  1. No laptop with Wifi? You could be the cool guy in class  He was doing that with me the other day, I just think he was referring to not being able to be on it in class. Rob
  2. I just noticed one of the cover highlights is when we were playing the, "Crap, I'm in the shot..." Game. Thanks. Rob
  3. Another impromptu rundown, helping TylerJY find the line up the rocks: Rob
  4. I am still playing around with it. Same place as before... Official server 1, Wild West terrain. Rob
  5. And Wade had to remind me, so I could remind Brett. Rob
  6. It really is a good time once you get the hang of it. We raced to the top of a mountain, I shot to the top, got 3/4's of the way up, and proceeded to fall all the way down while Brett just watched me tumble past in a barrel roll. After we got done messing around, we hit some trails and the RTI ramps: Going to have to set up a bigger run. Too much fun. Rob
  7. Official server 1, Wild West terrain. I use alt+tab to minimize ror without exiting. I'll be in the Cherokee. With the Comancheclub.com license plate. Rob 8)
  8. Ok. Let me wrap some things up here, and I'll let you know where I am at. Rob
  9. You have to walk into the office and up to the computer. Rob
  10. Working on the rest, I might just start from scratch rather than stretch a pic... This is looking weird. Rob
  11. This is dangerous... I am trying to re-skin the XJ as an MJ with a topper... So far, I took the gate and tails from a pic of Wade's truck... Rob :D
  12. For sure. CJ's are definitely an "Enthusiast" vehicle. If you don't enjoy the spirit of driving the thing the first time out, you never will. Rob
  13. Today's lesson: Although fun, driving ones Deuce and a Half off the top of a cliff leaves the vehicle in, er, less than operational condition. For Sale: One 1972 Military 2.5 Ton truck. Slight body damage. Make offer. Rob :D
  14. Have you tried a google search? Stuff like that should be easy to find. Sounds like you don't have anything though, I would pick up a Haynes/Chilton manual... They can be had pretty cheap, and will have more helpful info than just the owners manual. Or, just toss in a little more dough, and get an FSM off ebay or a local swap meet. Rob
  15. $10 and an ebay account and you could most likely buy the real deal. Rob
  16. Found a way to take care of the sound/missing vehicles/missing terrains... Under Settings at the main mode, go to the advanced tab and hit the clear cache button. It forces the simulator to reload all the packs and start fresh. Haven't had a problem since doing this before I start. It's given me time to play with new vehicles. Since I keep rolling over or flipping off the rock, I figured I would get a bit acquainted with the rotator tow truck, and was slinging around the Cummins truggy in the parking lot: Rob :D
  17. eBay.com Rob
  18. Anyone else have trouble with the sound sometimes? Rob :dunno:
  19. PS2. I think I found the game in the discount bin (rightfully so) at Walmart for like 7-8 bucks. Rob
  20. I bought it to unlock the Comanche and drive it, but I lost interest... Rob
  21. Since we run essentially the same system Correy, I know the chop you are talking about. I have it on: Texture filtering: Bi-linear Sky: Sandstorm Shadows: Texture or Stencil Water: Basic Vegetation: 50% It seemed to calm down a ton, and now the landscape isn't flashing. Rob :dunno:
  22. So... As I sit here bored at 3:50 AM... I recently re-discovered an old friend on the internet... Rigs of Rods. For those not familiar, it's an open source vehicle dynamics simulator. People make vehicles, landscapes, tracks, rock crawling comp courses... And it's all free. They have S10's, a lifted Cherokee, crawlers, Cummins Rams, and sweet semi's. They have options like selectable lockers, tires, and basically whatever you want. It has an available multiplayer option, so you can all meet up on one terrain and have a wheeling trip via the web. I downloaded the full version, with the capability to host a multiplayer... Once I get used to the game again, maybe we can do some e-wheelin'. Old MJ club thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=19691 Website: http://www.rigsofrods.com Offical video: 3A6OHnAD_Pc Here are some videos: TQCWDud9qfA Cl7SlYXd9Zg AYdwcc36m1A The hilux is pretty cool, but I have been having lots of fun with the bobbed and lifted Deuce and a half. :brows: Get it fired up, get reacquainted, and maybe we can all hit up a trail. Rob :typing:
  23. Just when I thought it was safe in the confines of the moderator section, they turned on me. ---AUTOMAN2164'S 1986 JEEP COMANCHE DIESEL / 1987 JEEP COMANCHE METRIC TON--- TWINS BAZIL! TWINS! Could it be the first trip down to meet everyone at the first Pow-Wow? Driving 600 miles to get some black interior? Nah, it was the one that started it all. My first MJ. A 1986 Comanche base, 2.5L's of fury, AX4, and a D35. So much fun that truck. I was always on the hunt for an MJ, and constantly watched a '92 Comanche Pioneer, Black 4x4, factory LWB rollbar... Loved that thing. I told ma what I was looking for, and we enlisted the help of a retired neighbor. We looked at an '89, rough. He advised me that it wasn't worth all the work. Then one day I saw this red '86 on the side of the road with a goofy bug guard (the '80's one that might as well been 2 foot tall and flat as a pancake), aluminum camper shell, and some eye catching American Racing wheels. Took it for a drive... It needed brakes, lights, and TLC but it was all there. Knowing what I know now, it was a $400 truck easy. I had to negotiate with a retired guy who had a nickname of "Spider". He was a fry short of a happy meal, goofy, and had a lazy eye that was scoping out low flying aircraft while he was looking at ya. Being young, and beside myself to get some wheels, I spent $1000. What a deal. The neighbor helped me with the brakes, and getting it ready for me to turn 15 and start driving it. I played with it all through high school, installing a full gauge cluster, racerback, and a CB. I sold it to make room for more, and regret it everyday. What owner loves best about CC What more can I say about you guys. Comanche Club is the first thing I look at in the morning, and the last thing I look at at night. I've met so many cool people, had some crazy stories, seen cool trucks, and learned a ton. Who would have thought that almost 10 years ago my first post on the Yahoo Comanche group would lead me here. I have been to Minnesota, Lower Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Indiana, Wisconsin, far reaches of IL, and any/all states in between. I have yet to meet a shifty or mean spirited member. Angela is constantly surprised by how nice every member I introduce to her is. After all, the trucks are cool, the site is nice, but what really makes the group, and what I love the most is plain and simple. You guys. I want to thank my fellow mods for the honor of being MJOTM, and would like to thank everyone, for making this a great place to be. Keep on wrenchin' Rob
  24. Didn't I tell you that? For what it's worth though... The whole look of everything is growing on me. The box and rails will be there for a year plus at least. They might even stay indefinitely. I plan on fixing it good enough to drive through the summer next year... Then tear down later. Rob
