It is kind of like a miniature Forward Control

It is true, dogs are mans best friend and often times even more than that. I have lost two goldens in the last 3 years. First was 'Sam' a victim of undetected cancer at 8 years old that he never showed signs of having, and then 'Bo', who was 15 years old and could not overcome old age. They were my childhood best friends and never let me down. May Piper rest in peace. I am sure she will be missed dearly.

I have the Mopar CD for my 2003 TJ. Fantastic tool. It seems very complete, yet finding some of the odd parts can be a challenge digitally. Helped me rebuild my first 4.0 70,000 miles ago. Plus you can think about and plan on working on your Jeep when out of town or what no. You can buy the CD and print the whole deal in paper if you want :rotf: Rob, If all goes according to plan for me, I will be pulling the HO harness out of my 92 this winter in hopes of getting the 00/01 XJ harness in there. PM me if interested.

Nice When camping in the rockies I use the winch line as a cloths line. String it up and hang dry towels or your passengers britches they had to clean because you had to take the "fun line" on the trail. Makes quick work as a rain fly for those wet evenings, just drape a tarp over the winch line and pull it taught. It is also a useful stump puller.

Nice? Immaculate? Shiny? Not me! Although my MJ has been known to visit KC on occasion, typically to pick up... none other than MJ parts

I have found that the forum software will mess up some of the photobucket tags after clicking post. You could also put all of the pictures in an album on photobucket and just post the link. Looks like a fun trip, even with only 2 pictures!

Jeep sells its self:

I absolutely love the simplistic message in those commercials: "There is a new truck on the road, Jeep Comanche. Its worth a look." I wish car companies would bring back the simplistic message in their advertising. Nowadays it is too much music, sound effects, worthless hype, and blabbing on TV. The few Jeep commercials on TV are fairly decent, but do not have the, "Its worth a look" punch line.

Better Roll/Brush on Coating???
87Warrior replied to ComancheKid45's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Once the weather holds out for a few days, I will be spraying the U-Pol in the bed of my MJ. I will let you know how it turns out. I recall reading that somebody used a small pancake compressor to power the U-Pol provided gun. I have the duplicolor bedliner on my winch plate. First coated in self etching primer then the liner. No problems yet. I also have it on my rockhard cage, no problems. I like the texture, much like the factory plastic dash pieces in a newer XJ or TJ. I have only seen the outcome of Herc and did not like the texture. Way to rough and bumpy. -
Think you picked two of the best members here, Pete

Details!!! What was the purpose of the trip? ..and I wanna see some pictures!!!!!!!!!

That has been on the net for quite some time. I still do not get why all Jeepers hate it so much. Remove the lights and funny hydraulics and you would have a rust free CJ with a straight frame. :dunno: The bumper would have to go as well! The lighted jacket is just too far! Read some of the comments on youtube for that video. Talk about a flame fest! Read through them and think learned the video is in Italian. Jeepenza!

SirSam, you seem to have some sort of 'hippie love' for vans  Not bad mileage considering the height. But ack, 23K for that little squirrelly thing... AND $55 for floor mats! There is a nice Ford. Almost hurt to say it!

Thank you for your public service ;) The law is pretty respectable around here, had a few bad melons about 10 years back that we got flushed out.

Sheesh, that makes Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane look like a saint. Would have been a good time to speed through the city, with all 7 police staff in the court room.

I am a couple hours from KC, in Kansas. Welcome to the club :waving:

What fun is an MJ if you don't drive it? I see what you are saying... but, I believe if you carefully maintain your rig, 200K may come and go with out much notice... and it will not look bad at all!
-
How long will you be in MO once returning? Keeping my eye on a Jeep south of Ozark. Or... Drive the MJ and do some wheeling!
-
I maybe what some guys here would call a "kid"... I started regularly driving a 5 speed at 14 years old, in a 90 YJ. Thank you Kansas Law ;) Now at 23 I can say learning to drive a manual made me a better, alert, driver. It is impossible to make a phone call while driving a manual un-alone trying to text (assumed, never tried). Go with NV3550 for the win!
-
MJ - AW4 TJ - NV3550 I am a big fan of both of these transmissions. Love the 5 speed, but it is a pain in a traffic jam. The auto is just a good, solid, transmission in a Jeep. As for wheeling, I spend most of my time with the 5 speed. Why? It just happens to be in the TJ. I would get plain bored in an auto or 5 speed only. The best of both worlds for me

Welcome :typing: Oh yeah... :needpics:

5 years better chance at a floor? Mine must have gotten beat with the watering stick. A small child could fall through my 92. It has lived its life in the rust belt though. Don't hold your breath on that D44 either...my D35 has held up to 200K miles! (soon to be replaced by a '91 D44) Do what you want. I do not foresee the '92 MJ becoming a collectors edition vehicle or anything like that. It just a harder to find year. Although, if you do get it we will at least know where a handful of 92's ended up
