Here's how she stands now. Next up will be the JCR tire carrier for the bed, mean lemons battery cables (both currently sitting in living room), and hopefully soon Trucklites. Shopping winches, too! -

I didn't know that either! Got a pic? Very interesting. The cover is ODC American Rebel Manufacturing. I saw it on here and knew I had to pick it up. They are discontinued but are selling out the remaining stock - my understanding is they ended their license deal with mopar (who moved production of these diff covers overseas), so I'd act quick if you want one. Awesome made in America quality and it has already taken a couple beatings with no problem. I got the set for D30/D44 for just shy of $400, comparable to what you'd pay elsewhere. https://www.americanrebelmfg.com/jeep -
I see a lot of crazy cars here in LA but this one made me do a double take - drop top, wood panel, 1st gen porsche cayenne anyone?

looks like fun. I have a stock MJ axle you can have for free if you're ever in LA lol. D35 spring under. your front is just a high pinion D30 with CAD (Central Axle Disconnect). -

Power steering replacement
crumbscomanche replied to crumbscomanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Got it. I'm looking at maybe saving a bit more for the Ironman4x4Fab box and bracket. I'm about to replace my spacer (so I already have that) when I put on my JCR bumper. It looks like it's a heavy duty bolt-on kit, and offers Hydro porting so I think it'd run with WJ pump. https://www.ironman4x4fab.com/product-page/xj-steering-box-brace-with-blue-top-box -

New sliding glass window is in. This thing is sick! Can't wait to have it open on the trails. -
kind of sounds like what's going with mine. The top screw in the plastic cracked so now it flaps in the wind. Maybe you could give me some advice on a fix too haha. Side note- I think I'm heading to Gorman this weekend if you'd want to go wheeling

any chance you'll sell the passenger tail light? Would head over there but that's pretty much all I need

Power steering replacement

Thanks for the feedback. I priced out the durango box and WJ pump for about $250 from napa/autozone. If the WJ pump won't work the reservoirs maybe I can get that from the store as well. No recent luck with PnP or JY so I'm just going to get what's available for now. From what I've read it seems like you need the durango box to get the most out of the WJ pump so I figure I might as well do both. -
did some wheeling at hungry valley ohv. put a nice little dent in my front skid, too!

Engine Diagram - '91 4.0 HO
crumbscomanche replied to crumbscomanche's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
done. thanks for the feedback -
Hi all, looks like I might need a new p.s. pump. I topped it off to normal levels before a trip to the local OHV park as there has been a small leak, and I noticed after about an hour on a windy mountain road that power steering would cease to function below 5mph. After we pulled off to eat lunch, before wheeling, I checked the pump and noticed all the fluid I wiped away earlier was now back and dripping down the side of the pump. It did alright wheeling but wasn't that great over rocks and washes. It seems to be a problem for a bunch of xj/mj guys, and it appears the 01-04 WJ pump is the best bolt-on replacement. Can anyone confirm if it is a solid way to go, and if it is bolt-on? I'm replacing the steering spacer, too, with the steel jcr one when I put on my new bumper this week and hopefully that'll take off some of the pressure. Here's a pic as of this morning, thanks for the help!!

Engine Diagram - '91 4.0 HO

Will get this done -- sorry for the delay! The MAP sensor has the green plastic, correct? And the A/C expansion valve I imagine is the box covered in mud to the left of the firewall? haha -
Hi all, I put this simple sketch together for the engine bay of my '91 4.0. It's very basic and it will be common knowledge to most people, but these sorts of diagrams really helped me out when I started working on my JK. If anything needs to be changed or should be added let me know happy to do more if it helps out anyone. Edit: thanks @Minuit for the MAP Sensor, AC Expansion Valve and ECU suggestions
