Got the drivers spring and 1" lift shackle in. Raised it exactly 2" which is perfect. 1" from the shackle and 1" from 2WD to 4WD. Just as it should! -

I don't think metric ton leafs makes you a 3/4 ton truck... but I like the badges, what did you paint with? Eh I thought the 2500 badges were cool. And I got them from the junkyard for free. I just scuffed them all, painted them black with spray paint and then used regular green paint with a small brush. Then cleared them. -
Metric Ton Leaf question thread
mikekaz1 replied to jpnjim's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Speaking of which..... I also have a factory metric ton long bed pioneer with factory Meyers plow. I noticed the front coils seem much thicker then standard... is this true? And mine also has control arm drop brackets. Everything's pretty well rusted (along with the rest of the jeep) so I know these have been on there a long time. Would these two things be a factory option or an early aftermarket? -

I use a mix of Rusty's, Rubicon express, rough country, hell creek, unknown eBay brand, no issues with any one product. Its all whatever got the best deal -
I know I used to have a 1995 XJ that popped the rear line and I lost all brakes completely. Straight to the floor. And I know for a FACT that the old style will maintain brakes because its the same ones that's in my s10 which currently and for the last 1.5years has a popped rear line. And I still can brake no problem off of the front And downshifting.

I havean 4.0 auto with 33"s and 3.55 gears on mine and it moves around decently for me. Not a rocket but will spin the tires pretty easily -

There's not really performance upgrades for these. Gears change most of anything with these trucks. Injectors can help but millions of 4.0 run great without them. Other then a cracking issue I find the exhaust headers to work pretty darn good. And really don't see much benefit to "upgrading" and so forth -

Lift brand is all personal preference. Everything on the main market is pretty on par with itself. From the front doors forward everything is pretty much identical and interchangable with a Cherokee. From the doors back practically NOTHING is the same so watch when getting kits and things -

To post pics you need to use a hosting site. No direct picture attachments on site. I like imgur.com just make an account t and upload pictures to that and on the right you'll see the link codes for forums. I've found if you also select large thumbnail rather then original size it works best on this site. -
Bless your soul using gloves through that whole thing! I HATE wearing gloves working. It makes handling parts so much more difficult

Hit some hurdles on the way.... never thought about u bolts... yep there too short. Need to find longer ones. Also my new shackles use a a bigger bolt then factory so I went to rockys and found that 5/8" bolt fits nicely in the bushing which then is too small for the frame holes so i need to drill them out some... then once i got home i realized the hell creek springs use a bigger front eyelet bolt also. But its too big for a m14 but too small for a 5/8. So gotta go back and find more bolts tomorrow. -

Installing the hell creek metric ton springs! Got to it sooner then I thought. Well here's my trusty jack at work! And here's the comparison between the two I measured roughly 7.75in of stock free arch vs 9.5 of metric ton! -

i plan on by the end of the month to have the rear springs and d30 in. I'm anxious also! -
question for you guys... can you upgrade the booster without upgrading the master cylinder? i actually like and prefer the chevy dual reservoir/master cylinder. that way if you pop a brake line you never fully lose brakes.

here's a shot of the napier flares check out my build thread for a bunch more photos of them. -
the rods that go to to each of the latches should spin and thus shorten or lengthen. there treaded on the end for adjustment. I'm guessing yours are too loose.

Ya its a stick on trim. Bushwacker uses a C channel that works very well. I'm guessing you could just buy door edge trim and use that without issue. All its really for it to prevent rubbing/scratching against the body -

33x12.5r15. And offset I'm not positive. But I'd guess 3.75 or 4 from the looks of it -

I don't actually plan to wheel this MJ (GASP). That's what my TJ is for. The MJs main purpose will just be daily driver, winter plowing and yard truck -

I haven't put the metric springs in yet. These are still the (sigh) factory 900lb springs. This one I actually got in lower CT like two years ago. My first and favorite. I really like the flares, they are WAY thicker then my bushwackers I had on my TJ before. The only complaint I (kinda) have is the edge trim. Its an L shaped edge trim. With only one adhesive edge. And some of the tight body line curves don't stick as well as I'd like. For now its OK and will stay but I may swap it out with just regular C channel door trim. -

Rear tires sit a little far back in the wheel well but I think this is from how saggy and warn out they are.
