Ive heard from several people that have visited mephis that some of the best music they ever heard was at some of the more hole in the wall places rather than the typical touristy type bars and music venues. They have always said the music in the little no name places was out of this world good totaly different than mainstream country music more like southern rock. I hope to visit there someday.

Hi john i think my boss is trying to sell the vehicle whole. We put the original tires and wheels back on it so its a roller now. This thing is in immaculate shape aside from the motor being apart. Will let you know if he decides to part out.

Just wanted to share this rare optioned xj that came into work today. 86 2.1 laredo. (Note: we didnt take it apart it arrived this way). Like most with the renault diesel its a basket cased. Engine appears like it was hot tanked and ready to be reassembled. There is no rot or rust on this thing anywhere. Milage reads 160 but i don't believe that for a second because it had an rv tow setup on the front. Note the extra long bellhousing on the ax5 as well as the gkn front driveshaft. If someone wants to run the vin that would be cool.

I went to school to be a behavior therapist for kids with autism. Its a really rewarding career but unfortunately doesnt pay as much as you would think and can be very stressful at times. At night time and on saturdays i work second shift at a jeep only salavage yard. With the money ive spent on tools. (10k worth plus my snap on box) and knowledge i have from gained from doing that for over 10 years i could prob get an ASE and work at a repair shop, however if i were to switch careers now i think i would want to get into being an electrician (not a guy thay drives around in van fixing electic problems in people houses) I'm taking about industrial applications. I have several friends that do it and seem to makee good money and they seem to have fun at work. You get to be hands on and use your brain. Edit: Sorry for the lengthy post

Good price for some of the parts he claims to have installed. I'm always weary of people that write in the ads "trans has shift kit" I'm 99 percent sure if i opened the trans it would be stock. Ditto for most people that claim to have done engine work.

I have been having a heck of a time finding an aerosol paint that matches the blue on my interior. Ive visited my sem dealer and mom and pop paint shops around and have come up empty handed each time. Ive bought several cans through trial and error and none were close enough that i was comfortable to use on actual mj parts (I tested several on some junk xj parts i had lying around) Tonight i found it!... If youhave the medium blue interior rustoleum " matte nantucket blue" is a damn near perfect match! -
Nos running board hardware
strictlyxjs replied to strictlyxjs's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
My boss bought a truck load of nos parts from an old amc renault dealer. Sadly there wasnt much xj or mj stuff. Mostlt cj and wrangler. Also we must have thrown out 200 or nos jeep gasket sets. They were all brand new in the box but had gotten to brittle and beat down over the years to be any good. I found several nos clutch and flywheel kits for comanches still in the original packaging but sadly caked with rust. -
My boss got these the other day. Box was never opened. We sliced opened the bag to see what it was and sealed it back up. Even the instructions are there. https://www.ebay.com/itm/JEEP-Comanche-86-92-NOS-Replacement-Running-Board-Parts-OEM-FREE-SHIP/114034080691?hash=item1a8cf5fbb3:g:rsQAAOSwaU5eBRVI

Merry Christmas to everyone on cc. I spent the night scrubbing my female seatbelt ends because they were covered in silver spray paint from the former owner. I used this hand soap from harbor frieght. It has been huge help in cleaning up my interior pieces and i highly recommend it. I should have taken some before photos of these seatbelt buckles in reality they appeared unsavable beforehand. -

Cut out all the rust and new pans and patches in. Painted the whole inside of the cab and door jams with white rustoleum. Used a brush so i could get it on nice and thick in the pores of the metal and corners. -

how many miles on your truck's factory engine?
strictlyxjs replied to Pete M's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I work at a jeep only salvage yard in ri we have been open since 1994. my boss and i always tell people about this one 88 xj we took apart. The odometer read well over 800k miles. We tell people all the time and people don't believe us but thats ok. The brake and gas pedal were worn down to the metal. When we removed the speedometer, there was so much dust, dirt and dog hair inside and around the dash you would not believe it. The engine bay was caked with grease oil and dirt. The driver seat was held up with a block of wood. It had no brakes and when i went to move it in our yard i crashed into the chain linked fence. -
Saw a sweet black mj today route 24 north in fall river around noon. Had primer black tailgate and a nice oem rear bumper. Waved hello was in my lifted green xj. We passed each other back and forth a few times. Just saying hello if you are on here

Added a new rust free driver fender and new rocker welded in. The c2c rocker panels are garbage fitment and it took a lot of work to get it right. I also had to rebuild part of the inner rocker as there was nothing there. 99 pecent of the rust is removed from the cab now. I tore out the column so my boss can fix the high beam switch. -
Agreed. I'm fully aware that there are a few similar set ups but thats what my xj is for
