  1. Are you missing the lines all together or are they failed. I have an 88 MJ and my line from compressor to condenser was blown open. I had my local NAPA build me one. Used the original as a guide. Also you may have to go junk yard hunting . Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. All my early MJ,s and XJ,s pre 91 use the oval key for door locks, glove box tail gate. Square for ignition. They used GM locks and keys. Chrysler owned Jeep staring in 87 but the Chrysler changes did happen til 91. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Both axles are good axles. The 44 is non c clip the ring gear is about 8.5 diameter. There is a whole lot more support/aftermarket parts available for the 44. The 8 1/4 is what it is. It is a c clip type. Break an axle out it come. 2 spline types. 96 and earlier is 27 spline. 97 and later 29 spline. The pinion shaft is larger on the 8 1/4 than the 44. Aftermarket support is limited. Either one will make a good axle. If your running 33 inch tires i would go 4.56 if you use the Renix fuel injection system. I If you use the later OBD2 efi 96 and later I’d go 4.10’s. The later efi makes more power that early efi. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  5. The brakes and hubs I believe are different. The axle shafts are different if one has abs and one doesn’t. If the 92 is non abs it will have the small joints in the axle. If it the 92 has abs it will have the larger joints. The later axle will have the large unjoints. I’m don’t remember if the 99 XJ had the low pinion front diff of not. I know 2000 and 01 definitely had low pinion front diff. If it is a high pinion swap it in. Just remember to get parts for that axle by what it came out of. Oh if it is high pinion the ring and pinion swap over. If it is low pinion they are totally different. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  7. Yes coolant flows through the valve when heater is on. And is bypassed externally but will always have coolant in it. It will leak under pressure when running. Will drip when off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. That is the heater control valve leaking. I have replaced many of those. They become brittle from constant heating and cooling of the engine. Easy to replace. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. 80w 90 is factory fill you can substitute 75w-90 for easier cold weather shifting. There is a fill plug on the side of the trans. I believe it’s a 15/16 plug. Get one of those hand pumps that screw onto the bottle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. 88 Comanche 4 inch lift. Right now I have the stock rims 31/10.50/15 with 1.5 spacers. I’m going to 32/11.50/15 tires but I want to go to steel rims 15x8 but I can’t remember if is 3.75 back spacing or 3.5 back spacing. And yes i would take the spacers off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Anyone know if the YJ Wrangler steering linkage fit an MJ/XJ. YJ has T style steering MJ/XJ have Y style. I know there are upgrade kits that converter Y to T style. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  15. The a/c compressor should come on in all a/c modes and defrost. That’s what all my Cherokee’s did with factory a/c Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Does your control head turn on the a/c compressor when the heater only is on? I’m fighting a poor heat problem. I did all the basic stuff new thermostat, flushed heater core. It helped but if I disconnect the a/c compressor I have good heat. Reconnect heat goes back to warm. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  21. I did on one of my Comanche’s is use the later 8 1/4 out of a Cherokee. Yes I did have to cut the spring purches and all that. The axle was cheap $100.00 bucks drum to drum with 3.55. That was about 12 years ago. I threw in some 4.10 gears and called it a day. Oh and welded the spiders because I didn’t care Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. 88 Comanche long bed. Ive lifted my Comanche with some used TJ 4 inch springs which gave me exactly 3 inches in the front. I’m want to go up to 3 3/4 no more than 4. My question is do I install 3/4 inch spacers or ditch the factory worn upper spring pads replace with a 1 3/4 spacer? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. If your buddy is still running the 90 Comanche wiring and computer use an alternator for a 90 Comanche. The 87 to 90 XJ and MJ use a alternator with an internal regulator. The 91-92 MJ and 91 and Later XJ use an external regular which is built into the PCM. Does the vehicle run? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  25. 95 XJ is OBD 1. It only has 1 o2 sensor. It is before the cat converter. If your vehicle has 2 sensors 1 before the cat and 1 in or after the cat. Please look at the emissions label under the hood it will state 1996 model year. 1995 pcm is 1 large connector. 1996 pcm has 3 small connectors. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
