  1. Apparently not. To me it's just a wrecked parts Jeep.
  2. A name and PN is on the door. Try calling it.
  3. Been in contact with a fella over in Monte Vista about a Cherokee. We agreed on a price and today I went after it. After making a 140 mile trip one way, this is what greeted me. Obviously not a XJ but a ZJ, or a WJ Whatever '94 Cherokee's are. 4.0, AX15, 231J, 4WD. So my question is, what parts of this will fit a MJ? And, is there anything on it that any CC members want? Spotted another MJ in Alamosa on my way over and seen two more on the return trip. That's rare. Any way if it hadn't been such a long trip, I would've told him where to park it. Friday it's going over the scales after I pull what I want.
  4. A good body man could have that worked out in 5 minutes. 4 if he didn't have to take a break. Don't make things any harder than you have to.
  5. I'm an old die hard film man. Still use a Nikon F with 8 lenses which just about covers anything I need, motor drive, uses more film that way, and a complete dark room where I do my own film. Can do everything Photo Shop can do. Just takes a little longer is all. For the digital stuff I use a Kodak DX3900 and a Kodak easy share C195. That is one nice camera. Don't have the foggiest idea in H*ll how to take a pic using a phone. Still trying to figure out how to make, and answer a call on it.
  6. Pull the radio out to where you can get behind it. Find the Orange wire with White tracer. Either take a sharp object, needle, ice pick, etc, and puncture the insulation, making sure you have contact with the wire. Or scrape a bare spot off the insulation so you can reach the wire. Get a 12V source, the cigar lighter is handy, and touch it to the pin sticking from the Orange wire. The back light and led should light up. If they don't they're bad and need replaced. If they do the problem is in the wiring between the dimmer control on the light switch and the radio.
  7. Can't steal something that's being offered fer free.
  8. I always recommend replacing both and on a customers engine I always do. However on my own engine I have used the old cam-lifter if after a careful inspection and measuring showed no wear. Do as I say. Not as I do.
  9. Didn't they weigh it at the scrap yard? That makes two idiots here then because that's the way i do it. I don't think of it as being an idiot. I think of it as doing what's necessary when you work alone.
  10. Anybody here familiar with it? Personnel experience? The ol' Hobart is getting cranky (don't know why. It's only 70 years old) and I've been thinking about getting a new one. The specs looks pretty impressive but before I go blowing two grand I'd like a little more info on the thing.
  11. That. There are people interested and would like to follow the project.
  12. $50 shipped. $40 less speedometer. Use your old one and keep the mileage correct. Or for $60 will reset the mileage to what ever you want.
  13. Actually it's eleven now. But who's counting?
  14. Why not just fabricate a shelf on the hump raising the can up to where you want it? Use the space for storage.
  15. Nobody needs more than one. For whatever reason.
  16. I've got a couple hundred .30 and .50 cans. No got any 20mm, Gonna have to get a couple so I can play more.
  17. Pete. You mean like this? This is a XJ lid. A WJ-ZJ is a little wider and deeper. I would think it would be a little more comfortable but don't have one loose.
  18. I can get pics with or without center console. Just let me know. Also with bench seat and column shift, Reread the post. Understand you're going to use the console lid attached to the ammo can and with no center console. Never thought of that.
  19. For Pete, [url=[/u RL] For any one wondering about the state of dis repair of the interior, It's not my DD. It was just the closest with bucket seats.
  20. I probably go thru 12-15 XJ'S a year that I pick up just to scrap out. Mostly just for parts for my MJ'S. I always get a chuckle when I need something and have to go to the P&P because I don't have it. I'm on a first name basis with all the guys there so it's not to bad. They are all aware that I have a standing offer of $20 for who ever calls me first when a MJ comes in.
  21. When measuring the spring length are they, you measuring in a straight line from eye to eye? Or following the spring arc? That's 3-5 inch diff there. They are the same length, short or long bed.
  22. Bible covers and other religious artifacts?
  23. I didn't have that much trouble pulling the thing. Maybe you should try it my instead of the way you're going at it. With the tranny on the ground. Not jammed up into the underside of some truck.
  24. Probably should start a new thread on this but I'm just going to add onto this one. Two days ago I swapped the idiot light panel out of my '90 MJ with one from a '87 XJ with gauges. The oil pressure wasn't reading right. After swapping out 3 different senders I read 'Sidepipes' post and advised him how to check it out. It dawned on me I wasn't doing anything like I suggested he do and instead I was taking a shotgun approach. Sooooo,,,,the logical approach. The wire open, ground test indicated the gauge was bad. Removed panel and onto the work bench. Double checked. Sure enough, gauge was bad. So much for following my own advice. Anyway every things back together again and working and the GF happy. I'm fixing it up for her. :rotf:  :D
