Blower motor turns backwards
Manche757 replied to olddude's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Did you try switching the leads? -
PM sent

Thanks but I just need the sockets.

Chlorine bleach will corrode aluminum and copper. Be careful around the evaporator and electrical contacts. Even the plastic and vinyl are 30 years old.

Bench Seat vs Bucket Seats: which do you prefer?
Manche757 replied to comanche47's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Is that the truck you bought in Montana just down the road a piece from coastal Massachusetts? It must have been kept in a hermetically sealed barn for 30 years. It looks great. -
Thanks Pete. Really just need the sockets that fit. Thanks!
-
The driver side one was stolen but the passenger side is damaged and hanging out. Torq_Shep is going to send imperfect ones that are missing sockets, if you happen to have those and are willing to part ways with them, let me know. Thanks! BTW, what's happening at the goat farm?

Torque_Shep has made the same offer. Also cracked but no socket. Let me find out more. But in any case, I am impressed with the goodwill and willingness to help out.

Some *&^% person stole a taillight on my 87MJ that mostly stays at the mechanics shop. Cut the wires. The other taillight looks like they started to steal it but passed on it; it is hanging out. I do believe we have a thieving MJ owner amongst us. Does anyone have a suggestion for a tail light that will fit semi-temporarily without hacking up the body until a proper replacement is found? I am not opposed to LED ones as a permanent replacement if they exist. Has anyone crafted a piece of sheet metal that will fit the hole so that a temporary replacement could be mounted to it?

It is interesting to read the comments about the CC names that members have chosen for themselves and the comments they offer about themselves.. I see new names posted in threads and thought they might share their information. This thread can serve as a repository of members and the names they have chosen. There are others that have been around longer than I have that might want to go ahead and post. A tv shows from the 1960s that is in rerun that I enjoy is Hogan's Heros. Schultz is the most amusing character I think. He doesn't seem too serious about serving the Nazis. One of the actors was actually in a Nazi WWII prison camp. When asked how he could handle being in the show, he said he was in a prison camp, not a concentration camp. The actor who played Hogan was murdered in real life. His murder was never solved. Another show from the '60s that I enjoy is the Munsters. Herman shows his frustrations in life but struggles to do things right. He believes himself to be good looking like Miss Piggy or Kim Kardashian. Fred Gwynne is the actor that played the part. He also played in a lesser known show produced just before the Munsters. The show was Car 54, Where Are You? It was about 2 cops that were often lost. Everyone knows a cop car is often called a cruiser. The show could just have easily been called Cruiser54, Where Are You?

Impressive. All for your own use or are you in the trade? Did you insulate it with foam?

Did you make any progress untangling your Willys?

Thanks gogmo for more great pics. I love winter hiking and camping out in extreme cold. Tell us about the current state of snow shoes. Looks like those are improved from the clumsy things of not too long ago.

The question was about the rail in your yard
-
Buck, his horse. lived to 45 in real life. Lornre Green also rode the same horse if you know Westerns.
-
I had thought you are a cop. Sorry. In American lore there were cowboys. In the 1960s there were "Westerns" romantisizing that era. The best known was "Gunsmoke". Matt Dillon (James Arness)was the sheriff. "Miss Kittie"(Amanda Blake) owned the saloon named the "Long Branch" that fancied pretty girls that "sold more than whiskey". A family show that featured whores, guns and shooting others when you felt the need.. Actually women in the trade did not have the heavy stigma that followed. Like opera? Courtesans were kept by weathly men. "La Traviata", the fallen woman, by Verdi is one of the very best. Did you know Benjamin Franklin had 80some illegitimate children? He is not called a founding father without cause. He lived during the "age of realism" and that was not uncommon.
-
What do you have going with the rail? Matt Dillon going to tie up Buck outside the Longbranch? Know any good law men?

Impressive amount of large black cherry. We will wait for your "studio " creations if you manage to keep water from spoiling it. Live edges noted and appreciated
