  1. Glad to hear it. I do not think so. It has some sort of winch bumper. Winch looks well used and aged. I think I will head over tomorrow and talk to him with some cash ready for the truck.
  2. Guy down the road pulled his '87 MJ out of the weeds and put a for sale sign on it. My quick study: 155K, SWB, AW4, Rusted through and through, tan buckets, winch, and a DANA 44!!!! He wants $250 for the truck and $250 for the winch. Not bad, I would probably not take the winch unless he is willing to do a really good package deal.... $300. Any chance this thing would have the metric ton springs? What is involved in swapping the D44 into a rig with the D35? Are the U-Joints any different? Will the drive shaft length be an issue? If I end up getting this thing for the axle I'll part it out or use as a farm truck with my current D35 installed.
  3. The fan does work. Albeit a little rough and noisy, but it works. It will come on when the Temperature sensor in the thermostat is unplugged. The fan does not come on when I turn the HVAC selector to AC. Where is the fan relay on the HO? I will double check the fuses.
  4. I bought this truck in February and am now noticing that the temperature likes to climb to the 3/4 mark on the full cluster when stopped. It is a 1992 4.0. I replaced the temperature switch (for the gauges) and the temperature sender on the thermostat. The auxiliary fan does not come on. I know the fan works. When I disconnect the temperature sender, the fan comes on as well as a MIL. The fan does not come on when I turn the dash selector to AC either. Granted the AC does not work and the compressor does not cycle. I searched and did not find much information to troubleshoot the fan operation on a non-Renix engine, short of a toggle switch. What suggestions do you have for me to try, inspect, or replace? Thanks.

    pic request

I do not have the stickers you are looking for, but all I know is you get really fast shipping from him!
  8. Another topic that should be discussed is how to diagnose and fix AC problems. Now that it is warm out I can tell there is no difference between fan, AC, and Max AC. Where to start? What to fix/check?
  9. Well, that works out well. I see nothing right with it ... To be fair, the CJ does look like it has a straight grill.... Wow, I would like to drive one of those XJ's. Would be, interesting.
  10. yea i wasnt too happy when the lit it and the fsj cherokee on fire Thought that was a cut XJ? I've been known to be wrong though.

    swine flu

Heck the two cases reported in KS are a couple that live down the highway about 20 miles. I'm still not worried. No reason to worry. It is treatable if you get it. Could use a little down time anyhow.
  12. I like being a guinea pig and use google chrome in XP. *bling-bling* Every now and again I get a "failed to load" screen. Refresh and we are good. Have not had that problem in the month that I have had Windows 7 RC installed on my other computer using chrome. I always copy test to a long post in fear of loosing it all.
  13. I'll be. Missed that one. I like the tread design. Be the first to let us know how they do! :D
  14. Stay far away from the GY MTR if you even think about moisture or mud. Had the 245 and 285 size's on my Rubi. While the tires were awesome on rock and hardpack soil, they would become nearly worthless when driven through water/mud. I replaced those tires with Cooper STT's in the 315 size and have not been disappointed. Great on road manners, smoother than the MTR, about the same on the hardpack/rocks as the MTR, and much better when it comes to mud/water. I also opted for the Cooper as they are still made in the USA (as are the Goodyear).

  16. I have always been under the impression that it was the V8 ZJs that had the beefier steering set up. Or do all ZJs have it?

    Rubicon Wheels

I am headed to pick some Moabs up next week, about 2.5 hrs away for $200. They have been blasted and I anticipate painting them with Dupicolor wheel coating. That is a silly good price in this area. Plus they were off an '05, so they were not the polished aluminum the 03/04 had:thumbsup: Heck, I was looking for factory Canyons, Eccos, and Ravines for the MJ and could not find a local asking price under $250 for just wheels, in good shape. People are proud of their stock wheels in this area. Makes me sick. I would say $300 is a good price for the wheel in good shape. They are 16" aluminum wheels so they won't be dirt cheap, no matter the design.

  24. Gah, I got a call from him last night. Come to think of it, I need to return that call today. ;) I am looking for a 91/92 Fuel pump/float assembly. In his message he stated that he might have one unit from a 91 out there.
