  1. Made a double shear track bar mount for the new track bar, also worked on a truss and boxing in the upper control arm mount.
  2. Scrapped the getto fab drive shaft idea, just took measurements to have proper driveshafts built. Today i took advantage of the new coil overs and redid my track bar,i was able to add quite a bit of length to it so everything will cycle better and i won't get steering issues when i flex like most over the axle track bar set ups tend to do.
  3. So far the one in GA looks to be the least capable truck on this thread other then the 86. It might make a good driver but it would be a horrible wheeler without dumping a ton of money in it.
  4. I plated mine with 3/16" plate,I'm not selling kits but MJ stiffeners are available. https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=697135410359554
  5. I got some tube on Friday that i am going to use to sleeve and lengthen a couple front shafts for now. I figure i can at least get it to were i can test drive it before i get some nice ones made.
  6. Mines around 75°,the front of the tires are about even with the front of my winch but the grill is still a little in front of the tires.
  7. IIRC the bolt went the other way when i had my TBI 2.5l,i put in custom mounts without removing the alternator. For clearance reasons i put the bolt the other way when i converted it to MPI so i think i would have to pull the alternator if i ever need to rebuild my mounts. Either way the alternator comes off pretty easily.
  8. Mine is trimmed a bit but not really cut up,you set your bumps stops to stop the axle before the tires hit the bed. My tires with out bump stopping will actually contact the unit frame before they hit the bed,but results will vary depending on axles and wheel offset.
  9. I forgot about this thread, mine is on 37s now and should be driving again here soon.
  10. It is very common to swap gm TBI engines into rigs they don't belong in. There are many detailed write ups floating around the web, most people are swapping 4.3ls and V8s but most of the info should apply to your swap.
  11. I would love to get back out to Elbe but my rig is currently down for upgrades.
  12. I can't wait either, once i get a drive shaft under it i should be able to give it a test run.
  13. It is a tiny little guy,it looks even smaller with the 4.0l radiator and electric fans.
  14. I was playing with the 4 squirrels of fury yesterday, still dumping the exhaust at the header so its a little obnoxious but it sure sounds mean,i found that the YJ header down pipe contacts the upper link so it will need to be modified then i can start figuring out how i want to route the exhaust. Still needs some stuff cleaned up under the hood but its getting there.
  15. Either a bushing or a bearing is fine, as long as its the right size you should be good to go.
  16. I made the equivalent of Brown dogs for mine,my old TBI vibrated pretty bad, quite a bit worse them my brothers 4.0l does with them,my MPI seems to run a bit smoother so it doesnt seem as bad. My truck isnt a daily driver anymore so i don't mind it too much,it would have drove me nuts when i was commuting 90 miles a day in the MJ.
  17. I removed mine when i did my MPI swap, but not sure what i did with it. You can buy a generic one and adapt it as there are aftermarket ones available for race cars,Google engine torque damper and you should find some.
  18. This Rock Krawler 3 link mount is going to be alot stronger then the OPs stock arm mounts,i wish i still had the pic of a stock lower that had been torn off the unit frame.
  19. I went with 2" .250 wall DOM uppers and lowers on my 3 link with flex joints on both ends. My upper arm is on the passenger side and comes through the passenger floor board to Achieve about 8" of frame side link seperation. The lowers are about 34" the upper is a little shorter but within 85% of the lowers. All my mounts are custom made. Thats just my set up,i have a few other 3 and 4 linked rigs around of various configurations. There is alot more involved in a 3link then simply removing an arm.
  20. The stock mounts were not meant to be ran that way and won't like the added stress from the missing upper link. I have seen lower arms get torn off the unit frame.
  21. 92/93 AX15 should also have the same .750 input as the 94 up trans they are just internal slave instead of external.
