  1. Welcome! Seems you have a valentines MJ... '92 FTW Nice truck. Enjoy your stay here! Could you help us out about your TJ bucket conversion? I find the seats in my '03 to be the most comfortable things in the world and would love to have something like them in my MJ.
  2. What a bummer. At least you are now the proud owner of a genuine piece of history :brows: I have had great luck with the Superwinch EPi9.0 on my TJ. Some parts made across the pond, but assembled in the USA. The same unit (not mine though!) would look great on your truck
  3. Did the BFG AT get a redesign recently? For some reason that is in my mind. I did run a set of the BFG AT's in the 31" size. Good tire as stated above, but I felt that the wet traction was poor. With the tread design, water is not able to escape when going down the road and did result in a 45mph hydroplane for me.
  4. For tires, take a look at the USA made Cooper stuff. Cooper and Goodyear are the only two tire manufactures left solely in the US. I have been very happy with my Cooper STT's on my TJ in a 35. The tires ride smoother than the 31s and 33s in the old style Goodyear MTR. The tires bite better, actually provide traction when wet, and are quieter on the road. They are a bit aggressive and might not suite well for a DD if you complain about noise. The STT's on my rig: My MJ will be running a Cooper ST (not STT) in a 30" size when the time comes. I have asked folks in parking lots running these tires about them and have never heard a bad comment bout them. Wheelers say the tire is a bit sidewall stiff to get a lot of bulge when wheeling. I have spent more time than I would like to admit reading various forums and the opinions on the ST's are very good for an aggressive DD tire. A TJ running wide ST's:
  5. We had a small discussion here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=19409 As you can see, there is no universal agreement on oil. I use a 10w-30 AECA A1/A5 or A3 oil. You can see the discussion in the link ;) I am running Castrol Syntec (or Vavoline Synthetic in a pinch) 10w-30 in my MJ with 200,000 miles on the factory engine. She runs great down the road, but does tend to drip a little bit out of the RMS with the synthetic in there. When I got the truck, I did an oil change (185K) and the goop that came out was the most putrid black oil I ever saw or smelled. Now with regular synthetic changes, the oil improves in smell and appearance each oil change. It is important to note I am running the HO 4.0, not early style(87-90), so the head is slightly different. Oil Filters are a fun discussion to. I run a Mobile 1 or Bosch filter. My reasoning can be found by studying the links below: http://minimopar.knizefamily.net/oilfilters/index.html http://www.rubiconownersforum.com/phpbb ... 38&t=58887 (not sure if you can open or not. The same study done buy a tech on the Rubicon forum)
  6. Congratulations! My truck just past the 200K mark. The TJ is 10K short of 100K. Jeeps are ment to be enjoyed and driven. Enjoy it!
  7. A quart would be more than enough to cover the floor pans. I used about 3/4 inch out of a pint to do my D44. Not sure if liner will stick or not.
  8. won't be able to upload it to the RoR Repository because I borrowed the Squishy Cherokee. But I am sure we can figure out how to share. This is my first time trying to build a vehicle, so it will be a while :ack:
  9. Started working on a long bed MJ for the game. It is truly amazing how this works. Everything is made from simple nodes and beams, kind of like Tinker Toys! Need to get the wheelbase set and I think the bed is a bit too long... Image Not Found
  10. Latch shipped this afternoon. Thanks!
  11. Thanks 8) She is not as clean as the pictures indicate. Although I know your project is much more challenging! The rockers, cab corners, bedsides, and floors are rusted out. Front fenders, doors and bed are dented and wavy. Sit on the road grime stained bench (from the holes in the floor) and hit the base springs. In addition to the 55mph violent shaking, a new 45mph vibration has begun. The truck did great last weekend at hauling my ATV around for the first time. Tonight after a hard stop to avoid a large buck, my 'Brake' light has illuminated. Good news is my new drivehsaft showed up for the TJ tonight as well. Assuming all goes well, I can start tearing down the MJ and DDing the TJ after Thanksgiving break!!! I love my truck :D
  12. :shake: :grrrr: I have found that it is nearly impossible to buy a CFC rig once in the yard. I guess some sort of regulation.
  13. Received this e-mail from POR-15 and thought I should share with my fellow MJ'ers since rust is our enemy.
  14. Hehe, just don't fall off and keep rolling! Image Not Found When are we going to organize a CC multiplayer? If it is slow, go to the config and set everything as low/basic as possible. It only gets slow for me when I try to haul two rigs behind the semi.
  15. Version 0.36.2 here. You are simply placing the vehicles in the wrong folder. Go to "My Documents" [NOT My Computer]then open the "Rigs of Rods" folder. You will see 6 folders, one of which is named "packs". Simply copy the (.zip) file you downloaded and paste it in the packs folder. Image Not Found (Note: your file path may read C:\My Documents\Rigs of Rods\packs) You can see I have a few trailer, trucks, a Camaro pack, and the Rock Crawl track. All are working well together. As Rob suggested, I only put one .zip file in the packs folder at a time in case there are any issues with the game. This way I would know what caused the problem, but I have not had any issues yet.
  16. Have the handle with cable clips in pretty good shape. Some surface rust on the back. It operates smooth but is dirty. I can not find the three torx screws for it though. Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Not sure what a fair price is, but shipping will be $5-10 to you. Say $20 shipped to your door?
  17. What part of the latch system do you need? I have most of the latching system on my junk (dented) tailgate and would take out what you need.
  18. Saw the ad for that '92 tonight while searching around. I say do it 88mj! I know you are hurting to get back into a real truck :D
  19. Interesting. I have not experienced any issued with the RoR sites while using Google Chrome, which usually happens on sites. If you have an e-mail account that can accept up to 10mb I can send the .zip. PM your address if you want. I am going to attempt making an MJ model. We will see how well this goes since tech-talk hurts my brain :shake: Edit: started learning how these trucks are built. Just a little goofing off I did while trying to learn this stuff: Image Not Found
  20. Remember that you do not need to do anything to the downloaded file. Do not try to unzip it or anything. Just place the zip in the packs folder. It took me a few times to figure this out
  21. Hmmm, have you added any other .zip files to the packs folder? It is possible the forum download link was bad, try the repository link: http://repository.rigsofrods.com/show/squishyjeep.zip Do you get any errors, or does it just shut down? Try messing with some of the settings in configurator.
  22. Nice
  23. I would have to say that MJ is not worth the $600. It would be a good candidate for fabrication as you posted though. There was an '88 4.0, D44, 150K miles truck down the road from me that sold for $250 plus another $250 for a winch. Bed was rusty but the rest of the truck was solid. I missed buying it by 3 hours
  24. http://forum.rigsofrods.com/index.php?topic=19860.0 Download the .zip file and simply place it in: My Documents\Rigs of Rods\packs
  25. Check here: http://repository.rigsofrods.com/ Basic instruction. Download the .zip file, place in: My Documents\Rigs of Rods\packs, start up the game. As Rob suggested, only add one at a time in case there are problems. To get more than one truck in the game just pull away from the garage and walk back to the office. I need to learn how to make a truck. I have a very good MJ model that I used during school when rendering SketchUp scenes.
