when i bought my 4inch lift kit for my mud ZJ i bought it right through rough country. The instructions were really sketchy and confusing. What i could make out of the directions, they chose to use the most difficult and confusing way possible. I was also missing parts but i don't remember what, they werent important to me anyway so i really didnt care. Josh

i alos had a real hard time falling asleep. I tried a hypnotic beat app i bought on my iphone. It worked for one day but after that I would wake up and my pupils would be HUGE! Then came the weird and scary dreams. I knew it was cause of the beats cause every night I listened to it i had the exact same dream. Freaky stuff right there. I also tried OTC sleeping pills and they gave me the jimmy legs, which was actually worse than not being able to sleep. The thing that works for me is actually pretty simple but it costs some money. Cherry juice. 100% pure cherry juice, the tarter the more powerful. Just drink 1 8oz glass a night and you will sleep normal. I drink 2 or 3 the night before i have the day off from work so I sleep in till 10. I don't know if its like a psychological thing or not but hey it works. I also close my eyes and think of nothing but the color black. Easier said than done, i know what your going through. But i went to the cheapest grocery store in town and found this off brand juice thats a dollar for the half gallon container. Josh

ooooooooo is that a factory LWB rollbar that I see? Ive never seen one before! Josh
-
how much did it cost you to regear? I'm looking at a set of 86 grand waggy D44 with 2.07 gears and will deffinatly need regeared. Josh
-
i personally like the double roll bar better, something just seems out of place to me with just the one. as for paint, why not zebra stripes? best of both worlds :D Josh

eh, it'll buff out! Josh

Thoes things are really cool! I saw on on eBay a long time ago and the seller said they were sold strictly for outside the US, if I remember correctly. Josh

why is there such a demand for the cab vents? right now i could probably get about 7 pairs if i do some driving around. Josh

:rotf: copart is nice for cheap stuff. i signed up awhile ago to bid on a parts MJ from a flood in TN but the more i researched it, the more i didnt like it. The auction i wanted you had to have a dealers licence, which i did not, so i went around to different boneyards and cheapy lots seeing if they would bid on it, i would pay them in full for the truck plus extra cash for doing me a favor, and go pick it up myself. Well the one yard that I'm kinda on a good note with said theres alot more fees that what the auction ends at. The MJ ended up going for $350 i think and he said youll more than double that in stupid fees they have before you even take it off the copart lot. And now a side story....while searching for someone willing to buy the truck for me, one of my stops was Daveys Jeeps in salem ohio. he wouldnt buy the truck cause he "doesnt deal with comanches at all. there is no longer a market for them" after the auction ended about 2 weeks later the MJ shows up infront of his shop :fs1: I will never shop daveys jeeps again!! i guess it was kinda stupid to pass it up. i might go get that bumper for jimmy and for $35 i think the gate is a good investment, even if it helps out a fellow member down the road. Josh

yupp i got you the vents! i hope you didnt need the little rubber flaps under the vent...i didnt grab them but i have an extra set you can have if you need them. i can also grab/try to grab that bumper for you if youd like. i might go up tuesday morning to grab that gate for rob plus some mudflaps and a little wiring and the factory comanche bedliner. anyone else need some parts i can grab? just pay me the cost of the part and shipping if applicable! Josh
-
i can go back and grab that gate if youd like, I'm not really looking for a new gate since i have a few but what else you got to trade? i will also go grab the VINs off both of them. its also got decent chrome door handles that i was going to grab and i forgot. Josh

so i was rooting through the junkyard today and what did i stumble upon? a 1986 MJ XLS 4X4!! first things first; all the emblems except the one slanted COMANCHE which i grabbed. It had the tailights with the grooves painted silver or white I'm not sure. i tried to grab them but upon inspection, they were trash. there was an almost rust free tailgate but someone took the internals so i passed it up. factory fiberglass camper shell that someone smashed all the windows and broke the frame for it. rear chrome step bumper was rusted away and someone had already taken the bumper lights. stuff i did find though was pretty awesome! the gauge cluster was the one with the speedo, the big fuel gauge, the AMC low gas light, and regular gauges. what was different was that there was no parking indicator but it was a column shift? mounted on the steering column right above the ignition was the park indicator! i was so exited when i found that! i grabbed the cluster and the indicator (and took a picture of it!) i also found a cargo light with a switch that was intact! and my most exciting find was a mint condition factory AMC blue black lit screen AM/FM radio. i also stopped at another comanche on the yard and grabbed the tailights and some odds and ends. By the way if anyone is looking for a solid bed and lived near cleveland, check out the pull a part west location on kirby ave. they just got in an 89 white shortbed with an imaculate bed and body. from what i could see there was only light surface rust right next ot where the rear fender flare starts on the driver side. I was going to get it but i didnt have the toold or time to grab it. there is also a step bumper on it but it is slightly dent but fixable. everything is really solid on the truck here is a picture of the park indicator: Josh

