  1. I'm not using those hoses i need to pick up some YJ hoses but thank you Get some 95 C1500 hoses instead. Cheap, available, and good out to about 5.5 inches of lift.
  2. No prob. They are definitely stiffer on the upstroke than stock, but still give a lot of downtravel. I set up my ZJ for high speed stuff and these springs really help out with that.
  3. If the MJ carby is made by Rochester, then it should be thr exact same thing.
  4. It may be a bad bulb or socket. I chased lighting gremlins for almost a month until I went and tested each socket individually.
  5. An ounce here, an ounce there, after a while, it adds up! I'm with you on the resonance thing, though. I got around that by going with a bigger muffler preceded by a glasspack.
  6. Oh, and I plan on sleeving my D30 and throwing in a Ford 8.8. I'd better go on a diet!
  7. Your set up sounds very similar to mine, but instead of mud we have sand. I stripped the interior and went with aluminum wheel, hoping to save some weight there, but I'll soon have a winch and bumpers attached. If I get it too heavy, I've been thinking of getting a stroker kit thrown into the 2.5 just for fun, then maybe a MPFI conversion in the future.
  8. If you want to stay at around the same height and be able to carry more weight, look into the OME heavy duty set. I threw some on my ZJ and gained about an inch. They have a ton of droop and ride well. Killer rig, by the way! How does the 4 link work on the street?
  9. Why increase weight and backpressure? I dumped it down right after the muffler.
  10. Definitely!! Thanks!
  11. 33s....I don't want to go to high in tire size because I daily drive this truck a lot... But I do want to knock some power/torque back into it... I have an 87 2.5 and I plan on re-gearing soon, too. I run 31's. Do you think I should go 4.56's? I was actually thinking of running a doubler for more grunt off road and leaving the axle geara relatively mild for the occasional highway trip.
  12. Thanks again. It works for me. My first MJ was nice enough that I worried when I took it off road. This one? Not so much. The effort/investment to repair this thing far exceeds its value so in my mind it really is the perfect one to take a chance with. First MJ Dang! That is a nice one! It MIGHT just be that I love MJ's but I dig both styles of builds. All go and no show is near and dear to my heart, but a clean resto-mod like your first MJ is sweet too! Hopefully, I'll end up with something in between with mine. I WILL be stealing ideas from you, by the way. :D
  13. Interesting. Maybe I saw some EXTRA chintzy ones when I went to the auto-mart... or maybe I'm just over-thinking things! :) Thanks for the info, gents.
  14. lol I actually like that my truck ISN'T that bright, blue tinged white that is being used on newer vehicles. Again, maybe my truck has yellowed out with age, but I do see a bit of yellow/orange tint to it when the sun hits it compared to my buddies' Nissans, Fords, and newer Jeeps.
  15. Very good looking truck! I like what you did with the vinyl.
  16. Hello all. I've been looking at getting a bit of lift in the back of my MJ, and seeing as I'm a cheap bastard who needs new bushings in the rear, I was thinking of picking up a set of extended shackles and new bushings and killing two birds with one stone. I know a lot of guys on here recommend the Chevy drop shackles for a 2" lift, but after seeing them in person, they seemed a bit frail (being longer may make them bend easier, no?). What do you guys think of the diy4x shackles? They seem pretty tough, and come with greaseable bushings. Thanks in advance!
  17. On 33's, or 35's?
  18. Turns out mine is Olympic White. :D
  19. I have an Aussie in my ZJ. It's pretty transparent on the street, unless there's rain or snow, though, that might be also due to my unsiped KM2's.
  20. By the way, I found a page that shows paint "chips" for AMC Jeeps in 1987. :D paintref.com
  21. Where would one find said paint code?
  22. What gears are you planning on going with?
  23. Ah... Thanks! The reason I ask is because my MJ isn't a super bright white like most Jeeps I've seen. Maybe mine has yellowed a bit over time?
  24. Honestly, I see nothing but win in this thread! Then again, I like it when trucks are used as trucks. :)
  25. That sounds a LOT like my old Firebird's mechanical fan hitting/sfraping the shroud. I'd check that too.
