I have also learned thoughout the years the jurrasic park jeep guys offer a wealth of knowledge on the winch used (ramsey rep6000) as this is the same model used in the movie.

You are right eagle. What i meant was the tow hooks with the two sets of holes ar more commonplace than the winch cradle itself. When i had it on m 2000 i did not have a he filler pieces for the gap so i made my own out of abs plastic strips. Looked close to factory.

Sure ill grab some this week. I had it mounted on my 2000 xj for a few year and removed it when i got into an accident. The winch setup didnt get damaged but i decided to put it in storage for safe keeping.

I recently finished building my garage and i have my comanche torn down for a proper complete resto. Ive been going down in the crawl space under my house where i have been hoarding all my "some day" parts. Well i was down there today looking at my factory hidden winch setup and i remember there were people on here that showed intrest in possibly reproducing this item. I would like to offer it up to be copied and or reproduced by anyone under the condition that i receive it back. I can remove the winch itself and ship the brackets. Just just let me know. Would be very east to reproduce all angle iron aside from the factory tow hook brackets which are easy to find on their own. Obviously this is an heirloom item and i will only send it to reputable who can be vouched for.

I bought one of those 20000 lb recovery straps at harbor freight about 10 years ago. Its gotten my built xj and others (even some full size vehicles) unstuck at least 50 times over the years and it still holding up fine its lasted through 3 jeeps.

86 2.5l 2wd restoration/work truck
strictlyxjs replied to strictlyxjs's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
So I'm tearing the truck down in my newly built garage to do a more "thorough" restoration now that i have the space. I started tearing into the rockers and inner rockers today. Current plans are to redo body work correctly and 4wd swap and have the truck ready to paint in the spring. I want to paint it white again but correctly with real automotive paint -
Yea hes a nice guy. I was supposed to send him a renix coolant bottle (his is/was cracked) but he never called me. Hope he got it fixed.
