember exactly which model I bought. It was a summit racing brand 20 gallon tank that came with a sending unit already installed. It did not come with mounting equipment but summit sells a mounting kit separately. Here is a pic of the tank in the bed before I installed the mounting straps.
  16. Yup, still running the Dana 30. It's a HP 30, RuffStuff diff cover, 4.88 gears, lunch box locker, Artec truss, RCV axles, Artec C gussets. I have spent too much money on my little axle to get rid of it. I flogged it pretty good on the last outing without axle problems.
  17. Took the comanche out on my birthday for a wheeling session. She did pretty damn good. Ended up stripping a nut on a tie rod and tearing a hole in the sidewall of a tire, but she drove home [emoji106] Need to start on the WJ knuckle swap with RuffStuff crossover steering...the stock steering is my weakest link at the moment. Snapped a couple pics...should have taken more but I was having too much fun and forgot.
  18. Ya I really wanted to take my MJ, but I have no way of towing it out there. Originally I had a buddy that was going to go with me and possibly tow the MJ for me, but he flaked out.
  19. No idea. A friend of mine talked to them a month ago about getting a few cabins. They actually called me! $89 bucks a night. I tried to call them but they have voice mail only. Says they return calls in the order they were received. I'm planning on being there March 31st to April 3rd. Looks like I'm only going to be in the JK though, no comanche this time [emoji20]
  20. I wonder if they still have cabins available? Finding a place to stay this late in the game is no joke!
  21. Who all is planning on going to EJS 2015 in Moab? It starts March 28th. If you're going are you bringing your Comanche? I just took that week off from work and have just started planning my trip to EJS. I have never been before. Trying to decide if I will be taking my MJ or my JK....or both. Hope to meet other CC members there!
