Just take the tire off of the truck and take it to a local mom and pop shop. Most likely, if you toss them a few bucks, they would be obliged to help. Or, if you don't want to go that route, try the local county college or high school shop. They'll probably have the tools to get it done, and will do it for free. Rob L.

 I am defineatley keeping my eye on this thread. Believe it or not, I have a '90 LWB MJ with a bad 4.0L, and just picked up a '93 XJ with a lift and good drivetrain. I too, will be swapping out everything from the XJ to the MJ. Harness complete. As soon as I sell some crap, I am going to kick it off. Maybe we can help each other along. Rob L.

For any who know, how hard is it to swap the entire wiring harness for the HO conversion? Thanks Rob L.

Both have pros and cons. I liked the SWB for the looks at first, but when I had my old truck, after putting in a toolbox in the SWB, the bed got mighty small. I am building a LWB now because I want to be able to put a tool box in, and not use up half the bed. Rob L.

negative arched springs
Automan2164 replied to 90eliminator's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
How did they get to have a neg arch? Just sag? Or were you messing around with it? Rob L. -
Thanks, and I asked my agent one day on a joke. She said its about the same as insuring 5 vehicles really... Just laughed and didn't ask more. I'm sure there HAS to be an upside... Rob L.

Just got back from my latest purchase, which, according to state farm, now makes me eligible for fleet insurance. Just added a '93 4 Door XJ, 4.0L HO, AX15, NP231, with a six inch rubicon express lift  , and 31" BFG AT's to the family. Brings me up to 5 vehicles. (State farms min for fleet coverage). Not that I'll insure anything but my driver, but its cool knowing I can. ;) I found out it has a incomplete kit for the RE stuff. Lacking the upper arms, I am sure a few other things, has the new full leaf packs for the 6", but they don't do me any good. It does have the sway bar disco's, shocks, springs, lower arms... Basically, a good running start at what i need for the front of the MJ. Has a new slave, and lines. BFG's are in great shape. Came with a full set of 4 doors to replace the rusty ones (which just happen to be the same color i needed to replace the MJ doors 8) ) Complete with power and wing-winders. Has 285K on it, but runs awesome. Should be all I need to do the HO conversion on the '90. Only thing wrong with it is that the passenger side rotor grenaded. Needs a set of rotors and pads, and I'm bringing it home. :brows: Most likely, once I am done pulling the MJ specific stuff I need, I am probably parting out the remaining XJ stuff. I am sure someone would be interested in a set of 6" RE leaf packs...rear doors, interior stuff... :dunno: I'll post when I am ready to start parting with stuff. All this being said, I only paid $400. Score! Seems like I have a horse shoe up the arse lately. Rob L.

I'm flat broke, so my gps is mapquest and a laptop. And, don't have a printer, or a wireless card for that matter, so when I mapquest something, I bring it up on the screen and take the laptop with. Pretty long way to take a short cut, but hey, it works for me. :dunno: My redneck gps. It even talks to me, but only if I bring the girlfriend to read it aloud. Rob L.

Yep, Have been talking to Alex in PM's. I would love to see him finish that thing like I never did. And on a side note, I hope Dave yourself and I can work something out with the XJ. ;) Rob L.

:clapping: Thats what I did! Have a '96 2.5L 5 speed XJ sitting in the garage with 4.10's under it. Makes me warm and fuzzy inside when I think about those babies being under one of my MJ's one day... Rob L.

I got my old eliminator painted at maaco for $1900. :fool: (Now owned by girsmj86). They did a HORRID JOB. Drips everywhere, hair, overspray, old color under the bumpers, black drip in the interior door handle, even put the badges back in the wrong spot. Would have rattle-canned it desert camo if re-lived. I was 17, had too much money from summer overtime, and short attention span. I even took the time to paint the jambs myself before handing it over, then they over sprayed the crap* out of what I did. :fs1: Alex, that orange-peel on the bottom-half of the truck (below the lowest body line) is actually "supposed to be" a rubber like underspray installed my maaco to deter rock chips leading to rust. The orange peel on the rest of the truck is, well, just a poor paint job. Have you spotted the kitty-little sized rock dead center of the hood in front of the driver? Horrible. Looked good at 20ft, I guess that was a small victory. :dunno: Rob L. * Wasn't aware the 4 letter word for "human excrement" got auto corrected to poo, even with a ! in place of the i. Took me a min or two to realize this. Changed in any case, to crap. Learning something new everyday. ;) I like it.

Engine oil additives...
Automan2164 replied to CWLONGSHOT's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
will (whowey) on the group is an amsoil dealer, be interested in what he thinks about it. I live by seafoam. When I worked at ford, adding seafoam to the truck on a diesel was actually a warranty repair for one of the concerns they would come in with. Sold me there. If they reccommend it, and it works like it did, i use it. Rob L. -
