  1. The guy with the '86 in Oklahoma was supposed to send me some pics.
  2. All swap parts are coming from a complete and running '88 XJ.
  3. Verify bulbs are correct and in the sockets the right way. Check grounds.
  4. Scratch that... 10%. Must be within 5 mph at 50.
  5. Speedometer only has to be within 5% on a brand new car.
  6. 5 speed is great for most things. I live 2 hours from some awesome rock crawling... auto is much better there.
  7. Finally, after 2 weeks, insurance paid off and I can start repairs and upgrades. I came out good on this, got enough to buy the donor, custom winch bumper, winch, and a JD2 Model 3 tube bender, die set, and pocket a little. Still hate that they totaled it.
  8. Possibly a bad connection. Check all grounds.
  9. Planning on it. I'm hoping the swap goes easy. My truck has little to no rust, not expecting any issues there. The donor is pretty clean as well.
  10. LOL, I knew you had to be from Oklahoma when I read that.
  11. Thank you. Trying to have a good plan going into the swap.
  12. 1989 Comanche Pioneer, 2 wheel drive 4.0, AX-15 swapped, 3.07 Dana 35 rear, shortbed. Build date is not legible on the tag. Sand Springs, Truck was totaled 1/17/17, but still being driven daily. Truck has red interior, with gray cloth bucket seats. Very minimal rust anywhere. Soon to under go 4x4 / auto swap
  13. I've picked up some info on what parts I need, looking for input on what I might be missing. '89 2 wd, AX-15, 4.0, shortbed Donor is a complete and running '88, AW4, 4.0 I know I need the following: Axles Transmission Transfer case Radiator for trans cooler Front driveshaft Have rear driveshaft modified From what I have read, I may also need either a cable shifter or a linkage for the TC? Swap PCM due to the auto? What am I missing?
  14. I need to go over my MJ and ZJ to track down vac issues. My ZJ started having vac issues after backfiring due to a bad PCM
  15. Mine had this, it would jump out of 3rd on rough roads. Replaced with a cheap one from Walmart.
  16. Much cleaner than the hidden winch on my VW Baja.
  17. Sounds like your vents on the tank are plugged.
  18. It cost them double what I would have settled for. They screwed up when they decided it was a total.
  19. Mine started cutting out, but kept running. Filter was full of rusty water, some got through and plugged the injectors. I ended up replacing my tank, pump, lines, filter, and upgraded the injectors. Pull the filter and see what comes out of it.
  20. Moisture gets in from the air they compress. They do need drained occasionally. Each use is overkill in my opinion.
  21. Looks like they have decided to raise the value of the truck and the payout on the claim. Waiting on the paperwork to be emailed to me. It pays to not accept the first offer and to do research.
  22. Thanks. If they had just not decided to total it, they would have saved some money.
  23. I've learned something this week. Saving receipts can help in the event of an accident. Luckily I was able to have all of mine reprinted. I have submitted $454.45 to them to add to what they offered on my truck. I also asked for documentation from them showing where they came up with their value of $2,655 for my '89 2 wd, 4.0, AX15 5 speed, shortbed. They used 1 truck for comparison, an '88 2 wd, 2.5 4 cylinder, automatic. I requested that they use a similar truck to mine as the basis, same thing they require of me if I want to contest the value. I fired off an email with itemized list of parts, with pics of the receipts to back it up. I really want to settle so I can start repairs. I have the donor lined up, lift kit ready, and can't wait to start the 4x4 swap.
  24. Use a set of junk injectors?
