  1. What are you hosting your pics through ? I really need to learn myself too . I am ashamed that I'm that computer illiterate not to be able to .
  2. I agree , but someone might have an Xj that's looking for one .
  3. Overshoot is caused by bad bushings in the wiper transmission . You can buy new bushings at your local parts store in the " help "section . Part# dorman 49447 .
  4. When I swapped the drivetrain into my 89 Comanche (that was manual )from a 95 xj with a floor shifter I had to drill the hole in the firewall for the cable in the location 3-4 inches from the pedal as you described . I used the shift cable that came with the 95 xj there was a thread on this but I can't find it . Alexia had a pic of the firewall somewhere .
  5. Babyblack86 on here has extra parts along with the other members that have the factory diesels . I don't think you'll ever lose money on it unless they want a fortune .
  6. Maine , but I know he goes to Arizona as well . I don't see or talk to him much , but my aunt ( his mom ) just passed and we got to see eachother . When he said A10 I remembered this thread .Image Not Found
  7. Just found out my cousin flys one of these. He is also a instructor .
  8. Anyone else see there is a visor on the white cherokee in the background off to the right .
  9. At least you have the weather going for you CJ. Lol. The urethane is softer in the heat and is easier to cut through and make damaging the windshield less likely is what I meant . Thanks Don
  10. Butyle should not be used for a windshield , urethane is what is being used now . Flowable silicone is a temporary fix as the rust will allow the window to eventually leak again . Ask your local windshield place if they have a better product for sealing the windshield if you don't want to remove it . The window has a better chance coming out in warm weather if you're going to take it out .
  11. Chainsaw. :rotfl2: Are you sure you'd still be standing after a case ? Might lose a limb in the process lol.
  12. The caliper piston does sit above the rotor slightly as you said they were . The casting numbers on mine are 103707 ,337 and 323 . The part stores should be able to use the casting number to match up to make sure you have the correct calipers . Also check the calipers to make sure the bleeders are at the top of both calipers , I've had several wrong boxed ones .
  13. Your insurance company should go after USAA not you . They have lawyers and that should be part of there job . Do you have receipts of all the parts you had just bought before the accident? Their insurance company (like all others) of course doesn't want to pay money out . In my experience working at a body shop in Ohio the rental not only goes against your claim but they may not pay the full amount if it was above what they pay per day .
  14. Have you switched the turn signal flasher with the 4way flasher ? Also check the connection for the front lighting harness at the air box on the drivers side , may be corroded inside .
  15. You can put a tilt column in from the same year / era Comanche / cherokee .
  16. An XJ is a small cherokee and a Zj is a 93-98 grand cherokee . The aw4 was offered in the 98 Xj, but I believe the newer aw4 and the older transmission control module TCM would not work together . Sticking with the same era transmission parts would be the easiest way to go IMO .
  17. A 98 grand cherokee should have a 42re trans behind a 4.0 . Sure it's a aw4?
  18. Thanks Tim , those are some of the issues I'm worried about . Of course I can learn as I go along as you had to , but would like to do it right the first time . Thanks again .
  19. Thanks Eagle . I understand that ^^ much and was hoping that someone that may have done this swap before would shed some light on what clutch they used or problems they had etc etc . I'd like to have all parts in my possession or at least enough parts that I can bolt the trans and tcase before I start taking the truck apart . I apologize for not being clear . I hope I'm not overthinking this . Thanks again Eagle
  20. Well I scraped the ax15 swap and picked up a nv3550 out of a 02 Tj to put in with 89k for 500 . He gave me the trans mount and bracket and transfer case linkage as well so at least I have something to modify if I need to . So here is yet more questions : What clutch will I use ? The one for the Tj or the Mj /xj with a ax15 ? The splines and diameter of each clutch are the same from what I can tell but I won't be sure what the bolt pattern of the Tj clutch plate is to match the renix flywheel until the old trans is out . I'm sure that I'll have to use the throw out bearing from the Tj , but would like to know which clutch to purchase ahead of time . The pilot bearing seems to be the same between the two trans with 1.055 O.D. And a 7.50 I.D and is included in the Tj clutch kit 1890-05 . I've read on a post that the nv3550 is an inch shorter than the ax15 ? So that means a custom/ shortened front driveshaft or the ax15 shaft or Peugeot shaft will work ? Thanks in advance for the help advice .
