  1. so, to be clear, I can change my stock MJ power to manual without getting new doors? It's a matter of swapping the motor with a crank?
  2. One more thought. Straight-up bees wax may work. Usually, repels dust and is easy, easy to reapply when/if needed. Also water-proofs.

I had a bat fly in my basement shop last year. Funny thing is, I didn't see it fly out and I have not seen hide nor hair of it since!
  4. You put a Walnut butcher block outdoors?
  5. Oil will always darken or golden. Water-based poly will stay clear.
  6. Seat images.

Need some resto. Work as far as I know. I'll verify and get back to you.

Spoke with the owner. He said these seats were a trade. They are untested and he's not sure what Jeep they came out of. He like to get $75 for them. Seems like a good price even if you don't use the electronics. Shipping won't be pretty, but I'll look at all options if you like.

  7. I have a stock bench. Everything I need is already there, correct? Sent from my MJ-MIM (Messaging Interface Module)
  8. Potentially dumb question here. These 1990 XJ seats will fit as long as I do the bracket swap from my bench, correct?
  9. Yeah, I saw that post after I asked, thanks. It is a good price. Unfortunately, I'm in NC so, you know. Distance and stuff.
  10. It does look great! I'm jealous riding around in a rattle can paint job the PO applied. BTW, whatcha doing with those removed turbines?
  11. Good ideas! I think the conduit will be my first attempt. Sounds sturdy and cheap.
  12. I have a heavy plastic tool box/tote I want to mount in my truck, but don't know how to do it without drilling holes in the bed. The box is like a Tuff Stuff type box without wheels. Any ideas on how to install as a temp./removable box?
  13. What!!!??? So, I guess the home improvement people are "actors" too?
  14. You may not need much info. I had a neighbor who would just buy cars, wash them, and resell for $500 to 2K more than he paid. Not a lot of money, but not bad either.
  15. As long as you keep it "Carbon Neutral".
  16. I have a love/hate relationship with CL for all of the above reasons. When it works, it's works very well. However, I would agree that the seller could have made a greater effort to give you a head's up. Assuming he was able too, that is. Like they say in Mexico. "Chit Happens!!!"
  17. Was going to go with ceramic, but none to found locally. After I fix the wear issue, I'll likely order some.
  18. I think its all original hardware. Looks like I need to rebuild or something.
  19. These front pads are under 6 months old. I live in the mountains and that kind of driving eats pads up, but what!!!??? I heard my brakes scraping yesterday, checked them today and was very surprised at the wear. Clearly, something ain't right with my ride! Any thoughts or solutions, etc.?
  20. Does that rule out the vacuum booster? It's a loud hiss in the cabin, reduces/stops when brakes depressed.
  21. While replacing both is likely the way I'll go, I did some of the testing with these results. Test 1: I think the pedal dropped more than 1/4" Test 2: I couldn't tell much of a difference. Test 3: Pedal did not drop after 30 sec. But, did slowly drop with continued pressure beyond 30 sec. Power check valve was bad, replaced it BEFORE running the tests. That's as far as I have gone as I don't know what "18 in. of vacuum" means.
  22. Yes, sort of. I've just been thinking that it would be fun to build a restomod that calls back to the earlier Jeep trucks like the J10 and Commando. The body style of the Comanche is a good mix of modern and classic. I don't think it would be too difficult, or expensive, to build a Comanche that looks older than it actually is while still being a Comanche. Maybe I should start my own build thread.
  23. Amazing pics! Thanks. Can I assume that even if the bolt pattern is the same, the hole for the hub would not be?
