  1. Yes it is an auto. The fuse didn't look factory to me and I wasn't sure exactly what the harness was.
  2. Could this have anything to do with my issue?
  3. I've done most of cruisers tips (except for eliminating the c101 connector) and nothing has worked. It's still doing the same thing where it hesitates then stalls after slowing down and coming to a complete stop. Recently however I did find a wiring harness underneith the interior passenger side dash with a fuse that someone had added. I hadn't taken the dash apart yet but from what I can feel the harness goes into a metal box (or plastic box with metal bracket) that is mounted on the lowest section of the dash. I'll post a picture.
  4. I have a set of the truck-lite LED headlights. A bit pricey but I love them. They look black when they are off and have the "cool white" light when on. If you want I can post a picture.
  5. Correct me if I'm wrong but I was looking to replace my injectors as well and I was told that the Volvo injectors are a two piece injector and can possibly leak. I went with 98 dodge neon injectors but I have yet to put them in.
  6. I have the same problem with my 88. Cruiser posted some excellent tips (with pictures too) and I'm going to start diagnosing it today.

  9. I know that both of my pioneers do not have the speaker harness for under the dash but I never checked my eliminator to see if it has it. all 3 of my MJs have 4 speakers in them

  12. Oh an Adam, I my truck fired right up and drove. It's now down at my dads shop in strut hers if you still want to set something up.

  14. I've been having some audio problems in my truck. It has Kenwood head unit with 4 stock speakers. for my birthday I got some pioneer 4x6 and 5.25 speakers to install. Since I've owned the truck the door speakers never worked and I have a feeling something went wrong when the PO installed the head unit but I never looked into it yet. Now my questions....the tweeter under dash speakers that came in XJs, do our trucks have the wiring for them or do I have to wire it myself? also to change the rear speakers, do I have to take the whole b pillar panel off or can I just pop the grill off? It seems like the grill will pop off but I don't want to crack it.
  15. I have a full console that's blue with 4wd shifter. I think I might have a full cluster too. I'm alittle bit or a drive from you though....
  16. I probably should have specified what I have. I have a black window crank and I need a burgundy one. Sorry for the confusion.
  17. I took it to the repair shop months ago when it first started doing this and they changed the CPS. Fuel pressure wasn't consistent so I changed the fuel filter, pump, pressure regulator, pump relay. Nothing worked. So then I started looking at the electrical end of things. The tilt column was alittle loose so I though maybe it was pinching a wire so I had that fixed. Swapped computers with a spare one I had just to see if it made a difference and it did nothing so I put the original one back in. The first time it ended up being the alternator. That was changed it ran great for 6 weeks then it started again. I haven't tried it today yet but yesterday it wouldn't start.

  19. would this Tuesday work for you? If not Wednesday would be okay too but Tuesday would be better. The only problem is that now I can't get it to start at all so I'm going to have it towed to my dads shop in struthers.
  20. In short, a few months ago I bought an 88 4.0l auto 4x4 lwb. After a week or two of driving it it would randomly stall out. When you go to give it gas it would hesitate then stall. The motor would shut off but all the electrical would still work. After months of troubleshooting I found out the alternator would quit working after awhile and the truck would run off the battery till the battery died. So I thought I fixed the problem. Drove the truck for aboot 6 weeks then today the same thing happened!! I'm stumped as to what it can be.
  21. so i recently picked up my newest MJ, an 88 4.0l auto 4x4. when i bought the truck it ran fine but recently while I'm driving it would just sputter and stall out. the first time it stalled i replaced the fuel filter, and it ran fine. the second time it stalled, i took it to a repair shop and they changed the CPS. a few days later it stalled out again. this time i changed the coil and ignition box by myself. went to drive it today and it stalled out AGAIN! the only thing i could think of is the fuel pump going bad. after every time it stalls i get out of the truck and smell gas, but no leaks. what will happen is when i accelerate (either from a complete stop or just driving down the road) it hesitates to respond to the throttle then it will go a few yards and stall out. every once in awhile while in park ill let it idle and itll run alittle rough then clear up and idle fine. so far i have replaced: coil ignition box plugs cap rotor plug wires fuel filter CPS i have injectors out of a 98 neon that i have yet to put in but i want to make sure i can get this thing running and reliable before i do any upgrades to it. any ideas on what it could be?
  22. I just checked the local pullapart and there is only one 850 on the yard. Could those injectors be in a different model Volvo too? How much difference would the neon injectors versus the Volvo injectors be # wise.
  23. Did the 703s come in all year neons? Would the srt4 injectors be any different?
  24. I know this topic has been done before but What is the difference between the 5.0 injectors verses the neon injectors as an upgrade? I know both have 4 ports instead of 1 (did a stratus injector upgrade on my XJ and it seemed to make a difference to me) but are they both plug and play? Is there a fuel economy difference? I'm assuming that they both will make it idle better but I'm not sure.

I'm in eastern ohio but I'm always willing to go for a drive. i may not have the MJ running (going on 5 years now) but ill try to make it. probably won't do any trails, the MJ is only 2wd and ill have a fresh coat of new paint on her (hopefully) but if people are going to be camping I'm down for sure.
