  1. In TX, it depends on the year of the vehicle. My 87 needs no cat to pass safety and emiasions. On the subject of a bored out TB making a difference, if you have a high flowing exhaust, intake, and injectors, it'll give you a bit more power in the high RPM range. If you have a bigger cam and better flowing intake and head, it really pays off. If you're bone stock, I suspect just cleaning your old one will have the same effect. benjy, you just hit a nerve. A pet peeve I have been having increasingly lately on forums. Don't take this personally, but I've got to vent. Your suspicion is wrong. Why is it that those of you who HAVEN'T done something are telling us that HAVE done something, that it doesn't work the way we have experienced by DOING it?
  2. He sure could use cores. Especially Renix. If you guys have some kicking around, contact Jeff.

  5. Fiat and GM owned VM Motori 50/50. Fiat bought out GM's share. Those V6s are great motors and Gale Banks is already hot rodding them. Who do you think made the 2.5 diesel in the XJs overseas? To rate vehicles on infotainment systems? Come on Consumer Reports......
  6. Napa and the rest have the bottles. Ditch the cap that comes with it and get a 703-1396 cap from Napa.
  7. I try to post it up in any new member's threads. At least those with Renix. Feel free to do it any time!!
  8. I meant 7. Your 88 sends the CPS signal through the C101 connector if it's never had the TSB done. See Tip 27 on how to deal with the C101. Good time to do Tip 6 also.
  9. Yep. Tip 8 has the simple procedure for increasing CPS output.
  10. It's just SO SIMPLE. Do the harness. Experience the results. Then, proceed on an upgrade path if you feel the need.
  11. You could have 2 problems on your hands.
  12. Probably not. 14. Yup. Works great. It's just SO SIMPLE. Do the harness. Experience the results. Then, proceed on an upgrade path if you feel the need.
  15. Who got 9 MPG improvement? Not possible.
  16. Then what's the coolant temperature sensor on the left side of the block for? To tell the ECU coolant temp so it can adjust timing and fuel maps.
  17. Real world experience right there. Simple and effective.
  18. You'll be happy. When I built the harness for the wife's XJ I bought NAPA's high end sealed beams, equivalent to the Xtra. They are now sitting in a box in the garage, biggest waste of $55 I've spent in a long time. Hella H4s. Hey. Do JUST the harness first in the name of science, wouldya?
  19. Make sure it's not a mis-firing spark plug. Put a new one in on the offending cylinder and see what happens, or do the old spark plug test by grounding it to the block.
  20. You'll be happy.
  21. They've been about $25 for a few years. Point is, if they do what nobody else's do, they're really worth it.
  22. That's leaning toward injector for sure.
  23. Not true at all on the first count. Harness only, stock lights, before and after, Stolen from a thread at JF: Big difference. Exactly.
