  1. Assuming the highly esteemed gentleman from Prescott is not taking me on a snipe hunting trip, I did as instructed. At 50 pumps, the pedal felt the same as it did on the first pump. After waiting 20 minutes, the pedal felt the same as before. This is on the 89 MJ that has just been worked on with the initial defective slave cylinder that was replaced with another mew slave cylinder a few days later. By now, half of the CC has been out pumping their clutches waiting for your pronouncement. The 87MJ, 4.0, 201K miles is at the mechanics shop. The clutch on it is probably bad. It has to be snatched into gear and out of gear. It is worse when shifting the first few times after starting. In 5 years, I have put only about 1500 miles on it if that matters. I would appreciate it if you would have a look at another thread I posted just now about luke warm heat after having just about everything replaced with the cooling system.
  2. If the rear corners are good, cut them out. Those would be usable to anyone that might eventually figure out how to make tail lights.
  3. I will l Iikely need to have clutch replaced in an 87MJ. What is brand of most trouble free?
  4. Torq, you are really fine looking there. Were you really an inner slave when you escaped from the bowls of the Canyon Lands?
  5. 17.5 times the square root of 89MJ's age. Post a pic of yourself in the dog getup
  6. Pay online whenever you want. You don't need to wait for a bill.
  7. Curious lack of rust. Floor pans look to be rust free. Too bad the truck was torn apart. Is the bed frame in good enough shape for one of the beds you have on hand to make a trailer? B pillar interior trim should be an always save; hard to come by now. Looks like driver side is gone. Dash looks not to be cracked. Clock still there. Passenger side rear glass. Front rims worth saving?
  8. Took it back to the mechanic. He reverse bled it. Two days later the clutch went out again. Ends up the new slave cylinder was defective so he replaced it with another new one of a different brand.
  9. Check your credit. It likely was reported as a late payment and they likely would not bother to correct the reporting.
  10. I am not small either although not as big as you. I think you will enjoy the Grand Cherokee. It is a convenient height to get in and out of. The auto transmission issue is that it will not shift from one gear to the next as it should, but hangs unengaged momentarily. It will eventually go in gear but not right away.
  11. The 1994 Grand Cherokee did not offer standard transmissions, although they did in Europe. Not sure how much trouble you want to go through to install the standard AX-15
  12. I bought a 95 Grand Cherokee new and drove it for 23 years. 357K miles. Straight 6 they called "bullet proof" Never had to go in the engine but those mid 90's models were known for transmission failures. When the transmission failed for the third time, I decided not to throw money at it. Having a rebuilt transmission installed would have exceeded the value of vehicle. Loved it though. Great for driving and the ride. Lots of room for hauling or a trip. I think those early years looked better than those that were tweaked and came later. Never any rust. The rear ends are known for "roaring" but I never knew anyone that had to do anything about it. You don't mention the mileage but trans issues can come at 100K. Jeep did have a free retrofit for the transmission; something electrical if my recall is right. FYI, there are a few Jeep salvage places in eastern NC. Have a look at Watsons Jeep Salvage in Pinetown, NC https://www.autoyas.com/US/Pinetown/119847385407967/Watson-and-Sons'-Jeep-Salvage
  13. Your determination, focus and discipline served you once again. I will ask again in a year to keep you honest to your healthy lifestyle
  14. You are coming up on a year since you frightened us all. How are you a year later? How many of those 25 stayed off?
  15. Thanks son. I am thrice young Daeson's age plus a year. Deason is 23.
  16. 89 MJ, 4.0, Aisin AX15, 92K miles Long story short. I had a leak that mechanics were slow figuring out what was leaking. The culprit was the clutch slave cylinder that was leaking out of the bell housing. I had them replace the clutch plate, the clutch master cylinder along with the clutch slave cylinder. I picked up the truck Tuesday afternoon. The clutch engaged about an inch from the floor. Today, Saturday, when the clutch pedal is fully pressed to the floor, the clutch will NOT fully disengage. It will not go in gear when the motor is running. It has to be started in first or reverse and the engine has to be cut off to change directions. Driving without a clutch is not a big deal once you catch the hang of it although it pretty snarky at stop lights. I understand that there is no adjustment of the clutch pedal on MJs. I just left it at the mechanic’s shop. There are no visible leaks. Any guess what’s wrong?
  17. I thought someone might be interested http://view.e.fcaemail.com/?qs=13622d1408ebdd6ff61ee50d997d171e5feb1b1fcec24232f33bbd56f7ffa7ad7d95472625416b716949c45a0c7aba8531f63a0985deb8cd43eb287e5f575a1e906fe44a0d63fddb963eba41c6c9a5e9
  18. And how does that dark and evil MJ feel about its owner? Tell us about that killer looking bed. It has a military look to it.
  19. That might win a prize for most creative use of old tooth brushes. Any new tools of interest or new uses for old tools?
  20. Any new arrivals want to comment on their names?
  21. How is the J10 looking? Blue would be a nice color.

  23. If wishing includes models never offered, I would go for a 4 door, 8 foot bed with rails, no decals and definitely rust proof alloy construction. One piece front windows with the bigger rubber trim like on the Grand Cherokees. Ac and one piece rear window. Quieter cab. A user friendlier location for the spare tire. A richer looking dash. Same great exterior look. And indestructible tail lights and bumpers. A faster start from zero.
