  1. Not sure I'd call this a score, but grabbed this recently, just because it's different.
  2. It's most likely factory. Here is a factory unit with the screw on lower portion. This is for a very early XJ with the 3 speed transmission. Are you sure which transmission you have? 3 speed or the 4 speed AW4? I have never seen a 4 speed AW4 shift bezel with the bolt on lower part, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. In any case, the one I showed from the 1996 would still work if you have the 4 speed trans.
  3. This one will fit all XJ and MJ to 1996. However, it would not be correct for pre-87 models with the 3 speed auto transmissions. Also, this one came from a 1996, and the font is different from the earlier ones. Compare it to yours and you will notice the difference. It will fit and work. How about $40 shipped?
  4. Recently got this one.
  5. I have new connectors, with or without terminals. I also have connectors with new terminals already crimped to 6" pigtails (12 gauge wire). If you are crimping the terminals yourself, I highly recommend using a professional level crimping tool, such as Delphi 08913440 or Tool Aid 18980.
  6. At the Indianapolis Pullapart on 8 Sept 2021.
  7. Maybe. I don't know exactly what those clips are made of, or if they are heat treated or whatever, but they don't bend much before they snap. Speaking of the factory clips.
  8. That looks like a suitable replacement, as long as it clamps to the mount tab good. That space on the mounting side looks suspect to me. Notice the factory one has no gap on the mounting side to provide a tight fit.
  9. Interesting. I've got several headlights, Princeton Tec, Petzl, Harbor Freight. These look interesting. Which model you thinking? I like the regular for replaceable AAA batteries, but like the higher light output and spotlight mode of the Sport. Not sure the higher light output, longer run time, and red mode makes the Pro worth the money for my use.
  10. The next step would be to drill a 1/4" hole in the mounting tab located on the back cab of the firewall. Then put the clip in place by inserting the larger tab in the hole first, pointing up, and then holding it flat against the surface, push up until it clicks into place. The clip is designed for the hood prop rod, which isn't quite as large in diameter as the jack handle. So it may be a tight fit. I tested the fit on the jack handle and it was tight but workable. I haven't gone the final step and done this mod, because I have the factory clip. But I would be interested to hear from anyone who tries it, to see how it worked out. A final thought, this isn't a permanent mod. If you find the factory clip, you could remove this one, and use it. It would cover the hole and no one would know it's there.
  11. The neat thing about this clip is it mounts in an approximately 1/4" diameter hole. Here is a pic of where it mounts in a 1993 XJ. And a pic of it mounted. To get it off, slip a thin flat blade screwdriver under it from the bottom (closed end), and then push it down. It will pop off.
  12. Since the proper clip is hard to find, my idea is to use a different clip that is much easier to find. I'm not sure exactly what year it started, perhaps as early as 1994, but late model XJs (and some TJs) use a metal clip to hold the hood prop rod in place. The clip replaces the plastic one found on our 86-92 MJs. It is part number 55075480.
  13. Here is a pic of the clip on my MJ. Yes, I painted it to blend in with the carpet.
  14. As most here may know, the factory jack handle is retained by the hold down bracket and thumbscrew on the driver side floor, and by a clip in the middle of the back wall of the cab. The factory jack instructions show the clip, which is part number 34202362. Also included is a close up of the clip. These clips are hard to find.
  15. I haven't revisited this thread in a long time. The CJ is still running great and has had a lot of mods, it's almost a constant thing. A shot of the current engine compartment. I recently made a lot of changes to my on board air system. Installed a smaller tank (4g to 2.5g), switched to a different pressure cutoff switch with a lower top end pressure, made a bracket for the air chuck that mounts to the pass seat base using the existing bolts. Plumbed in the air switch for the new air actuated front Ox locker, replacing the Detroit locker. Recently built what I call a "center rack" as it's not a traditional console. Pic shows just the front of the rack and various components and controls in the cab. And my new replacement Motobilt transmission hump cover plate. It was quite a project, had to bend it to shape, drill the mounting holes being very careful to line up with the existing holes, cut the transmission and transfer case shifter holes, then powder coat it. I'm a Trail Guide at the Arch Canyon Jeep Jamboree in Blanding, UT. If you are looking for an off road adventure with challenging obstacles, amazing views, and interesting history, it's worth checking out. Went to the Silver Valley Jeep Jamboree in Mullan, ID back in July.
  16. If it were me, I would get the front put together, then assemble the rear with the spring perches just held in place by the u-bolts. Finalize any ride height mods, like the shackles. Then, finally adjust the pinion angle and tack weld the perches in place. Then disassemble and do final welding.
  17. Example of the 2.5L remote P/S reservoir
  18. Yep, we talked about it a little here:
  19. I missed this update to the post- that turned out great! I can appreciate the effort it takes to mask all that off.
  20. @fiatslug87 thanks for finding the double post. This post didn't have the "1" at the beginning of the VIN in the title which is why it didn't show up in my search. I edited the VIN to show the "1", and deleted the new post since it didn't add any new info.
  21. What is the difference? Is it AMC/Jeep/Renault and Jeep/Eagle? *Eagle is referring to 1JTMW64P7HT051725
  22. I don't think I did, but I only grab dash bezels if they are 99% mint- no cracks, no drilled holes, no cutouts, etc. If it was, I would have grabbed it. I will say that the things I look for to grab has changed dramatically even the last few years- it's all getting harder to find.
  23. No idea on quality, but- https://www.rockauto.com/RSS/vehiclefeeds.php?carcode=1181720&m=wc&l=en&html=true EDIT- description says right, photo looks like a driver side to me
  24. I recall this being discussed in the past. I bought some replacements off Rockauto several years ago. Fit was bad. Gaps left between the liner and fender flares. I think I remember Don saying he had ordered replacements from Rockauto and had good luck with them. I still have a pair of the ones that didn't fit well. Bought two pair, put one set on my XJ. Keep on a lookout for late model (94ish-96) originals like Pete said. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/jeep,1994,cherokee,4.0l+l6,1180213,body+&+lamp+assembly Look for "inner fender"
  25. OK, this is my best guess at the VIN. I didn't realize until I downloaded the pics that the sunburst had partially blocked the VIN. I don't have good notes on this one, I believe this was in a yard in Toledo in the summer of 2015.
