Or, go to your local JY and put a handful of them in your toolbox. Easy to grab, dirt cheap. Rob

will this stroker setup work?
Automan2164 replied to ftpiercecracker1's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
...My thought at this point in your research is to buy a built crate engine... This. Rob -
Sweet. Hopefully it works out. Most people avoid '86's like the plague. If you are interested, I would trade you all of my grey interior stuff for your red stuff. Most don't like the red... I am forced to because my diesel has a factory red, and I am trying to keep it original. If you decide to ditch the rollbar, keep me in mind. That is, if you get the truck. Rob

Time and time again... The MJ I love the most in movies is the one with Halle Berry in it in "Monsters Ball" Rob

Ah. You are only after the real deal eh? Wasn't sure if you had seen this one... Pretty unique, even if it isn't the street MJ. But, as another man of authenticity, I see where you are coming from. Rob

This one is semi local to you, and it sounds like it has some interesting history... But I swear I've seen it on the interwebs before... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JEEP-PIC ... 1116#v4-44 Rob

Good to hear. Maybe they will have an idea of where your buddies tools went, but at least they can tie them to your stuff, and you know that they are caught. Some good in there. Well... Isn't something like that the reason she's an "Ex" Wife? I wouldn't dwell on it much. She's obviously just trying to get a rise out of you. Rob :dunno:

Surprised me Marcel! I would have thought you'd have seen one of these! They are hard to come by, but they do exist. Real weird looking. They mount as such, and then there is a plate/light relocation kit to basically put it to the right of the tire... Looks like a giant after thought. Badges too. They usually just move them up to right under the rear window. Rob

Beat me to it. Rob

Careful using aggregate stone like that... You get it hot enough, and it will start to pop and throw super sharp rock fragments everywhere. Rob

You seem like such a purist Eagle, it surprises me that you are so on board for the aftermarket. I would have thought you would be looking for a way to keep it Jeep. Learn something new everyday. Rob :dunno:

Think I have met ya via Pat once. Glad to see you found your way here. Rob

If you post the VIN up, I am sure one of our dealer connected cohorts will happily check the VIN for you... Or just call the dealer and ask... Rob :dunno:

Identify this hose?
Automan2164 replied to Old man with MJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I honestly don't think I have ever replaced it once I tore it off getting to something. I would imagine you could just size match something and make it work though. Rob -
Someone is riding the screwed the pooch train once again. A JF member deal went sour, and it's looking to be another "Charlie Wenzel" thread in the making. Enjoy: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f7/sent- ... 4-1326648/ Rob

Identify this hose?
Automan2164 replied to Old man with MJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It's to bring warm header air up to the airbox. Rob -
IIRC, all the front suspension stuff should bolt on to an MJ. Rob

Another thing to be aware of is that the roof line of the MJ/XJ are different. The MJ roof has a large dome/crown to it. XJ's are flat as a pancake. Might be simpler/easier to start with some sheet steel and see where that leads ya. Rob

Except for stuff that has been sitting on a shelf for 10+ years that is old dealer stock you are on your own for anything that doesn't cross with a 4 door Cherokee. With roughly 100K MJ's made and not a whole lot of them left, there isn't much demand for an aftermarket. Rob

Grab a drink out of the fridge and have a seat on the couch. Always room for one more. I'd snag a pic of the desk, but I haven't hung it on the wall yet. Yep, it gets that crazy around here. Be prepared for 1 truck to become 2, then the 2 to become 19. Rob.

Junkyard on route 14... Well, old route 14. Just before route 120 ends in Woodstock there is a junkyard. Rob

You check Route 14? Rob

You wouldn't want gas. Gas is a high strung, finnicky beast in RC. I used to think that it was gas or go home, but once you play with the trouble free electric, you don't go back. Besides, you need the low end torque that electric gives you for crawling. Using a nitro RC for rock crawling would be like dropping a dragster engine in your MJ and trying to go rock crawling. Rob
