  1. Gotcha, just take your time and make sure to use a decent quality product and process. They will come out nice as long as they arent damaged. My extra set of wheels had clearcoat peeling so I powerwashed them and didnt go any further and you can see how much better the good condition wheels are, even though they havent been cleaned in a month or so.
  2. Dang, the wildernest from across the country is gone?! shame its gone, glad to see the truck is back.
  3. I used mothers polish. Did a really good powerwash, first round of polish with a ratty coarse rag, then clean, then another round of mothers polish with a microfiber. Gave it a nice polished, not shiny look. Very deep aluminum color. Spent about 1.5 hours on each wheel and it came out nicely. Just mothers aluminum polish compound. Before is actually more shiny than after (tire mounted photo) but I was actually glad about that, I didnt want the shiny look, otherwise id have gotten chrome rims.
  4. Thank you! Looking like the shell is being pulled off onto another jeepers MJ tomorrow, We will see.
  5. INstalled the shell again just because and I think I like it, definitely will keep it for the winter months
  6. photos of the rear end clean-up: don't mind the fiberglass hack, it has not been finished yet, hence why its not painted eiter. just hung.
  7. Not a lot has been going on lately. Been busy with work, welding school and whatnot. But this weekend had some free time. The Satofab bumper was no longer in production but the owner offered to make the bumper again for nearly 200$ more than it used to cost. Luckily I still have the contact info of the guy who bought my LS comanche that had that bumper on it and hell sell it back to me. But for the meantime I wanted fog lights, so i got some cheap chinese LED pods that were flush mount and scabbed them into the stock bumper. Last week got a fix it ticket for a tail light bulb so took the chance to change every bulb in the truck to LED as well. When I installed the bedsides and removed the rear bumper I never finished cutting out the old bedsides, and tail light surrounds. Plus I removed the lower valance behind where the spare tire mounts so i trimmed all that as well in the name of clearance and visual appeal. Lots of little wins while I'm patiently waiting for things to fall into place for the axle builds and powertrain upgrade. My 1979 F250 Hp D44 is being delivered before the end of the year. I can pick up a matching 9'' rear any day of the week around here for 150$ or I might just beef up the MJ dana 44 and throw some discs on it. I'm trying to gather parts for the powertrain upgrade but I'm very back and forth between a turbo 4.0 or a SBC build. I don't have to worry about smog, so options are open, Probably not going to do an LS as ive already been down that road. I want as little electronics as possible in this one.
  8. fancy seeing you here
  9. For anyone intrested my old Comanche is for sale locally to san diego, ca. It was Street Comanche #59, but is basically a sport truck is all that is left. Little do the new owners know it has a fresh external slave ax-15 and a built amc-20 with 4:10s in it.... Rustless great for a builder https://sandiego.craigslist.org/ssd/cto/d/jeep-comanche-pick-up-1987/6722387307.html
  10. Yep. This "daily build" is getting a little out of hand, and I am okay with that lol Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  11. Another peice to the puzzle... Picking up my new to me, freshly rebuilt king coilovers! 2.5x14 already valved pretty close to what I needed. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  12. Well, I heard ironman 4x4 fab was producing a few of these again. So I got myself a set of the rear double triangulated 4 link brackets Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  13. One of them, they are just mocked in right now. Gonna be taken on and off a bunch before paint because the lines need to be cleaned up and fitted. Once they are good and set they'll be mounted more permanent. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  14. Got the front end suspension done, all that's left is installing the ene track bar once I rebuild the joints. And installing the rear shocks. Paint, bucket seats, and harnesses are the next small upgrades while in the meantime I search for a donor engine to swap in. May do a v8, unsure yet. But front end handles amazing, floats over big bumps and potholes. Hopefully taking it out on some trails this weekend! Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  15. Loving the parts I am receiving. Front lift isn't installed but I felt like throwing the sway bar in and hitting some curvy roads. This thing is a Dream! Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  16. I'll start this by saying, I gave a good effort to keep this bed in good shape and let someone who needed it have it, literally for free. Not ONE person contacted me. I gave it until I couldn't wait anymore, and it's my truck anyway, this truck was for sale for awhile so anyone coulda bought it before me and restore it to original. Nobody did so I am making it my way because it's my truck. If you hate it, move along, it's not for everyone's taste it's for mine. I mounted the front and rear fiberglass today, fitment was pretty good all around. All in all took about 8 hours, and I coulda done it faster but u wanted to cut the steel besides off in a clean enough way so someone can use them as good patch panels. Mounted my 33*12.5*15 tires and rims as well. I love how wide it sits, it looks great in person. The front is sitting a little low still because I ran out of daylight to do my suspension work. So this weekend I'll be installing the jks acos, currie antirock, metalcloak arms, brake lines, and currie track bar. I didn't get time to buff, sand, or paint the besides today so there are still a couple rough edges that need to be gone over. Inner fender mounts need to be added. With these tires and track width plus a low center of gravity this truck handles nothing short of amazing. No under steer, no over steer. Light truck with big rubber patch is a whole lot of fun!
