  1. What year? Might be for electric fan, behind radiator.
  2. Clutch slave got to leaking so bad I was refilling the MC every 50-60 miles. Was just busy and didn't feel like crawling under there and messing with it. Bought a new MC and SC a couple months ago but just never got around to installing them. A couple weeks back I filled the mC with Lucas stop leak. No brake fluid. Just Lucas. Figured what the heck, couldn't hurt anything so why not try it and see . IT STOPPED LEAKING! I'm just going to leave it like that and see how long it lasts or see what happens.

Found out where the Zip tie came from. The engine has a block heater. Somebody used a zip tie to hold the 110V cord onto the oil pressure sending wire. The end got caught between the gasket and block. Tie got brittle and with the vibration broke off, falling down into the pan. At least the oil strainer and filter did their job. All the oil passages and bearing surfaces were clean. If I had another hour of daylight, I'd had the sucker back together and running tonight.
  4. Hey! Some body's gotta go first. Good luck.
  5. Contacted the gentleman. Just might have something going here. Thanks for the tip
  6. Well,,,It's different. Not sure I care for the add on in front either.
  7. Buy better quality tools. With out seeing it, I would guess head gasket.
  8. Yes. But I have found it's easier to remove the engine transmission as a unit. It's the two bolts on top of the bell housing that makes it difficult to remove just the engine.

Sheezz. Can't believe that at one time I made my living by maintaining computers. But the technology changes so fast and if you spend your time playing games instead of keeping up, then you're going to get left behind. Actually I had the stuff there all the time. I just wasn't recognizing it. The tip from Oyaji on the open tabs is what got me back on the right track. I'm running Windows 7 on a year old HP. The first puter I ever owned was a Heathkit I bought back in the fifties sometime. The biggest puter I ever worked on was the SAGE system. It took up a four story building. The power supply was in the basement. First floor was administration and maintenance. Second floor was main processor. Third and fourth floors were storage, memory banks. Technology marches on and if you don't keep up you get left behind. :hmm: :???: Ah well. Back to Klondike. Trying to beat my high score of 8200.

1990 MJ. 4.0. AX15. Was leaking oil from the RMS. Oil would run down back of oil pan and bell housing and drip onto the exhaust pipe where it would burn off, leaving a trail of blue smoke behind me. Unless there was a strong wind blowing from left to right across the highway nobody behind me could see to pass or be closer than a mile.behind me. I didn't mind the smoke but a qt of oil every 50- 60 miles did. Today decided to do something about it. One new oil filter, STP, not Fram, new RMS and a oil pan gasket set and I went at it. Don't know what the PO used to glue the pan on with but it would have been easier to remove if he would've welded it. Hammer, chisel, screw driver and putty knife and it finally came off. Bent the lip up so bad not sure if it's re useable or not. I haven't seen so much sludge and crap in a pan and pick up screen since 1950 when I tore a flat head engine apart from a '34 Ford. really curious as to what a end of a tie wrap was doing down there. I wiped the screen kind a clean before I thought to take any pics. It was almost completely stopped up. Suggestion. I used Permatex gasket remover on the pan and block. That stuff really works.

Yep. No matter what I try, when I go from one to the other, the first one vanishes. I type out the text, then go to PB for a pic. The text is gone. Also I can't get a icon from PB. I left click on the header and all I get is a bookmark. The only way I've been able to do anything is to type out the text, then post. Then go to PB and copy a pic. Then go back to CC, find the post and hit 'edit'. Not the most efficient way in the world to do it.

Anybody know how I can get the Photo Bucket icon onto my desk top? Before I had CC under Firefox and Photo Bucket on AOL. No problem coping and pasting. Then AOL changed and I no longer can do that. Now I have PB and CC on Firefox. I cannot copy PB and then paste a pic in CC. I need to separate these two Aps. Trouble is I don't know how and can't get anything to work. I've tried everything I can think of. No luck. Any help appreciated. Jim
  16. I think he meant 'wrappimg',
  17. The GF'S oldest boy bummed $50 from me for a tank of gas so he could get to work.
  18. Reminded me of the time I purchased a WW11 surplus battleship for salvage. Went through 1,473, 769,776 hacksaw blades cutting that sucker up for scrap. Had a set of shoulder and arm muscles size of a couple 55 gallon drums. when I got finished. Don't ask how I got it from San Diego to Pueblo. Altho the wheels that were on the sides helped.
  19. Anybody that would treat a piece of equipment like that should be neutered with a dull, rusty hacksaw blade. How much duct tape did it take to get it back together? . :MJ 1: .
  20. A piece of wire with a alligator clip on each end also works, and is easier to use. You can also take a longer piece of wire. Attach one end to the battery pos. Now you only have one wire to move, work with. And yes the tailgate is much more accessible. But then we can't have everything.
  21. I got some venison for the table. Don't know why that weirdo in the red suit is so pissed.
  22. Get a screw driver, or remote starter button. Connect the two large studs on the solenoid together. The starter should spin freely. If not. the starter is bad. Now short the large top stud to the small terminal on the solenoid. The starter should now engage and turn your engine over. If not, the solenoid is bad. The two bolts holding the starter on are 15 mm. The two large studs on the solenoid are 13mm. The small stud on the solenoid is 8mm. [/url Altho the starter shown here uses 15mm 6point some do use a torx. And 10-4 on what Pete said below. And before anybody points it out, that was a 4.0 starter. I had it laying on the bench. I didn't have a 2.5. Except for the mounting, what I said still goes.
  23. Already decided I'm going to go get it. Just because it's free. We'll see.
  24. Not going there
