congrats mike, but i already told you that! :rotf:

just read the description under the pic: '95 shouldn't be a vortec motor unless it's a real late '95, '95 was the last year of the TBI motors... body looks super clean, but the mileage on it and the fact that it's a v-sucks (even though it's a stick)brings the value down a bit... i'd ask for $2600 and take no less than 2k...

year? miles? motor? stick/auto? mods? work done to it? I'm assuming it's 2wd.... it'd probably sell for more if you took those ugly taillights off it as well, i think i even have a spare set of factory ones somewhere i could sell you :rotf:.... body looks pretty clean, and i'm guessing thats not the original paint.. at quick glance and without knowing the mileage, if it's a 4.3 i'd say $2000, if it's a 305 $2500 - 3k, and if it's a 350 $3k-3500....

:shake: There ya go knocking Buffalo and the all the Blizzards we get  We get a couple of "lake effect" storms (like the one yesterday) per year, and you just happen to be in one of them :dunno: Fact is........Syracuse get's almost twice as much snow than Buffalo does each year. Oh, and if you were on Rt 20, that runs parallel with the thruway (I-90) and is a 'major' Intrastate thru here, and you were only 4 block from my shop :D You want to compare driving in blizzards.........I drove 90 mile thru the Blizzard of '77, from Wellsville (collage) to Lancaster, only to be stopped 4 miles from home, because of the 6 foot high drift on Rt 20/78 :fs1: Spent the night in a little dinner with 65+ other people, the dinner only held about 30 at the most, and next morning.......the dinner owner had a front end loader, that dug the drift out, and we were only able to go north on Rt 20/78, one lane, in some places, until I got to Lancaster, 2 lanes on a 5 lane highway, only to dig out my parents driveway that had 4 feet of snow in it  That was the one that did shut down the city for over a week, and at some of the intersections, you could walk the drifts and had to step over the traffic lights that were buried in the drifts, and of course the cars that were still buried there too. not knockin buffalo, i had some good times out there.... partied out there a couple times with some college buddies who were from there... i knew it was gonna be a bad storm before i left cleveland, they were goin on about it all day on the news the day before... i figured if i left early enough i'd miss it.... shoulda just banged outta school and left first thing in the morning instead of 3 in the afternoon... i know all about the lake effect snow, i lived 1 mile from lake erie for 2 years... and i'm pretty sure now that it was rt. 20 cause we followed it for a while until we caught 90 again.. all i remember about that stretch was stopping at the indian reservation right off the exit for coffee and cigs...

i had a '99 lesabre for 4 years, luckily i never had to change to heater core in that... on crown vics/grand marquis/town cars it's just as much of a PITA, the whole dash has to come out as well... it's like they put the core on the assembly line and built the car around it... i've never replaced a heater core with a factory one, i've used either autozone or carquest ones with no problems... couple different things i can think of, is usually the heater core has some kind of foam surrounding it to insulate it from vibration, if it was reinstalled without the foam surround it can move around and spring leaks... and i'm guessing this won't apply to you, but on the road service truck we use at work (95 F3fixme), with all the electronics and extra grounds for everthing we added to the truck frame (strobes, start-all, air compressor, etc) the antifreeze is getting electrically charged somehow (never seen that before, and noone here can figure out why) and it eats through a heater core about once a year.. luckily it only takes about an hour to change it though, so it's not too bad

