235s is barely a difference from 215s, you'll notice a slight power decrease but it won't be bad... mums 4.0 auto XJ runs 235s and 3.55s and still throws down when floored

so i guess mine has the worst of everything :D no knock sensor, but renix ignition, and no egr because its a 97. closed cooling system, and probly alot of effed sensors

though ill be buying a more local bumper (having a local shop make the bumper i want exactly how i want it cause he's strapped for cash, and i don't want to ship it) but i would want a bumper that's tied into the frame likle crazy, (hella strength) chop the lower edge flush with the bumper on the sides behind the tire, skid-plate type that lower 1/4, with the bumper sticking out maybe 2" in the rear so as to protect the taillights, and 2" receiver welded in the center. just for reference. :brows:

What should be replaced when swapping axles?
Oizarod115 replied to clarkerussell's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
have him check the metal brake lines as well they tend to get mini little pinholes from rust which sucks. are you putting in a 35 or a 44? -
 probly some of the best looking manche's around. wish mine looked like that. it will one day

i had a worse time with a bone dry HO taking fluid than i had with my renix :dunno: but yeah, they can be a PITA to get coolant in them, just gotta be patient the renix system is good becuase the computer doesnt save anything, it resets with new information every time you start it. and it has a knock sensor

On board air with a/c compressor
Oizarod115 replied to mudrunt's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
my brother used the stock 1990 sanden a/c compressor in his jeep for OBA basically you need a: pressure switch tank 3/8" power-steering line (hold pressure & doesnt blow with underhood temps) regular 3/8" air-line tool oiler (goes on intake side of pump) oil filter (output side of pump) all sorts of fittings and brass-line (dissipates heat faster of air coming out of compressor) -
my step-dad divorced his ex-wife when his kids were little, don't know how old... but he got custody and raised a son and daughter by himself as a pool-cleaner-dude... I'm sure you can do it man. to all you guys who stuck with your kids... not all dad's are like that

Oizarod115 replied to clarkerussell's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
the AX15 and the BA10 share clutches, i know the NV is an almost direct replacement but I'm only like 99.9% sure you can use the same clutch i can forward you an email i got from high-impact.net drivelines when i was talking to them about a replacement kit, it tells alot of info... -
no, nothing would be wrong... just means you're out of fluids. :brows:

Oizarod115 replied to lostissues's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
centrifugal force moves them out to the lowest spot/spot that needs more weight. pretty brilliant idea. i've heard good things about them over on NAXJA -
ooooh, ahhhhh. drop brackets

:hateputers: still the youngest by 4 days. grrr. oh well  CLASS OF '07

88 comanche project (continued)
Oizarod115 replied to 88swampedmj's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
lift laws? bumpers? what? haha, silly northerners. if we have license, registration, and tags. (sometimes emissions) we're good to go... although your truck DOES have to have cat and muffler or you will get a ticket. -

better accel off the line?
Oizarod115 replied to led_balloon's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
my camaro powered mj roars with 3.55 gears. it's hella quick, i had it to 117 mph with my little 235's on it...according to my buddies gps. actually, it only shakes from 78 to 83 mph and is smooth otherwise...not much death rattle at all.... You're an insane mofo ;) my truck would GO that fast... but i don't feel like signing over my death warrant yet. off the line mine's not so hot cause its runnin 3.07s with a higher 1st gear than most manuals (3.39 BA10 1st as opposed to the 3.83 AX15 1st , and NV3550 with 4.01 ) -
Got my NP3550.. now, which Diff?
Oizarod115 replied to clarkerussell's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
all 3 tranny's have less than a 1" difference in length between them so the rear shaft from a similarly equipped MJ should work. -
pingpong was "gauging interest" a while back to start making some and selling them in-club

How do I tell if it's the VC one? i think that one is the 249 but I'm not sure. someone else probly knows for sure... but of course it was offered behind a v8 so it can't be that bad :dunno: -

if the 242 from the grand is the one iwth the viscous coupling i say don't run it. if its the normal style that was offered in XJs id go for it... i've heard the VC ones are weak and yeah, we swapped from 242 to 231 on my brothers XJ and the D/S worked fine. same style u-joints
