I currently live in Virginia Beach, VA right on the Atlantic ocean. We might get a big 6 inch or so snow every 10 years. I am going to spend 6 winter months minutes from Glacier National Park in northern Montana. Research shows average annual snow fall is 80 inches. In January and February it snows, sleets or rains 18 and 17 days on average. I need a dependable winter capable vehicle. The USPS does not deliver to much of Montana because of remoteness. Rumor has it that the salt that they put on the roads will not benefit MJs, so I will likely store (or sell) my two. I don't want to buy a new vehicle because of the salt and also because I may sell it and move to a different part of the world. Contemplating F150, Silverado, Jeep (Wrangler, Rubicon) or SUV. I thought the new Ford Maverick might work if 4x4, and high enough off the ground.

89Mj, 4.0, 5 speed manual. First time this ever happened. Has been running fine. Came out of grocery store. Engine starts right away and dies smoothly; no sputtering. Starts again easily. Engine zooms but tapers out. Same over and over. Gas tank slightly less than 1/2 tank. Any guess?

The grill is awesome and makes the look of the truck. I like the original level look. Your family has quite a menagerie of vehicles. Ones from the 1930s, with headlight laterns mounted on the fenders, are often considered nirvana for antique vehicle collectors. Any from that period? Chevrolet 1930s pickups had wood frames are rare finds today but I sure would like to have one. Mind if I ask how old your Dad is? It looks like he liked older cars when he was young.

How did you manage to find a bed for a 1940 truck? Have it made? Were the original front ends so low to the ground?

Not totally sure but think the turbines are the top choice of CCers wanting the original look, but then what do I know? If that truck passes the rust test, you will be happy with it.

I have two short bed trucks. Love it, but i really like the look of the long bed (with turbines!). Would a corvette look better one foot shorter?

Here is an odd one. Now and then the wipers will not turn off unless I turn off the engine. It might happen a time or two. Then it will be a while before it happens again. I had the turn signal/wiper switch replaced about a year ago. Maybe a defective relay? 89,4.0 .

Might the catalytic converter or muffler be filled with rust that collapsed and block the exhaust? I went through that soon after buying a MJ

Has anyone come across a speedometer replacement for 89 and before MJ? Aftermarket or rebuilt ones? I assume all NOS ones are long gone.

Is it a Great Horned Owl? Big ears are not visible though.
