  1. Thanks! I've almost got the build thread caught up to where the truck actually it now. I've been having too much fun with it lately to stop and write build thread posts :) Haha yeah, these trucks are great fun. I follow the build more up to date on your Instagram though, is there any other big plans going on with the truck in the future? I ask because, you've got a nice axle, a great engine, only things bigger than that are cage links and even bigger axles, are those planned? Or is this where you want the truck to stay? 2. Truck is getting better and better! Oddly, I have the metric ton springs with a leave removed and soa with hardly any axle wrap at all. It'll hop once very lightly under a hard downshift or if I floor it over a imperfection in the road. But your jeep is coming together great. I like the awd launch in the snow, looks like it grabs and goes. I like the noted part where the pipes fall off and it gets suddenly loud, mine used to do that as well, ironically. Keep the updates coming! Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  3. I can vouch for John stating find a LS swapped one. There somewhat common, but depending on the swap and who did it they can be pricey as well. I got mine for a steal and paid maybe a third on the high side of what it was worth because the guy needed it sold ASAP and I offered what I had. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  4. How is your anti dive? What length is the lower arm? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  5. I have mounted the 97+ header on two different MJ's without modification or the front clip / fender swapYeah the lines don't match up but that's all. But I knew I was going to go fiberglass fenders when I did that so I wasn't worried about it for the time bieng. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  6. Yeah Cooper Bussman and Littlefuse make some nice products. I really like how much cleaner your installation looks with the ECM hidden away, but I didn't want to pass so many wires through my firewall, and I was already filling up the 48 pins on my pass through. I like how your fusebox is farther forward then mine, I'm thinking about moving mine forward a bit more this summer, and try to free up some room to make a cold air box for the intake in the back corner. Yeah I gotcha, yours is looking great. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  7. You used all the same fuse boxes, relays, and connectors I did, except the twist connect engine and trans harnesses. You'll love it. I have my Main fuse box where the stock intake goes on these jeeps, the interior and lights fuse box under the dash, and the ecu is behind the seats. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

  9. Everything is looking great! Glad to see you doing every thing pretty correctly and not cutting a to of corners! Keep updates rolling Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  10. What I failed to mention is I already have that type Of rad and three electric fans fabricated and installed in my mj I had to do fabrications because I have a 86 So cooling shouldn't be an issue for me especially if I look for one with an aluminum block , I'm sure iron would be fine as well the radiator even has a build in trans cooler I payed more for it then I did for my mj (let the roast begin) I wish I knew how to upload pictures from my phone I've been dying to make a build thread but I don't care enough to go buy a computer lol I'm sure I could use a friends but that seems silly I'll pm you and tell you how. But the Novak rad and trans cooler is sweet that what I have. With an iron or aluminum block it'll keep Temps below 200 if you buy there three fan setup as well. It's pricey but worth it. The cooling is solved once you get that. Open or closed. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  11. Just to chime in on everyone sayi g cooling and frame issues.... Novak solved all those issues. Aluminum racing radiators and mounts that wrap around the frame... All at a price though. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  12. I do really enjoy modifying the mj and I really don't plan to get rid of it so I think I'm going to just pull the trigger and assembling/collecting the parts I need I would still be interested to know if anyone has need n ls mj/xj for sale and what the price point was I have been in a couple of the situations you mentioned. Rare Comanche? I've been there with street Comanche #59 of 100 made... Sold for 800$, LS Comanches? , I've got one of the cleanest most well done LS Comanche s and I will tell you, I didn't pay even close to 10k for that, with a built t56 behind it. A expensive build? I've been there also, 25k into an xj and sold for the high value of 5500$. Jeeps don't have collectors value yet. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  13. Found a deal on some General Grabber AT2 set of three for 120$ with 80% tread...pretty dirty so I did a deep entire clean and treatment. Thought id do a small write up. This is the pic that was posted, as I saw. Once I got them Holding up to the comanche before cleaning Size comaparison...They are 285/75/16 (compared to 265/70/16) I took a medium duty soft bristle car washing brush and scrubbed light dirt off the surface of the tire first with car wash soap Next was the hardest plastic brush short of a metal wire one (repeat two steps above until bare rubber is visible like before) Bare rubber vs mud baked rubber first coat of tire shine to clean penetrating dirt and mud (10 mins then wipe off) second coat of tire shine to polish and set into tire (put in an area where sun beats and lets poores of tires soak in the shine) I wiped excess off to give it a more natural non shiny look. Finally before and after These tires are night and day difference, I have been searching for a good write up to clean baked tires, instead I made my own. I took about an hour on each side of each tire, spent twenty mins scrubbing and coating and waiting multiple times per side. It took awhile, but these two year old tires (date stamp) look brand new again. Its not a super hard or challenging thing to clean tires normally, but those of you who know how annoying it is with dirt and mud embedded into tires this is a life saver.

  15. Glad to see an LS MJ on the MJOTM thread! Congratulations brother...I think its so helpful to have someone with an odd build like yours and mine (and a few others) to be able to compare notes and tips. Your MJ is sweet and yours inspires mine as I'm sure ours do all.
  16. Mine does have the painless harness... Also, liking the headers/exhaust...just an FYI the ridgid headers to collector is what I have running on mine right now, and its not good, once it heats up and warps a bit it leaks, you (and me for that matter) need a flex/banjo pipe on one of the down pipes so they both seal against the headers. pics attatched...my exhaust is currently being worked on as well. I have the same headers, but v bands instead of normal flanges. I talked to another one of my LS-MJ buddies, and he actually used a LP D30 to drop the pinion a bit. not a half bad idea as long as you arent going crazy big power or tires. I May do that to mine and swap my 6" metalcloak coils to the 4.5s...
  17. It goes to behind the rear axle, and I just personally like the way Flowmasters sound. I have had 3 different types of MagnaFlow and a thrush, and always found myself wanting my Flowmasters back. On another note, got my center Co sole. Trimmed and back into place, for anyone wanting a write up on this system let me know! I know people have asked about subwoofer and stuff before. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  18. The SS got two 10 inch subs and an amp today, it now has infinity subs, amp, speakers and an alpine head unit. It sounds good to say the least. It will also be getting a flowmaster on it soon...straight pipes are a bit much while cruising.
  19. Getting one thing after another checked off my list. Got exhaust and tool box fixed up. Alignment and rotation done. Getting the yoke to get the front driveshaft back in, new 34in grabbers going on soon. Deciding to go custom tube fenders or glass like my old xj.(tube fender render attached). Gonna be doing something about the axles and suspension once I snag myself a daily mj or 2dr xj. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  20. Looks good, I got mine for a huge steal also, LS swapped, t56and a nice lift, all for 5k. I get asked to buy it weekly, and have had some seriously high offers. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

  22. Some of you may have noticed a name change for the thread....
  23. It's my bosses truck. '72 long box with a 6.0 LS, 4L80, CUCV axles, and 37s. The thing is a beast. it looks pretty sweet and it has the drivetrain to spare
  24. I like it! I am excited to see where it goes. I know I won't be the only one to eventually wonder about that tow rig, anything cool about it? other than its a cool old chevy of course
