  1. or get a new volvo with there auto trannys now...
  2. Getting rid of that T56. Every other LS-swapped XJ/MJ has a stupid slushbox... You obviously know how to drive a stick, so why get rid of the most unique feature of your truck? idk, to each is own. You make a compelling point. I do adore having a manual and be it unique at that. This truck is my DD and through traffic everyday can be annoying. Maybe instead I will invest in a cheap beater MJ/XJ to daily and leave this one to be the unique one...I will think about it
  3. Looks good, What are the ultimate build plans?
  4. Kind of a feeler....I have a 4x4 T56 thats ultra rare and a direct bolt in for a comanche/cherokee. less than 5k miles on it, would anyone be intrested in it? Iits a 5k+$ tranny, built to order and one of a handful ever made I just want to swap in an auto...Let me know It's supposedly built for 800HP as being part of there "son of transzilla" line.... PM me for more details http://www.rsgear.com/products/transmissions/tranzilla.aspx
  5. Thanks! Cannot wait to see the diesel MJ done and that shell be put to good use!
  6. All new slew of pictures regarding the engine swap, with detailed pics of transmission and a couple of the headers and exhaust....with some open header videos for you exhaust freaks. I live in a non regulated exhaust area, and I was still afraid of getting impounded, it was terrifying loud. Idle was louder than a 4.0 at full shout with a super 10. Spot my metalcloak long arms, to my knowledge this is the only MJ with metalcloak long arms/coils/duroflex/custom crossmember for tranny and arms. See my built D30 with chromolys, adams driveshaft, and my wilwood brake setup on the MC/BB. The custom fuse box where a stock airbox would be. WJ steering and some shiny billstiens. 28MM sway bar. Did a front end swap.Ridiculous overkill HIDs. Note the two orange circles on driver side firewall...one plug for entire engine and the other is for tranny. Two plugs and headers with some other odds and ends and the engine was out. Did I mention my GF and I did the swap in a weekend. The old engine is pictured and see if you can spot the piston slap. Ask any questions about the engine swap or tranny and now that I have worked on them I will be able to answer better. The engine we put in WAS and L59 which is a flexfuel(e85) version of the LM7(5.3 iron block LS) With 706 cast heads from the LM7. LS1 intake/injectors/fuel rails. Drive by cable LM7 rotating assly. and heads/ignition packs L59/lm7 block Rockland Std. T56 tranny which is pretty rare to come in 4x4 only from them. short shifter, sport clutch Magnacrap exhaust....flowmaster pending. Speedhut racing gauges can be seen in the video Also sold the Wildernest to JohnJ92313 on here and it is going onto a sweet project of his. He drove cross country for that and to visit his family halfway so props to him! thanks all! Pictures of jeep and all above here: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B1pAr1Ltx8bGcXVuY2NCajdOUjQ&usp=sharing My GF and I youtube where we videod the process as well. Our youtube is all jeep stuff so subscribe to see this jeep and her JKUR thats cloaked as well....
  7. This is not listed on their website... Very, very intrigued  I did try to find it last night, and I couldnt either. It was my mistake...I talked to the builder and the products that are novak adapt are radiator, fans, engine mounts and some customish tranny mounts, but the transmission is apparently guts from a c5 vette and rockland standard gear makes a 4wd version of the T56 can be found here...its a brand new transmission. http://www.rsgear.com/about-us/press-releases/rockland-standard-gear-is-making-available-a-tremec-t56-6-speed-transmission-for-4-wheel-drive-pickup-trucks.aspx
  8. Alright so You've got me intrigued... How exactly does a C5 Corvette T56 fit itself between a 5.3 and a transfer case... I am pulling the engine this weekend and swapping with another LM7 due to the old one having a mean rod bearing knock. For the most part it all looks like novak adapt adapters for T56 to Np231, It has custom length driveshafts though. Also will try to get the exhaust pics as well...thanks for the interest BTW!!
  9. The 44 is just sitting til I find a front 44 to put in haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk keep an eye out for tj/lj rubi d44's they bolt right in Yea that's what I've been looking for, not in a rush so just waiting for a deal to come up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The issue with those is that the only difference with those D44's and D30's are the axle shafts...the ring and pinion are not like the full size JK ones, only minutely larger than the D30 ones. So if you have the means, get a real D44 thats from a full size and make your own mounts (stronger ones)

  11. Your video must be cloaked and locked too. :rotf: I'm lost... Link wasn't there last night, and no evidence that it was... :dunno: Oh, I fixed that, sorry about it. Thank you very much!

  13. A short video we made, going over the sound, engine and a couple pulls with it.... https://youtu.be/Z2G9FOOPlK0
  14. Nice to see you on Insta and CC, I love your build, hows that JK D44? you would know me as jeeper.Creeper on IG
  15. Seats look like stock MJ/XJ buckets from that era. Nothing special, they do look nice - at least the seat backs look nice. Winner winner, stock XJ seats but re upholstered some years back. It is in fact running and driving, I cannot comment on the lift questions as I have no way of proving or disproving that, it came with the lift... To register it in CA you simply move to GA. All kidding aside, I just moved here and had an engine swapped vehicle in my future, lucked out when my GF found this MJ.
