  1. Looks like they are going to use a 4.2L 4bbl carb intake and run a FAST EFI setup on it. I Definitely want to see what results they get with the parts they are using.
  2. Kickinmule said it best. What I usually do with basket case builds where a lot of work needs done is write out a list of everything wrong, and then prioritize that list based on safety, logical order, and realistic financial ability. I follow that order exactly. Make it run and make it safe to drive. Then start tackeling the bigger stuff as your money allows. Having a plan of attack to follow makes a big difference in getting a project done.
  3. Given as Edelbrock is usually a big sponsor of shows like this and they just recently came out with their new aluminum head, I will give you a good solid guess.
  4. If you aren't looking for factory fresh at this point, one of the great things about white paint is that you can more easily get away with a gloss white spray paint to cover/conceal damage. It won't entirely pass under close scrutiny, but it's better than surface rust and exposed primer.
  5. one color? Ah well, I shall still call it skittles lol
  6. He stated he lives in the Virgin Islands. I think that qualifies as an island in the middle of the ocean lol Err, I think you missed Jim's tongue-in-cheek bon mot entirely mate Dry humor and tounge in cheek doesn't always translate well across forums. I am also a very literal person so I probably did miss it.
  7. I love the making a good out of many bads. With so many colors though, I almost want to forevermore call this truck Skittles. I'm loving all the work though. Can't wait to see it finished.
  8. The way I see it, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. If you have a swap in mind then I would research everything you need to do and buy for it, gather all your parts, and wait for something to give or plan on a time after you have all the parts and research done. If you want to do a stroker, build one up on the side so you can drive and enjoy what you have now.
  9. Wow, that radiator is...rough. Defintiely a fairly solid truck from what it looks like. The doors look to be the worst on the body. Looking forward to your progress.
  10. The TPS could definitely be a culprit. Stalling like this is also a sign of a bad O2 sensor as well. Sounds like a little investigation is in order.
  11. As somebody running with no carpet and a set of rubber floor mats, I would highly recommend some sort of thermal and sound insulation if you plan to daily drive it. My truck stays pretty warm thanks to the heat that comes through the transmission tunnel.
  12. Well, in basic hard parts, Compressor, drier, evaporator, condensor, high and low pressure lines. May or may not need the HVAC box from an AC equipped MJ/XJ, some wiring, etc. Honestly, it would probably be easier to find a complete system at the JY and grab the parts. There may be someone here with more experience in doing said conversion.
  13. That actually shouldn't be too difficult to get all the parts needed for an AC setup. When you get there, just remember me when you want to say goodbye to the delete pulley
  14. For non metric ton leaf springs - Hell Creek for lift leaves. General if you want more OE ride height - unless Hell Creek offers standard height leaf springs and just doesn't list them?
  15. That is a nice truck. Is it sad that the part I am interested in most on this truck is that AC Delete pulley? lol
  16. Just so it's known, the 1993 ZJ had the External slave setup. I know first hand as the bellhousing and transfer case I used for my swap came from a 1993 ZJ. I used a renix flywheel and clutch assembly and a pilot bushing to fit the Renix crank and AX-15 snout.
  17. He stated he lives in the Virgin Islands. I think that qualifies as an island in the middle of the ocean lol
  18. I have stock replacement standard Leaf springs from General Springs. Top one on this link http://www.generalspringkc.com/Leaf_Springs_Jeep_Comanche_s/1954.htm It will sit high at first, but once they settle they are close to factory height, just a little taller it seems. They ride fantastic.
  19. FWIW, I have Upcountry springs and coil spacers on the front of mine. I am using KYB Gas-A-just with BPE's. I have no ride complaints, and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg to do. Truck rides great from my perspective, and I daily drive it.
  20. Good stuff! I saw that you had the same issue I did with the 2 piece pilot bearing coming out. I managed to get mine with a slide hammer puller, but it was a long and frustrating experience. Soon you will be driving again, and you can spend the first couple hundred miles sweating about if you did it right. After that, and the clutch is broke in, you can enjoy your hard work lol.
  21. Pilot bearing is in the crank. It's a 2 piece unit that will be in there good. I used a puller that I got from Harbor Freight and a bit of penetrating fluid. It took me over 30 minutes, one blood blister, and two very numb from impact hands before the inner part of that 2 piece pilot bearing came out....(it's not supposed to lol). I used a larger puller end and got the outer to come out though. Now the grease and bolt is one of a few methods for hydraulic removal and can be very effective. Another famous one is wet toilet paper lol.
  22. Back yard engineering at its finest!
  23. Bookmarked! To the OP, I found this picture for ya that gives the best picture of the linkage. Yours would more or less look exactly like this from the factory. Hit up the pick a part near you and raid an XJ with the same trans and transfer case assembly as yours and you should be fine.
  24. I will have to look into that. We don't have a lot of salt on the roads or snow here, maybe once every three years, so rust isn't a huge issue for cars here. However I may just throw some spray paint on it, to at least give it another layer of protection. Can I see more of your Isuzu? i never heard of one of those, and wow they look good. I used to have a Probe and it kind of reminds of that body style of a car. lol, probe is a new one, but I guess 80's and 90's fastbacks do look a lot alike. Most people say it looks a bit like a DMC-12, and it should because they were sister design cars from ITALDesign. As far as mine goes.... It's in many many pieces undergoing a resto-mod import style. I'd list the parts, but lets just say I've spent quite a bit of money so far lol. A taste of that - Custom Ron Davis radiator, 7670 EFR Turbo, Custom JE Pistons, Custom Pauter Rods, Lots of AN Fittings, Full Megasquirt 3 with MS3X card, SPAX adjustable shocks from the UK, and on and on and on... Currently swapping a Dana 44 in the rear and getting the C5/C4 corvette brakes setup. More or less how it's sitting. Some shiny bits. Yes, I am building the intake and turbo manifolds (Hence the flange bolted to the head).
