  1. It's aluminum, tends to crack, corrodes when exposes to steel and water, and it's an oportunity to beef up my truck a little for not a large amount of cash.
  2. Hello all. I'm about to drop in power steering into my 87 SporTruck (2.5L) and have been looking at replacing the chintzy aluminum factory spacer with something more substantial. I've been eyeballing the C Rok unit. Any recommendations or suggestions? BTW, I'll be using a ZJ box and plan on installing a power steering cooler in line with the return hose.

  9. What do y'all mean by having the u joints in phase? I've never heard of that.
  10. I'm not well versed on the AW4, but I know that my 42RE will not pump fluid if the tranny is in park while idling. It will, however, pump fluid through the cooler lines when it's idling in neutral. Perhaps that's why you didn't get any fluid flowing when you pulled a line?
  11. Thanks for the info! I guess AMC skipped the knock sensor on the 2.5 thinking people wouldn't beat on them too much. Little did they know...
  12. Call me biased, but I think that it should stay with the w.5, albeit with the MPFI system. When I got mine, I thought zi was going to yank it the first week I had my truck, but I've really come to enjoy the smaller engine.

  15. Hello all. I know it's a long shot, but I'm hoping someone on here has a fuel sending unit that they're willing to sell. I'm specifically looking for a unit that will fit a 87 SWB MJ that is equipped with a 2.5L engine. Thanks in advance!
  16. I always tell people it's not for sale, they keep bugging me, I usually come back with a figure between 12-15 grand, depending on my mood. That usually irritates them enough so that they leave me alone. ☺

  19. Little touches like that is why I like to buy from Ballistic Fab. The only issue that I have with that designbis that it may trap mud and dirt inside the perch, accelerating corrosion. Proper finishing would take care of that, though. Besides, I live in the middle of the desert, so rust isn't a big concern of mine.
  20. If I'm not mistaken, all the 2.5 blocks and heads interchange. I'm not 100% on that, though. As far as TBI vs MPI, you'd have more power potential with the MPI engine, but comparing my brother's 2.5 XJ and my 2.5 MJ, I don't feel a big difference in power, and I usually get better mileage than he does on the highway.
