Rear air bag helper kit
87Warrior replied to socal1200r's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have been thinking about the airlift kit as well. Seems like a good alternative to stiffer springs. Plus it would give me a good reason to install OBA in the MJ  -
Good luck on the recovery. Don't rush it. Pong can wait.
-
Oh yes  Might want to put a NSFW (language) on that one.

I have seen that first one a few times. Terrible extraction technique. Should have winched him straight backwards, IMHO. Probably did not want to get the fancy white truck dirty though. Any idea if the second guy had factory control arms? I would tend to guess 'yes' since it looks like he has a 3" spacer lift on the front with the stock swaybar links still connected. The look on that guy's face is priceless. Looked like a nice Jeep  *two more reasons why I hate mud :waving:

My sister and I purchased a 10" Dell Netbook for our mother. It runs XP Home, Office 2007 Professional, and the internet fine. IIRC it has 1gb RAM and a 160gb Hard Drive. It is pretty fast for what it is. Uninstall all the extra pre-loaded crap on there and you should be happy. The size is too small for me and I have eagle vision. The resolution sucks and clarity is pathetic. Just not enough room on the screen for everything. The keyboard is small but not uncomfortable.

bluish ring for cigarette lighter?

When rooting around behind the dash of a Jeep, it is pretty safe to assume an orange wire is for back lighting. Always double check though :smart: -
performance parts ? they offer any ?
87Warrior replied to AMC-MJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Do not buy an exhaust upgrade 'kit'. Just take your truck to the local muffler shop and have 'em install everything from the header/manifold back. Should not cost you more than $300 in labor and parts (catalytic converter, muffler, pipe). -
Heat shrink butt splicing wires.

Any idea if you can get them any place locally? I would like to inspect them before purchase. I have always had great luck the old fashion way. -
Honestly, I think stale urine would have smelled better than my carpet insulation smelled when I pulled it out of the truck.

Aww man. Not nearly as cool as I thought :shake:

I really like the Commander front clip. Looks better than the 2500 for sure. Have not seen that done before. ---------------------------------- Credits: Jeep Camanche :huh???:

I had been watching it, but got behind on about a months worth of episodes... Time to catch up :D I like the show, because it goes along well with my education in Landscape Architecture and get some of the dumb jokes.

So true, so true :ack: I simply follow my father's words of advice: "There's never anything easy" :smart:

I would say trade, but hold out for a better quality XJ. Looks like that one has been through the ringer. Not sure about the 90-91 changes that may have occurred. I have never understood the fascination some people have for the late 80s/early 90s 4cylinder turbo cars. The Conquest is about the only one I can stand to look at :rotf:

Hope its high quality. Otherwise the bit will twist and snap.... Took me three sets of cheap torx before I paid high dollar.

 My TJ gets mod money and the MJ gets factory replacement parts... for the most part. Need pics of the Tool Man's Shirt. Did not realize that was your MJ was on the allthingsjeep shirt. I have one. Well I got my first ever white Christmas here in KS, I will be 24 in March. This year was darn good to me: - Rokmen gas tank skid - KC Windshield light brackets - Skinny Pedal 'mini-me' LED Rock Lights - Trail Knife - SuperWinch Wireless winch remote - SuperWinch Cover - Night at the Museum I and II - The Unit, season 4

Lowering it and keeping the 35's won't help the U-joint issue, so I voted leave it.... BUT: - Alloy Shafts - Gear to 4.88 You complained about fuel economy and the 4.88's should bring it close to the stock configuration. When in for the gearing get all of the bearings and seals replaced. The added cost won't be much, but having a virtually brand new, tight, axle will keep everything in line. No reason your D30 can't handle 35's unless you drive like an idiot

Hauling hedge post: Anytime I load her down like that, the 'Brake' light illuminates.

Upper and Lower control arm questions...
87Warrior replied to knever3's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Hmm, did not realize the MJ did not have the cam bolts. Learn something new everyday. The few, stock, +03 TJ's (including mine) has them on the axle end of the front LCA. FWIW, they are very expensive to replace... -
:ack: I see where that cat is coming from, but as with anything, I believe he took the written words out of context. I fly the flag upright. Sure, I don't like what is happening on the hill, but I believe in America and the people will pull through these times and prevail.

Upper and Lower control arm questions...
87Warrior replied to knever3's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The front lowers have cam bolts to dial in Caster: -
Wait, so tonight is Christmas Eve, but what about right now... Right now it is the same day as it will be tonight

Welcome Mike :wavey:

man can my luck get any worse????
87Warrior replied to STERLING STINGER's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
With a front right clunk I would replace the axle end of the trackbar bushing. This is one end of your trackbar. Replace the bushing that this bolt slides through. Image Not Found Could also be the control arm bushings or ball joints wiggling when the weight of the truck is pushing down on them. But like you said, baby steps  -
I can not comment on the durability yet since the new bed is sitting on saw horses in the garage. I did a lot of research prior to buying the liner on various Jeep/truck forums not only on the application and texture, but the durability. It seems everybody that prepped the surface has had no problems with the liner. It is also UV protected to resist the fading that happens with other liners. I have the duplicolor liner sprayed on my TJ's cage and winch plate. My application method of the U-Pol is certainly yielded a thicker and more textured surface than the duplicolor. If you wanted a more aggressive texture, all you need to do is drop the air pressure to the gun down. Initially I just wanted to swap the drivetrain and interior over with a fresh coat of paint on the outside. As the project evolved, I figured that if I am 75% there, why not take it completely down and get everything treated for rust and longevity. I am building the truck in anticipation that I will be my DD and will last 30 more years at least. When the drivetrain comes out of the MJ, new floors will be welded in, then the entire under carriage treated with POR15 then some sort of undercoating (still need to research that). After that, the body work will be done and everything swaped over. Sounds like a piece of cake doesn't it :rotf:
