Is there a reason behind the fact that you have your shackle pointing forward instead of towards the rear? Seems like under a lot of weight your spring would possibly go opposite of what I "think" it should depending on where the weight was. I am ignorant and know nothing of trailer suspension setup; so I apologize in advance. Just curious as to the reasoning behind it.

Actually that motor is the BMW M70-B50 motor and is only 5.0L. 290HP/330TQ The 6.0L (N73) was not introduced until 2003.

Another option now available. http://motionoffroad.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1498 -
I'd probably go with a 12" travel shock if it was me. Ext. - 30" Col. - 18"
-
That is correct. They look like stacked factory isolators; which is a big no-no. Glad to hear it's all 1 piece.

Think you forged to type the #.... Let me know height and how you currently have your shocks configured (factory mount setup, still using the lower mounts in the same place; or did you move them higher?) and I should be able to give you a good range that'll work.

The correct solution is a Slip Yoke Eliminator (SYE) and CV style rear driveshaft. You can help eliminate vibes often with a TC-Drop and/or shims under your leaf packs to help get the angle's better. However this is just considered a "band-aid" solution. As stated prior; check u-joints first.

'97+ XJ's are MUCH more prone to driveline vibes than older era one's. 3" is the "gray" area on the '97+ models.

Looks like you stacked factory isolators.........?

You should never have to use a drop pitman arm. DPAs should ONLY be used if you're lowering the trackbar mount on the frame, or raising it on the axle, otherwise it will CAUSE bumpsteer. The whole belief that you need a drop pitman arm with a lift has been perpetuated from the days of leaf sprung vehicles without trackbars. On these vehicles you wanted to keep the angle of the draglink as flat as possible to minimize bumpsteer. On vehicles with a trackbar (like your MJ), you want to keep the draglink as parallel to the trackbar as possible to minimize bumpsteer. With a DPA, your making it worse. A dropped pitman arm will also increase the amount of torque/axial loading on the shaft your steering box experiences. If you've ever talked to anyone who's running larger tires and had a frame failure to the steering box mounting area, they'll be the first to tell you that you don't want to do anything to put more stress on the steering box...

Why are you using a drop pitman arm? It's not needed...

There are a few "budget" conversion's out there. I'm working on doing this myself. I'll be using Nissan 300zx calipers with Geo Tracker 2 door front rotor's. You'll have to fab a bracket yourself but I do have it in CAD if you'd like me to email it to you.

I have a set available and am in Huntington so you could make the 30min drive to pick them up. $25 and they are yours. PM me for more details.

The 2nd one is the Jeep Casablanca concept. Jeep Cherokee Casablanca Here's looking at you, Jeep! Sometimes it's just the name of a concept that can make it super dorky, like Casablanca. This round-headlight 1997 Cherokee was European-spec'd and included a 2.5L turbodiesel. While plugging the familiar "go-anywhere capability" of all Jeep vehicles, the Casablanca was set to "extend the Jeep spirit into even more exotic, new territories. Jeep Cherokee Casablanca is designed to travel long distances under extreme conditions." And no long-travel, extreme Jeep should be without an exoskeletal roof rack - with built-in driving lights, apparently. There was also a canvas sunroof that slid back to open up the entire vehicle - perfect for the 12-foot bugs sure to be a part of the new lands the Casablanca would see. Bonus items included a tubular bumper and side steps, an integrated winch, a 2-inch suspension lift to make for 9.5 inches of ground clearance, and 31-inch rubber.

They will bolt up however specs on them are for a non-lifted XJ/MJ. So they will most likely be to short.
