  1. My friend that works at a local Jeep dealership told me about this dealership (Barnett Jeep in Greenville Pa ) closing and selling / scraping there inventory that hasn't yet been sold . I went up this morning and bought quite a bit of both new and used parts . They opened in 1962 and closed in April of this year . They need to be out by the end of the month so they are basically throwing stuff away and it's been picked over pretty good . I'm going to try to go again tommorow but I have a job interview at 10 am . If you need something give me part numbers and I can see if it's there . He does not have everything itemized so the only way is to look . Here are some pics I took of what's left , no sheet metal or rather large items are left .
  2. I talked to the product manager at Omix Ada at Bantams Jeep Festival last weekend where they had 7 completely restored vehicles on display . I asked him about reproducing some Comanche specific parts like fuel sending units , tail lights, cab corners , rocker panels and rear bumpers . He said there was not a big enough demand or market to remake parts for the Comanche . He did however say he would talk about remaking the fuel sending unit and if sales were good maybe they would consider doing more parts . He said don't get your hopes up but he would TRY .
  3. I know some people up here in the northeast would buy one at $150 plus shipping . It seems that everyone decides to hit my truck(s) in the rear so I'll be holding on to my nos bumpers .
  4. Get yourself a Haynes / chilton or full service manual (FSM ) , a very good investment and you don't have to wait on answers .
  5. Here is how the bulbs are held in .,
  6. ^^ this . See if the head is an improved TUPY head , which is stamped on the top of the head beneath the valve cover by the 3rd cylinder . Compression and leak down test would be what I did next .
  7. What's the compression in all the cylinders ? Are you losing any antifreeze , or is it mixing with the oil ?
  8. Yeah, I know, I have one of each. My bad. No worries . It's been that long since I changed the oil in the XJ........you've reminded me. Actually, I use 5qts and 1qt Lucas......that's how that statement came out wrong. I never make mistakes , hahaha . I understand
  9. Yeah, I know, I have one of each. My bad. No worries .
  10. The 4.0 has 6 qts of capacity .
  11. I was told my melling high volume pump would not clear oil pan without messaging the pan a bit for clearance . Never had any issues , but it is bigger than the stock pump .
  12. I have a NOS drivers side tail light that I'd like to trade for / buy a NOS passenger tail light . I know it's a long shot but I've got to ask . I'd even pay shipping both ways if you have one to trade . Here's a picture of mine .
  13. Dukes of Hazard !!
  14. I'm using my iPhone4 , so whatever comes installed and yes it is accepting cookies . Thanks for the help Pete . Seems to be working again , strange .
  15. When I posted them they did not appear . Now they are here , I don't get it either . When I try to select the link on photobucket to copy so I can paste on here it says "try again later " and has for roughly three days . I really thought I had this down pat .
  16. Now the pictures aren't working , photobucket has been telling me to try again later , but this has been days that it hasn't worked .
  17. I have a set on mine with 225/75/15 tires and if anything it handles better .
  18. Ok I was going to say I know someone local to me that has a 89 4.0 with 72k for $600. Came out of a Xj with a bad frame . But you're of course too far away ..
  19. Where do you live ? Finding a nice low mileage renix era engine at a junkyard is best in my opinion , but is probably the hardest to do as well . I have went the autozone route before with bad results :head gasket went 8 months later and I asked them to replace both at the same time and they would only pay to replace one. Sure enough the other head gasket went months later when it was out of warranty . A jasper engine would be a good option if you want a rebuilt engine with a good warranty and reliability IMO . Cruiser54 has a detailed write up how you can install certain year HO engines running renix electronics . Look in his signature and you'll have all the info on swapping it in .
  20. 87-90 IMO
  21. Here is the Upol bedliner . It's held up nice but I don't use it as a work truck though .
