  1. yep, it seems like the thing to do is use some speed. years ago when i used to go all the time those tunnels weren't like that. they were telling me they used to fill the landing in all the time, the new owners aren't. when i went everyone wanted to go check to see how deep it was, instead of that i just went and put the front end in it to see  we hooked a strap to the back to make sure it didn't nose dive, and then i just hit the gas. it wasn't that bad. but the thing to do is use speed i guess. i always wanna do it the slow easy way.
  2. gee thanks guys  :rotf: it is a big ton :hmm:
  3. its amazing what wheels and tires will do. i got these off a buddy for doing his 4" lift on his tj, 30" mud terrains, about 70 percent tread left. cool tires and no rusty wheels makes a huge difference it will just rub on full full lock, otherwise no probs. i may just do a 2 inch spacer in front to make it level and leave it alone, any thoughts?
  4. jeeze wade, did you have to get pulled off of that? here's some pics of us last week right there. i just crawled out, my buddy hit it at speed. honestly at speed seems to work better. i watched a stock tj do it last year. we went out the deeper tunnel to. this was me this was my crazy buddy
  5. Water in the cab? In Wade's truck? Please excuse the sobbing sound coming from my side of the board. Just kidding, awesome trip guys, hope to come with sometime. Rob L. i don't like it either. i never do deep water stunts but when the sign for the orange trail directs you through it, one would think it won't be deep. i did the same thing last week. i was just riding passenger at the end of the day, i had to switch spots and drive it out, i really didn't wanna have to get pulled. they should mark the trail right to the right, goes around that hole. its impassible everytime i'm there. go through the first mud hole thats not so bad, and off to the right is a small little climb, goes right around it and right back to the trail.

  10. so thats the new camaro, nice to see they really upgraded the brakes, made some real advancements and put some good brakes on it  those are the same brakes as every gm car out there. probably same part # as a malibu :shake:
  11. all right free as a bird. when ya comin down to illinois town? hang out with the fibs.
  12. i'm down, that was kinda the original idea, then it turned into a trip. meet and greet is cool w/ me anytime. i'm on vacation the 6th through the 15th or whatever. badlands the 6th, and wade and them are going on the 12th, kinda rules out those weekends though.
  13. looks like i'm going the 6th, wanna come out a week early wade?
  14. I know you are.....bastard. i knew i'd hear from you :rotfl2: come and get it, for you, 20 bux.
  15. if its a cap we're talking about i'm dying to get rid of mine for cheap.
  16. have you tried explaining the deal nicely, and asking for a check. every job i've ever had the couple times checks didin't come through right the boss cut us checks out of a different account, and just redirected or kept the checks that came out of payroll when they came.
  17. i might not get either saturday off, so i might come down after work on saturday.
  18. hey, if anyone can't make that weekend, i got some guys going down the weekend before. the weekend of the 7th. i wanna make this trip but i gotta work saturday, so the 7th i can wheel the whole weekend without work. so let me know, the more the merrier.
  19. i might be coming, getting the black yj ready. i won't be coming till saturday afternoon though, its my vacation week to, but i have to work that saturday only :wall:
  20. i like those guys to, but i don't agree with thier statement of "less than steller" on the aw4. it is one tough trans. i have a buddy that worked for jeep in the aw4 hayday, (90's primarliy) he worked for jeep for 12 years, he saw one aw4 go bad with close to 300k and nasty fluid. thats the only time i've personally known one to go bad in all my years in the business also.
  21. still didn't say wether it had oil in it or not
  22. i really hope that was after you refilled the oil, and not before. engine cranking till the battery dies with no oil in it :ack: i gotta ask, 4 post lift but no tools to disconnect a battery?
  23. i guess i'm crazy. i helped a buddy at his fab shop, he built up a tj rubi, and i swear it was 5x4.5. oh well, thats why i wasn't sure.
  24. rubicons are 5x5.5 in my expereince, i think all of them. i've worked on some tj rubis as well, and they were 5x5.5
  25. i hate those on xj's they always go bad and read low all the time even when full, so i have to unplug them on all the xj's i've had so the light goes out. :wall: and i'm definately not going to buy a new sensor or bottle.