  16. Its all there and ready to go, but not setup yet. I have to make the hoses still but thats all. Ready wired and ready to go
  17. So I got rid of the street comanche a few months back as you all are aware of. I sold my immaculate XJ as well the other day, for this. Its a 1990 Comanche pioneer, it has the metric tonne package. Its got a locked D44 rear and d30 front with chromolys and geared to 4:10. It is dark blue, it's got custom metalcloak TJ long arms up front with there 6" coils. SOA in rear and all around a 5-6 inch lift. Now the major stuff: Built LM7 5.3 from a 2005 silverado with just under or around 400HP. A built 700R4 and a new/rebuilt NP241 T-Case. All the swap was done using Novak adapt parts and painless harnesses. It still needs some work, its not 100% done or perfect. But here we go on round 2 of an MJ for me.
  18. Took final pictures of the MJ and pictures of all the archer pieces and stock fenders from it as well as the plaque. Veiwable all in this folder: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B8a1ztA-G94mYWNlMXJaeTItdTA&usp=sharing The end of a 29 year old street comanche is here.
  19. I havent been on here in months, and I am ashamed to say that the Comanche is bieng towed away, one last time. My parents were fed up with me having more than one jeep and took it upon themselves to sell it. I did however manage to grab the entire body kit AND plaque before they sold it. They sold it to someone who has no intrests in jeeps or Archer or Street comanches. I Grabbed what was important and am not too upset. The MJ didnt have anything left on it that was Important to the SC, the suspension, grill, and driveline were all changed. All thats left for SC on that truck was the VIN information. So, I have an extra complete Archer Body Kit with the #59 plaque. I know your all gonna be upset that I sold it, but I tried my best to salvage what I could and use what power I did have to save what I could. I'm not pushing super hard to sell the kit, but I also have no use for it. So if anyone wants it PM me. It is complete and painted. It is in good condition as long as you keep in mind it is 30 years old. The truck didnt have original axle, suspension, transmission, bumpers, rims, or anything left of a SC. I will be on this forum until the body kit sells, (strictly to a member here) then I will be signing off until I get a regular MJ one day to build the pre-runner our of it that I always wanted to. Thanks guys. The MJ had a good run, but with a blown head gasket, not working Ac system, in need of a transmission rebuild, and a new bed, cab corner and paint. I hope the best for it. It is a decommissioned street comanche, and now just a Comanche. If someone is intrested in the body kit send them my way. I will be in touch with jeepnut for official registry updates.
  20. From what I've researched they were dealer specific to a dealer that is no longer in business that was somewhere between Los Angeles and the border. No specific evidence I have seen where it was actually at. They were developed only in '87, or so we thought. Somewhere someone saw one listed as an '88 but no VIN info to run it, so could have been a miscommunication. There were 100 made total and documented. Less than half are accounted for currently on the SC registry. And for the question about the SC package, it was a body kit, and suspension. Finding an all original, all matching perfect condition one is next to impossible to find. Other than 24 and I believe 52 that are on the registry. Even mine is incomplete. It was swapped with an AX-15, and normal MJ suspension, Body kit is dissassembled. Head gasket is obliterated, gonna need an extensive rebuild or new entire engine. Doesnt have a D35 anymore, has normal MJ and XJ bumpers, Has Sahara rubicon rims. Mine won't ever be as glorious as an all original one, but the cool part about mine is that is accurately documented since '87. Any other questions pm me.
  21. I didn't get the chance to see it, but myself and the owner of the SC website both spoke to him. It is believed to be real, it all lines up. The badge is the only odd thing, and it has not been describable yet. I have the all the contact info and pictures of that truck if anyone is intrested to investigate for themselves. 22. No hate from me. Since you couldn't flip it quickly, you now have a new plan and when that doesn't work the plan will probably change again. Seriously, I can't take anything you say seriously. But good luck anyhow. I know I have been giving off the vibe, thats why I am ending it with "stick around". Also, this isnt a new plan. Its the same plan as was before, and as with any project its never going to be "finished". and besides, whats wrong with having plans and amitions?
  23. Havent been one in a couple weeks, the Comanche has gotten tons of work done. Started with the brakes, all new calipers, drums, MC/BB, e-brake, pads, rotors, shoes, hardware. Then exhaust: headers, downpipe, plumbed, small rocket style muffler, goes out the side infront of rear tire. Currently its getting cooling: water pump, radiator, hoses, heater core, thermostat, t-stat housing. Next week is A/C: condencer, compressor, r134A covnersion, all pipes hoses. And slowly but surely accumulating new doors, fender flares, trim, bedside, cab corner. I am getting it painted, not giving any details on that because I know ill just get more and more hate for whatever I choose even if its stock red. So stick around....
