  1. Cool deal! They DO look awesome. I wish more companies were making old-school looking tires these days.
  2. Thats why you pay the little extra to get tire insurance. Bought myself a set of 33x12.5x15 wrangler mt/r's & Sliced the $#!& out of one within the first two months of owning them, Bam new tire for free :D I always get Discount's road hazard warranty. I once showed uo with a mesquite branch as thick as my wrist through the sidewall of a BFG KM2. They just shrugged, asked me for my #, and slapped a new one on. That said, It kind of bugs me to have one tire newer than all the others. My OCD is strong... lol
  3. Yep. And promptly $#!&-can the cap it comes with and get a 703-1396 cap from Napa.Do you know of anyone who carries the proper cap for the 4 banger overflow tank? I can't seem to get one that fits properly. Not sure. Screw on? I would assume the same as a 4.0.Yep. It's a screw on, but it's different from the L6 trucks. I tried a cap off a Renix XJ and my own ZJ. No joy. The ZJ cap LOOKS close, but fits too loosely. My solution was a piece of rubber glove under the remnants of my stock cap. Ghetto fabulous! Nice. lol far from nice looking, but it's been working...
  4. What wheels and which 32's will you be using? Also, do you plan to trim?? I have an XJ on deep wheels and 33's on 5" of lift (Rusty's long arms and RE coils) and it has NO rub anywhere due to the aggressive trimming.
  5. It's not an MJ, but my ZJ with 32's on Canyons rubs quite a bit on the inside of the rear wheel wells. It doesnt hurt anything, just gotta hit it with black paint from time to time.
  6. I have no rubbing in the back, and that's with stock, tired 2wd leaves.
  7. The dye is a good suggestion. We let it sit for about 30 minutes with the pump off and it held vacuum consistently the whole time. I'm thinking about going this route. Didn't realize it would be that inexpensive. Where did you get that?! That's what I need. I'm not 100%, but I THINK the sale of R12 these days is illegal, at least without a license.

  9. Sorry, but I gotta disagree, at least with my set up. I havent bent sheet metal or ripped a flare off yet, despite being fully flexed several times and having no sway bars connected. Maybe my 3" coils are giving me more lift than advertised I AM running a 2.5, after all. I have a feeling most XJ coils are built with a heavier, loaded L6 truck in mind vs a stripped out, manny tranny 4 banger truck like mine (yay for base models!).

  11. Cool! Are you running them on the street?
  12. ^^This is for the L6 models, BTW.
  13. Oreilley carries the overflow tanks for the Renix Jeeps. Ask for Dorman # 603-300. Runs 33.99 and comes with a cap.
  14. Which is precisely why I listed that I'm running a 3" lift. Someone with a stock suspension will NOT be able to run the fitment I am without cutting.
  15. If you LIKE the way factory Jeep rims look on a MJ, that would work. I'm fully aware of the shortcomings of running aftermarket wheels on my Jeep. I like the way they look, and havent had to do much more than trim the inner liner and flare on the trailing edge of the fender. I SLIGHTLY rub under full compression and lock. I can live with that. Even if I totally FUBAR my front flares, they're easily replaceable with XJ flares and fenders. Again, not a huge deal to me.
  16. What rims? How much backspacing? 15x8 MB Razors. I'll have to check with Discount Tire for the backspacing, but they do stick out past the flares some.
  17. I rub the edges of my flares at full lock sometimes with my 31" BFG AT/KO's. I'm lifted 3", by the way.
  18. Nice bar! What kind of pattern dors it throw?
  19. On their site, BFG lists their 31 as being 30.7" and their 33 as being 32.7" tall. Pretty close to what it says on the tin, actually.
  20. Unloaded tires always seem taller than loaded ones...
  21. IIRC, my ZJ came with a donut that was the same diameter as the stock 225's. Got rid of it. The stock carrier can handle a 32 on a matching Canyon. Why bother with a "space saver"?
  22. Ok, so they also require an 03-06 TDI engine and harness.
  23. So how much would it decrease if I already had a old TDI engine/tranny laying around? Yeah those 1.9L '99-'03ish Jettas can be made to run 14s without too too much work. After a bit more research on TDI club apparently you need a really really old TDI because the new one has so many sensors and safety features. I was reading about a guy that was swapping a '03 engine into his '00 Jetta after his daughter blew the original. He was have issue upon issue with the new safety features that had been added in just 3 years. damn shame. I was thinking that would be awesome because those TDIs are definitely one of the better diesel engines out there (mines pushing 270,000 with no issues) and there are soooo many parts for them. Out of curiosity how do you think an AX-15 would hold up with that extra torque in the low gears? TDI: 100 HP & 177 FT/LBS 4.0: 190 HP & 235 FT/LBS I don't know how specific the engine is, but I do know that they do need you to get the throttle pedal out of a Passat. Drive by wire and all that... www.cotybuilt.com
  24. Cats are optional sometimes, depending on the age of the vehicle and local laws. I run mine cat-less and it passes with flying colors. I have a 24" Magnapack muffler feeding a fulal case Magnaflow muffler, both in 2.5" and it sounds pretty neat, I think.
