  1. It sounds like it could be a lifter because it doesn't exactly follow rpms. You may have a collapsed one. How long did the motor sit? If it sat for a long time the oil might have run out of the lifter and it may take some time to get the oil back in it compared to removing them and letting them sit in a jar of oil and depressing them from time to time to get the air out. I don't know what seafoam is but I would drain the oil and put some cheap oil in it along with a bottle of Lucus Oil Stabilizer run it for a while until the noise suppresses and then change the oil with fresh good oil. It sounds like you have good oil pressure because it's only one lifter making noise. The only other scenario it could be is if a rocker arm was loose under the valve cover. This could be making noise against the pushrod or the valve tip. It wouldn't be a bad idea to pull the cover and see if they are all tight. You could also have a sticky valve but this would cause the engine to have a miss most likely and this does not sound like a miss to me. It's too loud to be a spark related issue also. I hope this helps and thank you for the video it's much more easy to diagnose these kind of problems. Good Luck!!
  2. ^I like the front bumper, nice job.

  5. :agree: Except I wish the leads were detachable.
  6. Put insurance back on it to take a ride to the dump with the fiance. I am renovating a bathroom and bedroom so it's the work truck for now.
  7. My fiance is up to it again, she can always make me blush. This time around she bought me this. She said it's for both of us since she changes her own oil now. I'll buy that!!
  8. Still in my eyes nothing will touch a Hummer H1 Alpha. Can you imagine the possiblities of tuning that?!! How about 500hp and 900+ft/lbs of torque and that kind of off road capability. I would love to get my hands on one screw the gas mileage. The other Hummers don't hold a candle to the H1, they are just marketing at it's best. I love that 2 door H1 on Gone in 60 Seconds. But my choice would be the Huge one with the full top if they made it in the H1 Alpha.
  9. Well my fiance is at it again. Since we are getting married in September she thought it would be fitting to add to the picture. She spent a lot of time drawing this trailer for the Comanche. We are still working on the t-shirts. We have been busy and the whole Jeep trademark is a pita! I think if someone spends this much time on something they should allow use of the logo if the "R" trademark is added to give credit. I tried calling Chrysler and the person never called me back. Nice customer service indeed. So here goes, her latest project.
  10. Ok I am really crazy mad. :fs1: I am working and cannot get the game online in either video or audio online. What's the deal? No radio broadcast across the country? :hmm:
  11. It's probably about 1/8" thick over the rails. I don't know about the bad but I figure it's about even. It's difficult to spend that much on a truck liner for our old trucks but it's worth it for sure. I wouldn't want any other kind because I know the results and the life is guaranteed. If I would try to save money and do it myself I would buy the Raptor U-pol stuff. Prep is key to any kind expecially the diy stuff since it doesn't dry as fast. Linex will dry hard enough to walk on in less than a half hour.
  12. LineX period.
  13. I like the detail, inspiration and it's nice to see someone who's crazy enough to go the extra mile to make it look nice.
  14. That would make for one huge cake, hopefully there is something more out there. I'll keep looking...
  15. My fiance and I are looking for a Comanche cake topper scale model. I know it sounds strange but we want to design a cake for it. She wants to use this with it. If we can locate a Jeep Comanche model we can do something fun with it.
  16. Ok, I must clear the air a bit, I didn't say I don't use jack stands. I do ALWAYS except when I go to remove them the car has settled down onto the jack stands so I must jack the car up to remove them. I have four 12 ton jack stands that I use all the time, thanks for your concern though. This is what I have, except I have two more 12 ton stands not seen.
  17. I'm not sure, if it's what I want I will spend what it's worth. I have two "must have" uses: #1. Must be low profile enough to get under my Grand Prix. #2. It must have a speedy lift lever or action. I really am tired (literally) wasting my effort pumping it 15 times before it even hits the body to lift it. I am also considering one with a replaceable pad to lift higher. I've seen ones with a round pipe with a pad ontop, kind of an extra lift jack. But this must be removable to replace said pad to lift my car. I don't even know if they make such a thing. :hmm:
  18. I am in the market for a new floor jack, I currently have a inexpensive one and it has a hair trigger to let the truck down. It also looses pressure and falls ever so slowly. So which one/brand would you choose?

  20. Test the power to the fuse box. If there is no accesory power on the hot side of the fuse you most likely fired a "fuseable link" under the hood. These are two places, one is at the relay center just aft of the battery the other is off the starter which are normally only for constant power.
  21. If the reciever hitch pin is located on the underside of the hitch the tow chain hooks may also be there. I bought a JCR rear bumper and their hitch was not tow rated due to the expense of qualifing these hitches to be tow rated. I'm sure you could tow with it but as with most products that aren't intended for such use it will be use at your own risk. With the hitch pin and the tow chains located at the rear of the bumper you have to have extra long chains to go to these locations. I guess that's why it is a custom rear bumper in the first place.
  22. I am in the same boat, I have vinyl door panels and would like a tasteful grill but want to stay with the manual windows because I don't want to fill the hole left by the window crank. All the speaker grills face down to prevent dust or water from getting in the speaker but this severely limits the speakers wavelength or path to the listener. I want to put them upside down but the jury's still out on that one.
  23. I guess it's to late to chime in that I upgraded my carpet to the mass backing type. I wanted to get the most sound deadning I could get since carpet always has that insulation and waxy coating on it. Mine fit very well and the price was worth it to me, since I had new floorpans installed I wanted to make it quiet because I would hope water wouldn't make it in again. Here are some pics, I don't have very good ones but when I remove the interior again to dynamat everything I will take better ones.
  24. I have always been amused by these smileys. There are some real funny ones out there on other forums too.
  25. That would be nice. So what's different about the linkage? Is it a different size? I don't see what could be sloppy but the bushings you mention so they aren't bent. I won't be messing with it in the truck but I just wanted to test the truck's transfer case for all gears and doing it manually from underneath is a real pita!! It rarely goes into gear without the linkage holding it into place. On another note someone has already been into the transfer case at least once since the screwdriver slot is marred. There is also a blue painted bolt and rtv on the machined surfaces. I will still pull it apart to check the condition of it. What should I look for?
