  1. I was just asking because if you had a problem with something received, how the heck is the person you bought it from supposed to know if you just "bit your lip"? Give them a chance to correct the situation. I'm sorry man, but, I wholeheartedly stand by Correy's response. Couldn't have said it better myself. Rob
  2. Stinger, what parts were you sent that didn't work? Rob
  3. If it was a '93-'98 Grand, I know the lift on the front will work for you... I think the later years will also, but those I am not sure about. Rob
  4. Historically, whenever I pulled my shafts, the seal at the carrier ALWAYS leaks... just giving you a heads up. Keep an eye on the fluid for awhile if you didn't replace the seals. Rob

Yeah, but whom would it go to? Someone who would greatly appreciate the gift? Or someone who never had a car to begin with and is only using the tragedy to mooch free stuff? If it were me, and I wanted to give that bad, I would drive there, find a family that was hard up, and tell them you have me and my truck for a week. I will help in anyway I can. Rob
  6. You starting a project thread? Rob :dunno:
  7. IIRC, the ballast resistor only comes into play in RUN. IN start, it is bypassed. So if the ballast resistor was bad, the problem would be opposite, no? Rob
  8. Depending on price,i might be interested in the suspension you guys put under it when it comes time for my truck. That is, if you decide you want to duplicate the setup for production. Rob :wrench:
  9. SRT Grand Cherokee.... Rob
  10. What he said, with the exception of the Chief package. They were only an option with those too. Rob
  11. Welcome to the group. I was actually going to send you guys a message to check to see if you knew out our little part of the world. Now I don't have to. :D I'm glad to see more companies thinking about the MJ. I've noticed that we are during a bit more exposure here and there... On another note, what us the vin on that '92 you guys have? We've been looking for the last one built, and that would let me see where yours falls. Now we just need to get you guys some Comanche club schwag before you run it! Rob
  12. It's a joke young buck. Re-read it. I think you need to re-read the thread ol' wise one... I think the :dunno: was in reference to the the reference that Mr. OShel made stating that this joke sounded familiar. Rob :dunno: :D
  13. I used to work for Ford, and they aren't that hard. Ford recommends a fuel filter every 12-15K IIRC, so the fleet maintenance company isn't even close to the recommended interval. The "true" Ford 30K service when I worked there (2004-6) was: Oil Change (5K) Air filter (15K) Fuel Filter (15K) Transmission Flush/filter (30K) Tire Rotation (10K) I think I'm forgetting something too. () Denotes the interval. Anywho... Back to the fuel filter. Super simple. If the Rangers are anything like our 2010 P-71's, which I am sure they are, its a spring clamp on one side, and a push/snap fitting on the other... The spring clamp is the side you need the tool on. That process is shown here: http://www.fordf150.net/howto/fuelfilter.php As for the other side, it just has a plastic clip that sort of forks through the line... When pressed in, the forks stretch out, letting the shoulder of the fuel filter pass through... Dirt simple. Rob :dunno:
  14. Pete, you have any local roach motels nearby? Just trying to plan ahead to see what prices are... Rob

I would say $400ish tops, but it all depends on how clean and how bad you want it. Also how dressed it is... Tailgate, tails, flares, wiring.... Etc. Rob

Best MJ story: In 2008 when I was forced to install any fuel sender assembly I could get my hands on quick, I accepted at face value that I was purchasing an HO sending unit. Dropped the tank, installed it and my tank was half full. Drove it around for a week and didn’t notice that the fuel guage was moving towards full. One Saturday morning my wife and I had an important event we had to attend at the San Francisco Cow Palace. Stupid me, fires up the MJ looks at the fuel gauge needle at the “full” location and took off for our 30 mile trip. About half way there the MJ sputtered and just quit, unable to turn it over with the fuel needle on full we called a tow truck to tow us home. We were lucky enough to get a tow truck driver that loved MJ’s and asked me to fire it up, he told us your truck sounds like it is starving for fuel, he had a can of gas put in a few gallons and after 5 minutes of cranking she fired up. He concluded the fuel tank was empty! I researched the symptoms on CC and found that the non-HO sender units had reverse polarity to HO units and recorded fuel levels backwards. What owner loves best about CC: I love the fact that most of us are just here to share our love for this incredible truck! No judgments, no personal attacks just a lot of great information about MJ’s. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Joe, let me be the first to congratulate you on the MJOTM pick. Its never easy to pick the winners when we have so many members with outstanding rigs. You keep that thing looking so good, you make the moderators jobs a lot easier. All the small touches that only an MJ'er would notice. The white face gauges, the amber turns, the secure center console... I recently picked up the woodgrain bezel on a whim, but you have shown that with the right color combo, it looks sharp. Always willing to toss in some advice, or help for other members, a well deserved nod. I hope that this makes your vacation that much sweeter. Congrats again Joe! Rob
  20. YEP! Do I spy a blue astroturf over head console? Rob
  21. That MJ looks like a members truck... Can't put a finger on the name. As for the rust free... Bite your tongue sir. Have you pulled up the carpet yet? Welcome to the club. That is a very nice collection of Jeeps. How do you like the Commander? I have a soft spot for them. Rob
  22. I usually shave once it becomes too itchy, and turns into a light beard. Ends up being about 3-4 days. Since I work for the local Fire department, we have to keep a clean face below the lip because of the masks. Its kinda held me back from letting my full on beard come out, but I think I'd be pretty decent. I just use a disposable wally world brand knockoff 3 blader. I've always wanted to try an electric job, but I just can't get over the price of a decent one. Is it really worth it? Rob
  23. Yep, I was thinking more this route. I had a Cherokee that the headlight switch went bad on. The switch has an internal breaker, and in my case, the headlights would cycle on and off as the breaker would cool and cycle. The only way I could keep the headlights on, was to keep the stalk back while I was driving. Eventually, I blew a headlight, and didn't have to worry about it as the one headlight was no longer enough to overheat the breaker. Anyway, I digress. Check the headlight switch. Rob