the first real roadtrip i took on my own was moving from mass to ohio after high school... i had a '93 2wd 4cyl. 5spd. isuzu pickup with a cap on it and managed to fit almost everything i had at the time into the back of it...made it out there no problems, so here are some more memorable ones: another time i went from cleveland, oh to marengo, in and back in just under 24 hours.. headed down there to pick up a ford ranger given to my college roomate by his aunt, we left cleveland around 5, got down there around midnight, we worked out in the bitter cold to get the damm thing running and then left shortly after daybreak ... on the way back the isuzu started losing power and i was stuck at 45 on the highway... pulled over at a rest stop and figured out that the accelerator cable was stretched out :dunno: ... taped a bunch of napkins in between the cable and bracket to take up the slack and drove it like that till i sold it a year later :rotf: ... and one other time i was headed back to mass from ohio for christmas break and almost got stranded in buffalo in the middle of a raging blizzard that locked down the city for almost 2 weeks.. rt. 90 was closed off, and they were rerouting everyone to some backroad (rt.20 i think)... the snow was coming down so hard that i literally couldn't see the end of the hood on the isuzu, and being 2wd and all i have no idea how i got through that... i was bringing another kid from mass home to his place and he said his dad would pay for a hotel room for the night if we wanted to wait out the storm, and i said "you're nuts, if we stop we'll never make it out of here"... so we kept going and as soon as we got out of buffalo 3 hrs. later the roads were clear the rest of the way...

not bad... i'm on at&t and i got myself a blackberry last year at xmas time cause they were running a hell of a deal on them..... and whilst at the store i found out i was eligible for a 30% discount cause of where i work.... so going to the unlimited blackberry plan from just a basic talk/text plan cost me less every month as well

if you need to remove something attached with two bolts, it will be directly behind something attached with twelve bolts...

yeah definitely get rid of the merkur.... i'm surprised that there's still one of those around, havent seen one in years and i thought for sure that they'd all dissolved in the rain or been consumed by fire by now... can't imagine it's all that easy to get parts for that thing either, such as the wiring harness you need....
-
my guess would be the IAC on the throttle body....

ya, i'd take an awd astro over a voyager any day of the week.... it's too bad they don't make em anymore, i think if they did they'd still sell well.... good find, and if the motor is no good you can always rip out the awd stuff and swap it into an s10 or blazer and make a syclone/typhoon clone :brows:

what would a 4cly with 3.09 be like?
WBKrazy replied to comanche13's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
in a race between an mj with a 2.5 and 3.07's and a 1982 craftsman 15hp lawn tractor, it'd be tough to guess who the winner would be... :dunno: i know mine with a 2.5 and 3.55's couldn't even beat a 1.6L 4spd. toyota tercel -
how different are 3:55 gears to 3:54 gears?
WBKrazy replied to comanche87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
hmmm... i always figured that the slight difference in gears is why they tell you not to use the 4x4 on dry pavement... i had the same question a while back when i replaced the front diff in my old '91 bronco, and thats what i was told... that had 3.55's out back and 3.54's up front as well.... -
Convert Rotors from one to two piece
WBKrazy replied to streetjeep2.5's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
not worth it, IMO.... 4 wheel bearings @ $10.00 apiece, 2 $3.00 grease seals, and 2 $35.00 rotors (at least thats what they were when i replaced mine) still doesn't add up to what one hub style bearing costs if it does go bad... -
man can my luck get any worse????
WBKrazy replied to STERLING STINGER's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
mine was really bad when i first bought it, there's a s-curve on the highway here with a ridge in the road right in the middle of the curve, and when i hit the ridge it was so bad that it would literally shake and jump into the next lane.. put new tires on it, and it hasn't come back... yet..... -
a lil red toolbox with an assortment of cheapo tools my dad gave me when he got rid of his old van, and a 10.00 socket/ratchet set in a plastic box i bought at benny's..

Upper and Lower control arm questions...
WBKrazy replied to knever3's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
it's doable, but it is a PITA.... and if you do replace them, buy the good ones so you don't have to do it again in 8 months.. i'd go with the rubber ones, not a huge fan of poly suspension bushings myself cause they don't allow for as much flex as the rubber ones, IMO... i helped my buddy do his, we used an electric drill with a big bit and drilled multiple holes through the rubber, and worked what was left out of the hole... to put them in though, id recommend taking them to a machine shop or some place with an arbor press, trying to get the new ones in is the worst part of the whole job.. we managed to get one of the lower bushings fully seated after what seemed like forever, and he ended up taking the rest of them to work and pressing them in there.. -
haha.. looks good! brake cleaner will do the same thing, usually ill soak a rag with it and wipe down whatever i want to clean