jimmy, was your sunroof in supermoo a factory one that you added? i know that it leaked but not much. is there any way that i could "rebuild" the sunroof to keep it from leaking? my dad added an aftermarket sunroof in his 85 mustang and it sealed fine, so my guess is that a factory sunroof would fit fine-er??? the GM lighted mirror upgrade i am already doing, but that maroon dome light would add more light in the whole cab instead of just under the mirror, especiallay when i do the LED upgrade. ill take some pictures of all my finds tomorrow. and FYI jimmy, I'm going to PAP on sunday and will grab your side vents for you then, as a thank you present for letting sam "ZJhayday" and i ride around in supermoo. ill bring them to jeepskool in november if you can wait that long. i also have one X but no comanche emblems. let me know if ou still need it Josh

so i was leaving work the other day and i saw this in our parkinglot and tried to be descrete about it. i don't know much about the libbys but i was wondering if this was factory woodgrain or an aftermarket thing. perhaps a "2002 grand wagoneer" like they did with the 93 ZJ? for thoes of you not familiar with the 93 waggy here's a junked one Image Not Found and here is the libby Image Not Found Josh
-
2grand isnt a bad price for it! I'm liking the the ZJ drivetrain but not so much the interior. 6 way power seats though... Josh
-
thoes pictures are awesome!!!!!! that looks like awesome fun!!! and thoes green XJs are immaculate!!! i found some pictures of some libbys wheeling... thats me in the "challenges authority" shirt and thats my green ZJ. mvusse is the tall guy in the very last picture and off in the distance you can see his MJ. there were 3 libbys stuck in a line. the red one had the sunroof open and the silver one spun the tires and mud shot all into the red one. P.S. don't shop daveysjeep.com, they screwed me over big time on a comanche and this is an old picture so i still had the sticker in my jeep. Josh

so i was rooting through the local pull a part and i stumbled across a factory pop glass sunroof from an 85 cherokee so i picked it up for $47 and change. well a few weeks later i came across another cherokee (84 or 85 i don't remember) with a maroon interior like my one MJ. it had a few options that i liked that were different. one it had a 2 toned maroon and dark grey dash (i didnt have time to grab it :( ) the other was door panels with the maroon vinyl on the top and bottom and a cloth maroon and white in the middle by the armrest. it wasnt a plaid pattern but i liked it so i picked them up. i also found a factory maroon dome light with map lights on it. ive never seen one before so i grabbed that. i also grabbed some coil spring spacers and then they kicked me out cause it was wayyyy past closing time. but now i havent decided which i should do? the dome light is awesome looking and it would be nice to have the extra light plus the cool little map lights would really come in handy but having a sunroof would be kindy handy too since i don't have a/c. i have to choose one or the other. on one hand the sunroof would make a nice cooling system combined with my vent windows but once i cut the hole, theres no going back and the dome light option is out. i thought about finishing the truck and adding it afterward, but then i would have to have my headliner redone again and i would have to be very careful as to not screw up the orange paint. any thoughts? Josh

i had one similar ot that from craigslist...i called a guy about a ZJ on my girlfriends phone and he didnt answer twice. waited an hour and i called him from her phone, no answer. called back on her phone and he picked up screaming at me saying that if he doesnt answer his phone the first time doesnt mean i should call back. he then threw some choice words into the conversation. then a post on craigslist "mysteriously" appeared under the "men seeking men" category with the same number as the guy with the ZJ. weird, huh? :D Josh

i have an AMC logo one in the midst...i just need to ru to the craft store and get some glittery things :chillin: Josh
-
yeah, i agree :D Josh

i like the graphic right above the tailight. the rollbar (if you will :D ) would look nicer without the hoop that goes around the lights...and without the lights I'm not liking the orange paint either but man that is still a sweet MJ!!!!!! Josh
