I have a couch made out of the back of an MJ, a fridge with an MJ handle and badge magnets, a desk made out of the back of an MJ, a bulletin/diagram board in garage made out of an MJ hood and magnets, MJ bucket seat chairs, and oh so much more to come. Rob :D

I've brought in a small generator and a grinder... 'Tis how I got my couch: Step one, find donor: You can see the frame of the generator in the back of the truck: Take the bench out of the cab. BAM! Instant garage couch: Honestly, I would just go and try to get it. Bring breaker bars, hammers... Worst case scenario, hammer a socket on the u-bolt bolt, and snap the sucker off. You're not going to re-use the u-bolts anyway. Or bring a sharp chisel and just chink through the u-bolt. Rob

Specifics on XJ Tails
Automan2164 replied to Zenobian_84's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The exact reason don't fit because they are made for a completely different vehicle. Plain and simple. You've hear it a thousand times because it is true. Anyway you want to make XJ tails fit is up to you. Rob -
Be happy to sell you mine! viewtopic.php?f=24&t=31755 Rob :D

89 XJ Limited, 2dr. leather power seats
Automan2164 replied to airspeed's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Let me also add, that 4 door seats in an MJ sucks. Sucks hardcore. I told myself that I didn't need to have the fold forward latch, then I put them in, and was cursing myself whenever I needed to pull something out of the back of the cab. Rob -
89 XJ Limited, 2dr. leather power seats
Automan2164 replied to airspeed's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have personally seen a 2 dr limited XJ. Wish I would have bought it. Rob :fs1: -
I would find the owner of that building and ask about the signs. Rob

Me too... I think the official name is "Spinnaker Blue" IIRC. Rob

The compact truck market fell with the struggle to have the "Biggest" Biggest towing capacity, engine, interior, payload capacity, bed room... Once you got to where we are now, the biggest draw of the compact truck was no more. Sensible truck, with good fuel mileage. We americanized the crap out of the market. V8 in a small truck? Why? Rob

That's for OBDI only. Not often I get to prove the man wrong, but... http://www.wjjeeps.com/faultcodes.htm I thought it had the capability, and turns out I was right. Put that in your HL and smoke it. :D Rob

Has he tried cycling the key on-off 3 times? I am not sure if it will show the codes on his, but it might. I don't know if they did that in 2001. That scanner at the auto parts store sounds shifty. Rob
-
What is he using to pull the codes? Might be manufacturer specific, and not released to the generics. As far as hydraulic pumps go... The trans has a pretty expensive one that would have a pressure monitor on it. Rob
-
9 what? Engine codes should start with a P for powertrain, followed by 4 numbers. Rob
-
how does it sound? Deep like a v8 and not loud, or deep and loud, or loud. I am looking for something that will give my Comanche a Deeper sound but not make it too loud, sorta like the v8 in my WK or our Dodge Dakota v8 we had. I love the ripoff Flowmaster 40 on my ZJ... Here's a vid I made awhile back. The best part of the muffler is the deep idle, which you can hear right toward the end. Almost sounds muscle car-esq. USDS_gc_Ues Rob

Wanted to add that my mom CANNOT drive auto. She is a native of Germany, and has not owned an automatic car. Ever. Once she had to take her Cavalier into the dealer to get it serviced, so they gave her the keys to an auto loaner. She was in tears in the parking lot because she couldn't even figure out how to get it out of park. It took a salesman to come out and show her that you had to depress the brake to move the shifter. Just this summer she was car shopping, and she wanted to take a Honda Fit for a test drive. Surprisingly, out of a fleet of 50 some cars, they had not one manual transmission. He asked if she wanted to take out an auto, and although she advised him no, did anyway. he said that out of the 7 or so years he had been selling cars, it was the only time he was legitimately scared on a test drive. She kept hitting the brake, jerking the wheel, and shifting the car out of drive. Thank god her senses came to her, and she's now representing the Motherland. VeeDub for life. TDI, 6 speed, and every option except leather. Sweet car. Rob

Well, the GF just got out of the shower, and told me that there was a bug in the shower. Had to get up to do my killing duties. I was greeted by this little bug that looked like a tick, and was the size of one, but had these little scorpion pincers. First thing that came to mind was bed bugs, we've been traveling a lot lately, and hotels had been a mainstay. Quick google search told me I had nothing to worry about, and I learned of a new bug I had never encountered. The Pseudoscorpion. Youtube turned up a video of one that looked like ours: 2S3ATMgy270 Neat. Rob

How old were you when you got your first cell phone/pager?
Automan2164 replied to knever3's topic in The Pub
I picked up my first cell phone when I was 17. It wasn't until I turned 24 that I finally got one that does data, like pictures, internet, and such. Now it's game on. I use it to Comanche Club, take and upload pictures, GPS, entertainment, learn, and one of the best features is the OBDII bluetooth scanner I have for it. $15, and I can read/clear codes, plot voltage signals, monitor PID's, and run diagnostics all from my phone. Awesome. Rob -

1992 Jeep Comanche
Automan2164 replied to Jeepcomanche87's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
I think Dons were a dealer installed stripe. The factory ones I think you have in mind are two colors, usually red and grey, and almost look like a dry brush stroke with fade and irregularity. Rob -
Totally agree. I hate when people start yakking. If I have to make, or receive a phone call, I excuse myself outside, or to a quiet part of the room away from anyone else. Rob
