  1. I ended up selling the long arm kit to a buddy of mine who has a Cherokee. Then sold the Comanche. I really liked my Comanche but realized I was not going to use it the way I wanted to. I needed a vehicle that can tow 5500 lbs. Comanche was good for 2500. I did buy a WJ so I did NOT leave the Jeep family. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. If you have a 4.7 don’t over heat it. Maintain your cooling system! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. 88 Comanche long bed 4.0 4x4 automatic. I’m getting close to do my spring over. That way I can get rid off all the add a leaf’s and longer shackles. My question is will my driveshaft be long enough to use until I do my slip yoke kit with a double Cardin ujoints at a later date. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Has anyone done the Volvo G80 locker swap into the front Dana 30 on a Comanche. There are several old articles out there and a few YouTube videos from years past. The Volvo locker is 1/2 the cost of a truetrac and other lockers. I’ve read you do have to 3/8 inch off the left side axle shaft. Not a deal killer! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Wow my simple question turned into A great chat about other options other than the 95/96 booster upgrade. Thank you all. Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks cruiser54 on the tip. That brake switch looks like what I used on my 87 XJ 15 years ago. I did the rod modification on my 88 MJ. I sold my 87 XJ 12 years and have forgotten most of everything Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Does anyone know if a steering gear from a 97 XJ fit an 88 MJ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. My 88 Comanche I did the 95/96 power booster upgrade. Well after a couple of years the booster is leaking down vacuum. I just acquired a 97 Cherokee rolling body that still Has the master cylinder and power booster. Will that one bolt up like the 995/96? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Has anyone stuffed a Dodge truck 9 1/4 diff under there Comanche? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. There was an old article years ago on the NAXJA forums for Renix performance tips and tricks. 1 I remember is to relocate the intake temp sensor from the intake manifold of course plug the hole. Extend the wiring. Relocate to either intake tube or intake box. The article stated the computer will think it’s cooler and add a little more fuel for better performance. The article stated Renix engine run on the lean side. Has anyone done this. I know most modern vehicles that use an intake temp sensor are running on the intake tube not in the manifold. 11. 91 is obd 1 96 is obd2 May not working. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. No toss them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Look up cruiser54.com. All the info is there Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Thorley headers had made a few prototypes in the early 2000’s for the Renix engines it I don’t think they went into production. I was living in So Ca at the time and they used my 89 Comanche as one of there test vehicles. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Does anyone know if the map sensor also reads barometric pressure on the Renix fuel injection. I know in the Chrysler injection the map sensor reads both. I’m fighting some drivability issues on my 88 Comanche. I was able to borrow a Chrysler drb2 with the Jeep/eagle diagnostic connector. I found my map sensor reads I have 11.7 hg +_ of vacuum when running my mechanical gauge shows 17 hg. The weather app shows barometric pressure for my area is 29.78 the drb shows 28.2. Yes I’ve done the cruiser54 vacuum line and fitting modification on the throttle body. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. That’s exactly what was talking about. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Has anyone noticed how many companies are making drop brackets lately? There all copies of the original Rubicon Express ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Yes I can make out it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. The last of my parts are arriving for my long arm install. I’ve done a few of the on Cherokee’s. On the Cherokee the lower control arm brackets are pretty easy to cut off. The Comanche has the additional lower control arm reinforcement. Can you cut just the inner parts of the brackets and leave the outer reinforcement? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Kinda cool. I think it would be great on a truck that does some hard wheeling. I’ve broken a taillight or 2 and good used replacements are extremely difficult to get. Also you could remove and put away the factory ones and use these. Yea I’m interested Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. I received an email from Core 4x4 this morning. They accidentally sent XJ brackets instead of MJ brackets. Cool problem solved. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. .It’s just frustrating that many companies assume the Comanche is the same as the Cherokee. I’ve reached out to Core. I don’t mind cutting and modifying the bracket but there product website states lifetime warranty. I break it no questions warranty. But some state if you modify no warranty! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. I sent them an email with pictures. I wasn’t sure if other have run across this with other kits too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Who here has done a long arm upgrade? I ordered a long arm kit from Core 4x4 a 4 link set up. The frame brackets bolt to the bottom of the frame and wrap around the outside of the frame. That’s where the issue lies. Comanche and Cherokee are different. Comanche has welded on cab supports. Cherokee does not! I’m thinking most manufacturers assume Comanche and Cherokee are the same. Wrong! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I had a Synergy track bar on a XJ. They had you drill out the stock lower holes. The bar came with a reinforced plate to go on the axles. A larger bolt and nut. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
