  1. I like mine; Line-x spray in. It's tough and looks so sweet every truck bed should come off the line with one. It's kind of pricey for our trucks depending on overall value, but in my case it was the only choice. I saw how Rino-Liner looked and I hated it, all globby and rubbery.
  2. I agree. I purchased cryo-stop rotors for my '01 XJ and loved them too. I would recommend HAWK performance pads with the frozen rotors. My friend with a BMW had HAWK HPS pads on his car and from 140mph he said "Want to see how it stopps now?" I was horrified because jamming hard on the brakes at that speed is a good way to get killed. To my suprise the rear end got loose for a split second and then I was faithful in my seat belt from there. With that combination you should be great. Hawk HPS pads are no more expensive than any other nice pads like Bendix or Rayworst's.
  3. It looks like the decal package was made to make the Jeep appear fast. Is this the 2.5L? If it is that would be so ironic. Nice free Jeep they don't come by that often in that good of shape.
  4. I tried WJ lower control arms and after grinding for a while I decided it wasn't going to work for me. My control arms are stock from a '93 XJ so I am looking to upgrade them and it would be easier to buy adjustable ones than to shim the old ones. I know there isn't much shimming to do, but I don't think anyone aftermarket sells any good non-adjustable ones. Plus if I decide to raise it higher in the future I can with the adjustable ones. I have a very minor rubbing now with the old LCA's. Thanks for the replies, keep 'em coming.
  5. I am looking into buying new adjustable lower control arms. I have 3" lift coils and New OEM upper control arms. I am running 245/70/16 tires and do not plan on wheeling it. It will be mostly on road comfort so what do you recommend for this? I am leaning toward JKS arms because of their rubber bushings. Thanks in advance!
  6. The Dealer doesn't have any more in stock, I called and they checked the entire country's stock. If I could get a OEM one I would they will be way better than any aftermarket. So if anyone runs across these please shoot me a heads up too!
  7. I'd go with the Toyota Tundra that you mentioned. It seems you don't need a true full size pickup and this truck rides and drives like a car. It's a great truck to buy because of it's size, but I think you can get a similar priced Chevy or Ford also. Toyota holds it's value. Why don't you test drive all four, that's the only way to really know what one to buy.
  8. The direct replacement antenna would be this Metra 44-CR72. You can buy this any most parts stores. Just a heads up though, it's from China and very cheaply made. I put one on my Comanche and I am still on the look out for a better made product. Metra used to make awesome products and I am dissapointed with this one, but it's the only option new. http://www.google.com/products?q=metra+ ... hl=en&aq=f
  9. Nice truck, it's nice to see another black Comanche out there!
  10. I think that Ford saw the writing on the wall years ago. They have been downsizing slowly selling off all the niche brands. Aston Martin, Land Rover and Volvo were all sold off. Now Mercury dropping nearly 80% of it's sales has gone. I think it's great because that will set Lincoln apart from it's Ford owner. Maybe they will make a REAL Lincoln Blackwood now!!!!!!
  11. Ouch! Don't be cruel, everyone is subject to their own opinion and taste.
  12. It is much better looking in the real picture. It looks like a nice truck and the Dakota is kind of in a class of it's own based on size. That said the price is probably about even with a full size so the mid size would be out for me. Nice truck though!
  13. That's exactly what i'm talking about. 2 doors are awesome, the only wagon I am remotely interested is an Audi RS-4 or 6 Avant wagon. Only because they have 580hp. I would pull the engine out of the wagon and put in a 2 door sports car.
  14. I have had post cards sent for the recalls for about 2 years, I only drive it about 1500 miles a year but I will make a visit to the dealer before something like this happens. Thanks for the heads up. :wavey:
  15. I know i'm not getting any younger, but... I was just working on my '00 2 door Grand Prix GTP yesterday and I have forgotten how sexy a 2 door is. I haven't driven it for about 8 months so I was excited to get it back on the road. I am working on the stereo and pulled the carpet to shampoo it. Anyway back on topic; there are very few cars and/or Jeeps that are 2 doors anymore. They killed the Grand Prix in 2002. They killed the Cherokee 2 door, and I think the Explorer 2 door is gone, not that I really missed that one much. The GTO or Australian cavalier is gone as is the Lumina and Monte or how about the Blazer. I have many more to add to this list but you know most of them. I know they aren't as practical, but there isn't one car that is better as a four door than a 2 door.(Looks) Remember the old Imprezza 2 door WRX? That was sweet, now we have to settle for a crappy looking 4 door sedan to impress the crowd, unless of course you choose the stupid looking hatch. So what is the big problem producing 2 door cars or trucks in lower numbers? If they wouldn't try to make 10 new cars and trucks in 12 months maybe this could be more proffitable. Plus try keeping the same car platform more then 3 years, maybe the parts would be cheaper to buy used or aftermarket. Of the cars mentioned on the list, no one is an expensive car so car makers would rather make more expensive 4 door cars with more profit at the expense of the customer, YOU! Imagine this: The 2 door Jeep Wrangler discontinued because lack luster sales. Soon we all will be driving classic cars.
  16. Great advice, I am thinking about doing the same thing, I will watch out for this part.
  17. I am not a fan of the Liberty only because of poor crash tests although it is a nice looking Jeep. For me when the New Commander was pictured I thought it would be a replacement of the Cherokee until I saw it's size, then I saw the price. There goes that! To me a Wrangler is not practical for a daily driver in Michigan. They are the ultimate Jeep though with great break over angles. My girlfriend and I own a '06 Grand Cherokee and we love them. It's still a Jeep and it rides and has the amenities of a Cadillac. If I wanted to go extreme off roading I wouldn't take it. Everyone needs a car to suit their needs and one isn't going to do all. When chrysler made the Grand and every Jeep they had a target audience in mind. The target audience has changed and their sales reflect that. I don't agree with the changes but you still have to make a buck and that's the bottom line. If you still want a new Jeep like the old one, build one! It just takes money and time. I love my 2 door '00 Grand Prix GTP and although it sucks they don't make it anymore that's the way the cookie crumbles.
  18. Well I got something new for the Jeep, I needed a ax-15 4wd trans and I found one. I got a great price on it so I just went ahead and picked it up. I have a few questions though. 1. I need a new hard line to the master cylinder, can I re-use the ms I have from my ba-10/5? 2. Should I look around for a external slave bell housing or is the one here fine? 3. The CPS on the new ax-15 is broken, can I use the one from my ba-10/5? 4. What should I replace before installing? Example seals etc.
  19. I thought I'd bring this thread back. I made a trip to the junk yard with all my left over Jeep parts and a few brake jobs here and there. I suppose I had around 700 pounds of scrap steel along with the other trash I wanted to get rid of. Most of the steel is burried such as leaf springs, rear bumper, mounts, 6 sets of rotors etc. The back end didn't sag a bit and it rode like a dream after loaded. And last week I got my replacement ax-15 combo.
  20. My girlfriend and I went to see Richy Nix in concert in Bay City, they were ok.
  21. I ordered this: It shipped out today so next week I will take pictures of how much room you have. It is much less deep than any other box because of the sub that is only 2" deep. The sub is a 13" driver with a 200w power rating and to be used in sealed boxes only. I will put 150 watts of pure Zapco power to it.

  23. What is "taxable value"? Are you refering to the licence plate renewal fee?
  24. the classic wheels should fit. I had '98 classic wheels I put on my 2wd before I switched it over to 4wd. The pic of my avatar is with the classic wheels. The center caps come out of the wheels and I decided to paint the hub center caps gray to match.
