  1. Nice progress! Since the paint is a hammered finish, did it come out smooth, or textured?
  2. I never tried Boggers, but I did have TSL's for a while on a K5, and when properly warmed up (and at the proper air pressure) they were loud, but not THAT bad on the road. Maybe your Boggers had been sitting flat for a while before you got em? I know that the TSL's would be rough as hell if I didn't move the truck at least once a week. Once they warmes up, though, they were ok. Just ok. lol
  3. Weird. I ran my ZJ take offs on a budget boosted XJ for a while and they worked pretty well.
  4. A buddy of mine ripped his upper control arm mount off the rear of his ZJ on a long run. We unbolted it and turned back, then drove home. It held up to about 150 road miles and about 30 miles of trails. This is on a heavy, loaded V8 ZJ running on 33's. The only difference I see is that when you go over something, the axle will try to push towards the body. My bud's ZJ rear end was being pushed away from the body. Compression vs tension stress. If you have your heart set on this, I'd at least use WJ LCA's. At least they're boxed. :-/
  5. Then again, maybe it's the MJ that's different. I know that on a XJ the stock shocks off of a ZJ work very well with a budget boost.
  6. At a JY, you'll see them as blue shocks with bigger bodies.
  7. Sorry, I confused myself. Replace Overland with UpCountry and you get the idea
  8. Monroes are kind of wonky when it comes to the Overland ZJ's, or Chryco didn't see a need ti change shock length, but I do know that the Overland shocks were specific to that model. http://www.kevinsoffroad.com/techarticles/zj-upcoupgrade.html
  9. All 4WD ZJ shocks you're likely to get should allow you to run a 2" lift in the front. There were upgraded shocks that were a bit longer and heavier duty than most (off of the Overland equipped models) but those are kind of hard to get.
  10. Looks good! I'm very interested in seeing how much flex you get, as well as the durability you have when using 3 arms.
  11. I have and have autocrossed against them. Compared to a AW11 (or SW20) MR2, the Fiero is a straight line animal and a good cruiser, but it eats it when it comes to cornering and handling balance.
  12. Did you go for just a stocnrebuild, or did you do any hi-po mods (besides the headwork)?
  13. I really dig your truck! It's come a long, long way, man. Kudos on keeping the 2.5 alive! :)
  14. I don't think the 86 has a ballast resistor. My 87 didn't. I think it was a post 88 thing.
  15. Honestly, your stance looks good. If you play around with the air pressure, there's no reason you can't get a good wear pattern out of a 31 on 15x7"s. I thought you wanted them wider just so you could get that extra .25" of tire on the ground.
  16. The Fiero looked cool and actually sounded pretty nice i its later years, but it handled like crap compared to the MR2.My brother has an 85 4AGE powered MR2 that's an absolute BLAST to drive. Not big on power, but the handling is superb. If GM brought out the Fiero again and made it handle like the Yota, I'd buy one in a heartbeat!
  17. Me too. I only wish they were an inch wider. If you have a spare set, they CAN be widened for you. http://www.weldcraftwheels.com/index-1.html
  18. I'm with Hornbrod. Do a resto and enjoy it for what it is. If you want a 4x4 Jeep, there's literally MILLIONS of XJ's and ZJ's out there being sold cheap that one can beat on.
  19. I have an old style aussie in my ZJ and it works great. No undue wear on my tires at all. I can't really commemt on heavy muf and snow, but it does great in high speed desert situations and dune blasting.
  20. Sweet I run a short turn down just before the wheel well opening after a large welded turbo muffler. It directs the exhaust into that opening and cuts the resonance issue back a lot. I wanted an easy to build in the drive system because I built it in the driveway. Part of the reason I designed my system the way I did was also aimed at ease of use/maintenance. When the time comes to drop my tranny for a clutch swap, I just have to loosen 4 bolts and purchase 2 new exhaust seals and I'm good as new!
  21. I've never seen anyone running just one UCA on short arms. What's the purpose of this?
  22. I have 3" of lift. All I had to do was run the mounting bracket a little lower on the hose and they fit fine, plus, they leave me room to grow. You might have to mod the banjo bolt a bit, depending on your calipers. I had to grind the head on them just a bit.
  23. That looks SOOOOOOOOO CLEEEEEAAAANNNNN! Great work! What did you coat the underside with?
