I am mext door in Ohio and my uniframe and frame are also solid but the floor is getting suspect while the bed in particular jad major rust. Perhaps damage to the rails allowed stuff to form inside? That could be. I'm in Chicagoland and while my body was pretty rough my frame is pretty solid

I've seen build threads with people cutting out all the rusted areas and welding in fresh metal. I've also seen people cut off the uniframe entirely and build an ladder frame to mount everything to. It's definitely doable, just depends on your skills and budget.

That's freakishly like what I've been picturing for my truck. I like it

I bypassed mine and blocked off the vacuum as mentioned above. I'm happy with it

Opinions on temp sender in Heater hose
Tommy replied to ggcnash's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I feel like the thermostat housing is the easiest, but if you're set on that hose, give it a try and let us know -
Right, but I haven't found any cheap ones with a better white light. Just because they were up front about the color temp doesn't mean it's not a side effect of cost. And I'm not bashing the brand, it's been a great buy. I was just giving a full account

I put a 20 inch bar (126w) on my front bumper. It's a combination spot/flood(all center leds have spot pattern reflectors, outer leds have flood reflectors). Mine was a cheap Amazon one, Eyourlife http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EJFH6YA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's obscenely bright. Seems well made, feels like a quality piece. I'm happy for the $70 I spent. It doesn't throw out as far as halogens probably would, but it really lights up everything in front of my truck. My only real complaint is that I wish the light was a little whiter. It's a little bit blue tinged. Probably because it was so cheap. I liked that the mounts were adjustable for center to center mounting, which is why I bought this model. If that isn't to your benefit I would say get one with the standard side mounting.

Opinions on temp sender in Heater hose
Tommy replied to ggcnash's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I think if you run it there it'll kick on later than it should. I've read that the ideal place is I the radiator by the return hose. On mine, I switched to a later model thermostat housing. 10 bucks from local parts store and has a 3/8 npt bung for a temp sender. That's my spot for my switch that grounds my fan relay at 210 -
you'll be happy when you get a set of 746s running.

What size/thread pitch are the seat mount studs?
Tommy replied to sth5591's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Try m8x1.25 -
No experience with it but I'm sure you can find SOME way to mount it.

Yes that is the spot. You're golden. -
Electric fan temp sensor location?

I used the thermostat housing from a later model jeep on my renix. Bolts on but had a 3/8npt port for a temp switch. 10 bucks at the parts store -
I just put the same in my 90 because one of the originals wasn't firing. Starts faster and runs smoother than ever. Better upgrade than I expected

I cut the pin in half and removed the bottom half of the hinge and pin so I can lift the door up and off. Doesn't really help. But I believe people use a 7mm roll pin.

The Commanders are pretty nice if she wants a larger Liberty.

Yeah, I've had amazing luck with summit shipping. I'm a fan

Sounds like you didn't get the title and didn't really want it that bad. His friend probably didn't want his place to be permanent storage and he had to get rid of it

I'm not sure where you are but car-part.com might help you find one.

Picture request: Comanche on 37"
Tommy replied to Whisslaren's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
So, uh, what's your approach angle there? -
I'd like to get a set of Hannemanns, they also make besides, but the shipping kills.

The 8.8 is nice because it's strong, available, affordable, and has factory disks. 9s are great but they aren't as readily available for the money. I'm a cheap broke bastard so bang for buck counts.
-
Stock for stock, in its day, the 4.0 was very good. But once you break away from stock it's much easier to make power with a small block Chevy, though I don't understand the 305 over a 350 or 400. Plus a v8 sounds better.

Do all pumps do this? I've found some are more sensitive than others.

I just bought a set of 6 from eBay for 45 bucks and a rebuild kit for 15. I'm doing the fuel filter and an ignition tune up at the same time. Should be a pretty straight forward way to smooth running.
