  1. Just an FYI. Here's a list of stuff I am liquidating in the Classifieds. I've offered it here on CC only so far.
  2. Yes. The Renix throttle bodies are all 60mm when Jeff upgrades them.
  3. No, that would not be the case. These guys are giving you excellent advice. The connector OHM points out could also be the issue. It's gonna be something of a hunt to find this using the process of elimination.
  4. https://www.amazon.com/260-8419-Proportioning-Adjustable-Compatible-260-12627/dp/B0CL78FGRF But, that's not all you do to get better brakes. You also eliminate the distro valve on the firewall.
  5. A lot of folks around here use lights under the hood. especially the pulsating strings of them.
  6. Okay, so here's what we have. Any 2.46 will work in a fuel injected application. You MIGHT have to install a fuel pump block off plate. You need to be aware of which water pump your MJ uses based on the belt drive. v-belt or serpentine.
  7. I've done it twice now. Eliminate the LPSV and distribution block. Add an adjustable proportioning valve.
  8. Just in case you normally don't cruise through the Classifieds, here's a link to tons of stuff I am liquidating after decades of parting out XJs and owning MJs.
  9. THIS^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  10. 4.0 Engine date codes The date code is on the passenger side of the engine, on the block, just forward and up from the distributor on a machined flat surface. The digits of the code identify:  1st Digit-The year (8 = 1998).  2nd & 3rd Digits-The month (01 - 12).  4th & 5th Digits-The engine type/fuel system/compression ratio (MX = A 4.0 Liter (242 CID) 8.7:1 compression ratio engine with a multi-point fuel injection system).  6th & 7th Digits-The day of engine build (01 - 31). 1. FOR EXAMPLE: Code * 801MX12 * identifies a 4.0 Liter (242 CID) engine with a multi-point fuel injection system, 8.7:1 compression ratio and built on January 12, 1998. Photos would be handy for us.
  11. But it does matter if you would like someone to chime in at this point with a possible replacement harness for you...............
  12. Used only. Moderators 20.2k Location: Sweet Home Alabama Posted November 21, 2016 New members to the forum, and some longtime members too, post technical questions in this forum but do not provide specifics of the MJ they are referring to. Like: Year of Manufacture Engine Drivetrain Body Style Etc., Etc. These details are necessary for responders to accurately answer your questions without guessing or having to ask what are the specifics of the MJ you are referring to. You can add these details easily and permanently by creating a signature or adding your truck details to your existing signature. Here's how to do it: 1. Click on the upper RH icon to open the drop-down menu 2. Click on Account, then Account Settings 3. In the Settings menu click on Signature 4. Compose your signature, or add to your existing signature 5. When complete, click Save
  13. Most likely. They can be opened up to 62mm IIRC. That's the size of the hole in the manifold.
  14. Early 2.46s had a manual fuel pump on the block. That can be blocked off. Your engine won't care which injection system you have or which cam you use.
  15. Use the 428.
  16. And make sure your rear brake shoes are adjusted properly.
  17. The cluster is super simple to remove. One of the easiest I've ever seen.
  18. 88MJsally here on CC got my entire stock of seatbelts. Plus armrests IIRC.
  19. Very common on bench seat models. Not sure I've seen an MJ without them.
  20. Intake manifold bolts and hoses?
  21. Any part numbers on the harness?
  22. AND, make sure your intake manifold bolts haven't loosened up!!
  23. Yeah. I lived and worked through that transition.
  24. Jeff may have cores ready to go and you ship your old one back. That said, he almost always needs cores. I've sent him lots over the years.
