  1. T case isn't ever the issue in swap its the aw4! Now saying that the obd2 aw4 can be used just more work and little more know how.
  2. Don't think I've ever seen it, but anything is possible with AMC!
  3. http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1053970 Read this obd2 will require a little work
  4. [emoji115] Try this
  5. Must be pretty cold where u at? You got the rite idea just keep working it
  6. which is why I see people over look the injectors more then anything else I think... Your 703's are 16.75lbs@43.5psi which is 14.1bs@31psi and 15.9lbs@39psi which I think is too low but that really depends on your truck and other mods to your truck... In my experience the OE injectors are undersized from the factory to run lean which adds more power and better fuel economy but the adverse effect is the manifolds crack due to the lean conditions and you can verify this yourself if need be... running a little rich is safer for the engine but will cost you a little more in fuel... In no way am I doubting you Jeepman just interested in his findings. My truck is stock besides k&n cai and injectors and of course exhaust. The 703's run great they added throttle response and seem to pur a little better at idle, but if there is a better option I'm all for it.[emoji106]
  7. I would also like to know how it is running! The only time I've heard of people using bigger injectors and higher pressure is for modified engines. My buddy is running your same injectors and regulator on a poormans stroker. I personally can't imagine it running better with a stock engine ,but heck what do I know learn something on here just about everyday! Just FYI my upgraded injectors with stock regulator Bosch 0280155703 good luck!
  8. I think you need to move this to tech instead of posting on Hornbrods write up.The number you need and what I used is Bosch 0280155703 with stock regulator runs great
  9. Cherokee ==> floor shift. I can't think of any way changing the steering column on an XJ could possibly affect the transmission shifting. AI didn't read good enough either so gotta be just a coincidence
  10. Hornbrod or someone can chime in to back this up, but that should be the only possible problem relating to column that could cause a shifting problem. Other than just a coincident.
  11. Also having a cad axle in a 92 tells me it is not stock so it may not be a bad idea to check for other things swapped by PO.
  12. I think we got off subject for OP, guys the only thing he replaced was steering column no trans or tcm.I would check your shifting cable that runs from firewall from column to transmission if he reinstalled incorrectly could gave some slack?
  13. As stated you only get a higher pressure regulator of you have a stroker. With a stock engine you stay stock the point of the upgraded injectors is for the 4 hole spray pattern vs single.
  14. Exactly what Hornbrod said go back stock, when I put my new injectors it also run like crap till computer learned new setup. Good luck
  15. It almost looks like the old diaper bags decomposed with rust dunno?
  16. I well then your light would be working from a vacuum system
  17. This is a 97+ 231 but you can see connections
  18. My aw4/231 came from late 95 the light is controlled u switch on TC the only other connection is the vss
  19. +1 This could get very cool!
  20. There are dimples in your 2wd where to drill but like I said get the boostwerks you won't regret it!
  21. Just to update no disconnect ended in 91 for XJ and 92 for MJ
  22. Thanks Absolutely, even better you don't have to source all the oem linkage parts. Everyone is correct, but because you asked the simplest route 91-95 would be it. As far as the vac disconnect goes it is a non issue they stopped this in 92 i Believe also some 96 are obd1 but beware it is a bastard year to obd2. Now saying all that obd2 trans can be made to work with obd1 with simple wiring changes as you can see there are several route all of which can be made to work fairly easy good luck[emoji106]
  23. As commando stated there are several combinations, but if you guys are looking to buy a complete donor and have everything there 91-95. (minus rear driveshaft) There are several write ups around web and on C.C. It is a very simple swap [emoji106] Would also like to add to use the boostwerks shift linkage I believe commando is who first turned me on to it, WORTH EVERY PENNY! BTW commando great find I was about to pull my hair out with that stock linkage!
